I'm particular about what shoe I wear for certain training. Run in Brooks (Ravenna), step and gym cardio in New Balance (best heel cushioning) and last month bought my first pair of barefoot runners - Under Armour SpeedForm women's Apollo in a pretty teal and yellow. Really like them and as I have short, squat duck feet these feel amazingly comfortable straight out of the box.

Pink Pilates yesterday and 4 hours BB practice in the gym.

Now, off to step class and back in the gym later in the afternoon to practice.

Edited to add: I taught my first, from start to finish body balance class this morning at the gym. The instructor I shadow has a very sore throat, so she asked me to do it and got through it all, including meditation, sweating bullets..well, the air con is still broken and felt exhilarated! The women were so generous with praise and support afterwards-bless. Feels like I've made the shift from gym member (which I still am, took step before body balance) to instructor.

Congrats on your first class, Lilacblue!!! That is a big milestone. Meljo, wow on the shoe display. I'll try the blueberry with regular beef tonight. Hope it doesn't come out mushy. Maybe I'll add some oatmeal to make it drier and healthier.

Biked around to do errands, including doctor's visit. Voted last night on about a dozen items (direct democracy is draining), including $150 million for more bicycle lanes and parking areas in the city.

    Congrats Lilac!!

I have been doing my normal and dull weeknight routine, but did get in about 16 miles of cycling yesterday. I don't know for sure because my odometer is broken, so another one for my list. Lots of people out there training for the Seattle-to-Portland which is only 5 weeks from now. I am doing a 60 mile easy ride tomorrow and then a fun rose garden ride in Seattle on Sunday. This is a route I made up and you take in 3 different rose gardens along the way. Plus, a stop at Honore Bakery for macaroons. Easy, fun, and gorgeous on a nice day.

My new bicycle pump works like a charm. For one thing, the pressure gauge is accurate, so no more cycling on slightly underinflated tires. Talk about doing extra work!!!

Need to get rolling. Just caught up with a friend. If she gets a contract, she may be paying Seattle a visit. So a fun summer ahead. - Claire

lilacblue, Yay!  Sounds like first class was impressive!  As far as shoes, I am the same.  I prefer New Balance for the gym, Salomon for trail running, Asics or Saucony for street running, and Nikes when I just want to look cute Happy

Ruth, enjoy the doggie!  My baby is at the groomer today so she will be good and pissed off when I pick her up.  Ha!  I will have to woo her with treats again.

I had a rest day of sorts yesterday.  Did a short brisk walk because it drives me crazy to truly do nothing.  Planning a run for later this afternoon.

Side note not related to exercise:  Saw my RO today for significant swelling in my 'bad' breast.  Infection ruled out.  She thinks it is probably edema but wants to err on the side of caution because of my very dense tissue.  Sending me for MRI next Wednesday.  Trying not to fret.  Hopefully nothing scary...

hey all - been lurking a lot lately but not posting (in kind of a tired funk for a while). Looking forward to the San Diego trip but have a medical worry that recently cropped up and would appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts.

I've been post-menopausal for about four years and have been on arimidex for 2.5 yrs but had a week-long episode of spottingstarting last Wednesday. Got right in to see my Gyno. She did a pelvic exam of course and then an endometrial biopsy because she could feel that a fibroid exterior to my uterus had grown since December. She put me on an antibiotic due to some particular bacteria she found.

I had one previous episode of post menopausal bleeding in 2012 and my previous Gyno did a hysteroscopy to check things out (removed one large fibroid bit no sign of cancer at that time. Now, though, since I've had bc and am on the estrogen sucking drug I'm having a hard time with worry about possible uterine cancer because I should definitely not be bleeding.

Had an abdominal and trans-vaginal ultrasound yesterday. Should have results of biopsy and ultrasound by late this week. Please pray for good news.

SweetandSpecial- sorry about the gyn worries. Bleeding can be caused by many things that are not cancer, however, after going through bc, we always go there first. Let us know how you are doing as you find out more. Hugs sister.

Lilacblue, congrats on your first class. I would have loved to have been there too but am sure you did fabulous.

Meljo and Sweet, sending prayers and hugs for stupid noncancer crap.

Littleblue, take it easy and feel better soon.

Dunesleeper, hope you find your fitbit!

Exercise yesterday was bootcamp and today was 30 minutes on the treadmill. Busy weekend ahead with plenty of manual labor so expect lots of exercise over the next two days.

hi, so sorry been bad about posting, just swamped @ work. Training on a new computer system in addition to my usual heavy workload.  Haven't even opened the pkg from Kohl's with maxi-dresses.  Tomorrow for sure!  Need to wash them before wearing.  Vacation starts at the end of next week so my to-do list is long, including the dreaded packing.  On the upside, I will get to see a bunch of my Sculpted Sisters soon!  Been walking nearly every day.  Welcome the newbies and ♥ to all.

Meljo and Sweet- I feel your pain! Waiting is the worst.

I had my MRI may 4th, got results from my GP in just a few days that it showed focal inflammation measuring .8cm and suggesting referral to breast dr. She is at a different hospital so they sent the results there on 5/11. I have been calling her office to see if she got the results and what she thinks about it and cannot get anyone to call me back. It has been 3.5 weeks and I am so frustrated! I have spoken to 2 people who said they would look into it and left 2 more messages and have not heard from anyone.

Still doing PT for bursitis in my hip. I was making progress until I made the foolish decision to join in the student/staff kickball game the other day. It was fun but I had so much pain that night and recovery is slow going. I am missing my exercise. Still getting 8,000-12,000 steps a day but nothing more than walking at this point.

Sending healing thoughts, prayers and (((HUGS))) to Sweet, Meljo and Ginger hoping it's just "stuff" and Littleblue a big (((HUG))) for you too.  Meljo I see absolutely nothing wrong with such a fabulous shoe collection Happy Dune I hope you find your Fitbit.  LB congratulations on your very first class, now you don't need to be so nervous when you film cause you've already done it, and as a class participant I can assure you that when a member takes the leap from participant to instructor those of us that have witnessed it are cheering for you.

I did Body Jam last night and had a nice rest day today and I need it as I have the beginnings of a cold, one of my car pool buddies was very generous and shared her bug with me, I have been dosing up on vitamin C but my head is starting to ache and I need to get over it quick smart as it's one week till "California Dreaming II" so excited to get together with everyone Hug

Love you all so much! Waiting IS definitely the hardest. meljo and Ginger: mutual (((((hugs))))) as we await news on our concerns. Badger: I hear you on the 'swamped at work' thing - I think that's part of my funk lately. High visibility project that's behind schedule and there are simply NOT enough hours in in a day. By late afternoon I realize that I've been so busy'fighting fires' all day I haven't had time to do anything else and have to stay late to make any progress at all....

Ginger I understand the bursitis thing. I have a shoulder that acts up and never quite seems to be 100% any more. Cortisone shot several years ago solved the worst of it though. Cheryl get well soon!!

Once again, way behind on the posts! I guess that's a good sign that "normal" life is getting in the way. But I need to do a better job taking care of me! Off a bit on the exercise this week, my daughter and her hubby are in from North Carolina with the granddog. Glad to see them after nearly six months! Lots of activity with the doggies though! They are changing the scheduled for some of the rowing classes so I will need to see what I can work out. Not quite so convenience.Boo!

Hugs and prayers to those of you with concerns. I can understand the worry!

Mel Sweet & Ginger, good thoughts for best results and outcome. Waiting is horrible and my magnifying mind can have a field day. Thank you (((All))) for the kind words and support and back at the gym for three hours practice this afternoon. Lying on the sofa chilling and thinking of watching something on Amazon Prime.

Ginger, frustrating on the waiting. Devil

Littleblue, the end is in sight! We will celebrate with you (two weeks after your last infusion because that is when you will really start feeling better).

Today I did something called the Running Of the Pink. Now, I don't like 'rah rah pink' promotions (nor do I like running!). But this annual event is sponsored by a local car dealership and all the money raised goes to Women's Way, a program that offers free mammograms & paps to low income women (100% of the money stays local). One of my old aide's early stage cervical cancer was found through this program & she really felt that it saved her life (or saved her from more extensive treatments anyway). So for this very good cause, I donned the pink tee shirt and walked (not ran) the 5K.....although I walked really fast because my friend brought her Husky, who would have really liked to head up the whole race, and for sure wanted to be ahead of any other dogs....so we had to zoom ahead of all the other people walking with dogs, so she could be the leader of the pack!!!

I walked my little dog sitting dog later (he is a corgi mix so I didn't think he could keep up with the Husky at the run....plus I didn't know whether he would like all the excitement/crowds etc. of a race or not).

Back from my 60 mile ride. Think I will add this one back in to my faves because:

    1. They fixed the really horrible patch going into Arlington WA, replacing the potholes and no shoulder with a brand new stretch of bicycle path!
    2. The new brewery in Arlington is worth a visit.
Gorgeous day. Tomorrow is the 3 Rose Gardens ride in Seattle. One I invented and also features a stop at a wonderful bakery. Will carpool to an out-of-the-way spot for parking. - Claire

Just wrapped up a work project (yes at 9:30 pm on a Sat) and still have May books to finish for the business.

Got out early this morning for a walk, then did errands and some Garden & Sculpt.  Took a nice nap, worked for a few hours, then took another walk as simply gorgeous today and couldn't stand being indoors any more.  Logging 6.3 miles for the day.

hey littleblue, walking thru the farmers market counts as exercise, any movement is better than none!

Just got tickets to the Sugar Maple traditional music festival in Madison in Aug.  The amazing guitarist Bryan Sutton is headlining Friday!  Wonderland, we saw him twice at MerleFest - once with Hot Rize and once with Sutton, Holt & Coleman.  So excited I've been pacing the house this morning, gonna head out and walk it off.  It's drizzling but I don't care, I need to move! ♥

Here are a couple of videos, the first one fast and the second one slow.  Both great!

I've been so busy this week and next week will also be bad, but I caught up on my exercise with my yard work exercise plan yesterday. One hour and forty minutes of mowing and pruning. Good for getting a good nights sleep. Bad for staying on my healthy eating plan. i get sooooohungry.

Praying for good news for those awaiting tests. It's so nerve wracking and we each understand where you are at.

32 miles of touring rose gardens and exploring Seattle neighborhoods with my old cycling buddy Jim. The most glorious roses ever. Good eats along the way. I had a salmon and mushroom fettuccini from a food truck in Fremont market.  Plus lavender-chocolate macaroons at the bakery stop. Life is good! - Claire
