Odie: Sorry you are having severe soreness problems. I was on Tam for 2 years before switching to Arimidex. I had painful leg cramps (especially when I was sleeping) while on Tam plus other side effects, but not what you are experiencing. Hope you can get relief.

lady and Rhody: Good to hear from both of you again!

Ruth: Great picture! I"ll have to remember not to ask if I can have some of your sunflower seeds. Winking

Walk/ran early this afternoon. Had dinner with a good friend this evening.

Ruth Odie and TH I used to be 5' 2" until last week when I got measured for this study that I'm enrolled in and dang it, I've shrunk half an inch I'm officially 5' 1-1/2" I always have to factor in a tailor fee when I buy things, I certainly can't buy anything long sleeved a 3/4 length sleeve is a long sleeve for me Loopy Rhoddy glad you were able to get back out in the water.

Tonight did half an hour of an RPM class and then Body Jam and Ruth in Jam there were a couple of instructors who drove up from San Diego one of them was beyond fabulous so I'm going to scope out his classes for us as he teaches near Oceanside.

Odie, these antihormonals can do it. I used to take ibuprofen prophylactically. I should start doing it again. The baby aspirin does not help that much. Love the picture, Ruth!

Have to get off my butt and go to a morning Zumba class. Who's crazy scheduling idea was that? But I've already promised my friend to go even though we were just in one last night. We are stalking one of our favorite zumba instructors at another gym. Then doing a yoga class.

I'm already excited about the pics to come from the sequel of California Dreaming!

Haha Heidi, I feel your pain, last week I promised I'd go to a class at 6am well today was the day and the class was 35 miles from my house, ittook me 2 hours door to door for a half hour class but my young friend is leaving to go back to Australia and she asked me after Jam which is when I am happy and feeling on top of the world. So Grit Cardio for me today.

I had 97,242 steps last week!  Can you tell it was my first week?  I was a little overzealous. We'll see if I can keep it up.  I'm kind of neurotic about the stairs.  I can't end the day on an odd number.  So, let's say at bedtime, I have climbed 27 flights.  I have to run up and down the stairs three times before turning in.  OCD, I know...

Ruth, love the pic!  Wouldn't be a baseball game without sunflower seeds.  I sure miss watching my son play.

Monday I did a 45-minute run outside (not sure how far).  Sun was shining for a change and my knees felt great.  Woo hoo!  Yesterday, did a boring 3 1/2 mile run on the treadmill at work over lunch.  Weather was ugly again.  Itching to get out on my bike. Will see what things look like after work...

Wednesday Walkers and no snow -YAY! Odie, well done on the challenge and feel for you as I bailed on letrozole/Femara, due to SE's that took me to the mat with huge negative impact on my life. Meljo, you go girl and Ginger and HeidiHill, I'd love to try out an anti-gravity treadmill.

Vi box this morning and washed two bathroom ceilings this afternoon.

5/27: short walk and got in a little over 6K steps today.

Odie, I have to say my muscles are very sore. I started Tam on 3/31. But I am also upping my exercise. So not sure which it is -- getting into shape or Tam adding to the soreness.

My next to last day of work today (early retirement ) so the week has been busy. But got in 30 minutes leisurely walking at the mall. I wouldn't normally count that but this week I'm taking it!

Congratulations on your retirement, Reader! I am loving it!!

A totally 'exercisy' day; after walking I cleaned house, did a little yard work, then went to Zumba & Yoga (trying to burn off the sunflower seeds and Memorial Day picnic food!).

Way to go everyone; keep it up!

I just looked at my fitbit and I need 25 steps to break 10,000 steps for the day so I will take a couple of laps around my bedroom to make it. My hip is pretty sore today from my PT session.

Congrats, Reader, on your retirement.  Lucky girl.

Odie I didn't have that trouble on tamoxifen but it is very common on the aromatase inhibitors, so I guess it wouldn't surprise me if that was an SE on tamoxifen too. I didn't really have any SEs on tamoxifen, but don't judge my experience because it didn't work for me, so I feel like I wasn't metabolizing it.   I have found that after a few months of exercise the pain improves.

Pretty picture, Ruth.  I love the reflection on the river.

I walked 25 minutes yesterday.  I have a killer sinus headache today(thank you mold and grass pollen) and even a little dizzy so its unlikely I'll get anything in today.

Rowing last night. Our new coach is a slave driver! Over an hour out on the water in choppy windy conditions made it extra hard. But glad to be back on the water! And carrying the boats down to the river and back is a workout by itself!

    Congrats on retirement!

thanks for the good wishes ladyb and ruth! I'm excited.

Did 20 minutes of lite gardening tonight. Hope to go to my first daytime class at the gym tomorrow. Or maybe walk outside if our DC weather cooperates!

Did my Cardio Sculpt this morning & Zumba tonight. Tomorrow we take off to watch the state baseball tournament. Tonight's games got rained out, so they will play two games tomorrow & one on Sunday. Hopefully I will have a good report when I get back! We will stay overnight with some old friends, so that will be fun too. I will try to stay away from the sunflower seeds; I think I have just gotten all that salt out of my system!

I am just reading in the Time Magazine (June 1 issue) about what makes for resilient people, people who can bounce back when faced with setbacks and difficult experiences. Among other things, sciencists are finding that exercise and mediation can actually REWIRE your brain. Neurons are literally damaged by stress & exercise spurs the development of new neurons. Over time, regular exercise can tamp down your stress response. Consistent meditation changes how the brain looks & operates. The brain more quickly recovers from stress and it can even help decrease the expression of pro-inflammatory genes. (Yoga, anyone?). Pretty exciting stuff! I can post their 10 tips For Resilience if you want, or pick up a copy of Time (probably not out until next week, I have a subscription so get it early).

Please list them, Ruth! Exercise has always helped me with my stress. I talk things out with myself when I walk/run. I love it!

    Great picture of you!

    Walked/ran late this evening.

Envious of all the great walking spots but appreciate the photos.

    Congrats on retirement Reader!

    Feel better soon Twohobbies.

Guess I just seriously overdid it over the weekend with the challenge workout Saturday and yardwork/vacumming out the car Sunday. Appreciate the well wishes. Took Monday to play in the pool and rested Tuesday and Wednesday. Felt much better after the rest so went back to bootcamp tonight.

    Happy Friday everyone.

    Expert Tips For Resilience

    1. Develop a core set of beliefs that nothing can shake

I am so behind on everyone's postings as I have been too busy getting ready for my trip. Thanks you Ruthbru for the tips! I am sticking to walking still--that's about all I've been consistent with lately. I'll be doing a lot more of that on my trip. See you in July!

5/28- nice evening yoga class for 90 min.

Ruth- thanks for the info on resilience. I agree with all those points, and also think exercise and meditation make a huge difference.

    Reader- congrats on early retirement!

Congratulations on your retirement Reader. Happy vacation Kat.

My step count this week has been atrocious I have been helping out a friend at his place of business (we are in the same business and help each other out) I have been standing for 8 hours or longer filling 25,000 envelopes and instead of walking and picking up inserts they are being fed to me so I'm just standing ughhh yesterday I told them I couldn't stay till 10pm as we had the night before as I had an appointment, well I wasn't telling a fib, I did have an appointment but it was with my carpool gang to go to Body JamHappy
