Two - thanks for the Chicago info. We've been asking around, and what you said tallies with what everyone else has said - stay around Evanston or Skokie north of town, and take the El to Wrigley since driving/parking there is a hassle. So at this point we plan to find a hotel within walking distance to the El. We'll pick up the rental car at the airport, drive and park at the hotel, and walk to the El to get to the game.
Scottie - I know those post-surgery restrictions are frustrating, but they really are in our best interests. And starting out slowly afterwards is smart too. Unfortunately, my surgeon didn't advise me about starting out slowly after the 6 weeks. After my BMX, once the restrictions were over, I got back into weights and didn't start out slowly. Instead, I ramped up to heavy weights and lots of reps very quickly. And ended up with lymphedema. Believe me, you want to do everything you can to minimize your risk of triggering lymphedema. You're very lucky that your surgeon knows to advise you to go slowly after your surgery.
Stretching and squats this morning.

Coyotes- yikes! I am glad there are not any of those when I go out for exercise. I use to live in Huntington Beach also Hbcheyl, but I mainly ran at the beach. Luckily I never encountered a coyote, it would have scared me to no end. There are mainly birds and rabbits when I go out to exercise here.
Today I walked 3.5 miles and lifted weights. We went out a little earlier due to the heat. It is HOT here in Texas! Enjoy your day everyone!!

I met quite the handsome young swain last summer on the running trail, and if I had been a lady coyote, I would have been very interested. There are certainly a lot around where I live. Cougars and bears too, but fortunately deeper into the woodland.
Finally have my energy back post Big Ride. Most likely a run this evening. And then riding on my hybrid over the weekend while my road bike gets new rear hub bearings.
Gorgeous day here, and can't wait for my 5k evening run. - Claire

Go littleblueflowers and Annie88, great clocking up the miles. Claire, well done and Katcar, loved the photos, and yes, very similar to Tuscany and your boyfriend is handsome and you look lovely and chic! Ruth & Wonderland, thanks for sharing the photos. Rhody, Jazzy, Odie, TwoHobbies, Ginger, Mary, HeidiHill (wow45 miles!) I'm inspired! Hope you enjoyed spa day Pattoo and Cheryl, I just bought 69 and attended a class yesterday that was half 69. It's a good one, I liked it and hope to deliver it soon! Scottiemom and Kindergargarten, Queenmomcat and Badger - waving at you guys.
I'm baking food for the big Pink Ribbon Pilates Wellbeing Day fundraiser this Saturday. Just pulled a spring onion, cheese and asparagus quiche from the oven and after it cools, popping that in the freezer - one more to go. Made a cherry cola cake yesterday, inspired by my recent World of Coke tour, lol - so healthy - not! Onwards with more baking!

After the Wednesday Women walked, one of our friends invited us to her lovely backyard for a Garden Party, complete with hats. So we looking fancy and sweaty both.

Lovely garden party hats and it looks like a beautiful day.
We've had many coyotes also. We also have had foxes, one cougar, and a bobcat has been spotted a few miles from here and I swear I may have seen it a few weeks ago. We had a family of foxes pretty much living in our back yard. I saw animal control taking them away one day in the berm across from me. I was so sad, because they didn't hurt anyone or anything. I have a 19 lb dog and he would chase them and they'd run, that's it.
Mary, that sounds like a plan for your stay and have fun at the old ballpark. Words cannot express how much I love Wrigley Field. I spent many a summer day going down to Wrigley for cheap bleacher seats or even $7 box seats over the Cubs dugout. Ha ha ha, I know that price has gone way up! Enjoy!
30 minute walk for me today.

40 minutes glorious walking here in Maryland. unusual lower temperature and humidity!

I spent the day helping DH replace a small deck that leads up to our kitchen door. We had to stop a couple of times for thunderstorms to pass. Temperatures and humidity will be better now.

Reader - isn't it beautiful today here in the DC area?? I hate to go to work - I want to play hookey and be outside all day! Cheryl - so glad all is OK! Lilac - that spring onion, cheese and asparagus quiche sounds fabulous!
Two - thanks again - you gave me exactly the info I needed for our Chicago-Milwaukee trip in August. We have hotel reservations in Evanston for that Friday night at a hotel that's just a few blocks from the L so that works to get to the Cubs game. We'll drive up to Milwaukee on Saturday for the family event Saturday night.
And Badger - we found out that the cousin we're staying with in Milwaukee lives just 4 blocks from Miller Park - guess where we're going on the Sunday that we're there??
We really hadn't planned on going to a Brewers game on this trip, but when fate drops a baseball park right in your lap, what can one do? Nothing like getting bonus baseball on vacation! C25K Week 7 Day 1 this morning in the beautiful weather. Going to see The Producers at a local theatre tonight. I've seen it on Broadway a couple of times, so I can't wait to see how a local company handles it, especially the big song and dance number!

Whew Cheryl, glad you got the 'all clear'! Enjoy Chicago, Nats. We are going to my uncle's suprise 80th birthday in western Wisconsin at the end of the month, so just ordered Twins tickets yesterday. Too close to pass up the opportunity. We are in the car right now heading for a one night, two days get-together with some old friends. I wish the timing could have been different, but oh well. I will have to exercise a whole bunch this weekend. I went to Zumba last night and did sneak in half a yoga class before my meeting Tuesday.

HBcheryl- I am glad everything was good for you! I go through 6 month mammo and ultrasound follow ups and have to wait each time for the radiologist to review them. I just pray the whole time, while I am waiting for them to come in. Just went through my last one last friday, and all is well here too. It is good to be well.

I walked at lunch at work on Monday and Tuesday. Rowing class last night. Now that I have moved up to the Intermediate group, we don't get a break at all! It was a heck of a work out. The river was a bit choppy and windy, and power boats were giving us big wakes to power through. Taking a "mental health" day today, and the weather is fabulous. I couldn't have picked a better day to take off.

Hi all,
I haven't been posting lately because life has been crazy, but I have been exercising (I promise!). Here is a photo of some friends and I 'Storming the Bastille' last Thursday night--5K run downtown Milwaukee to kick off Bastille Days, the French festival. We ran at 9 pm then enjoyed some lovely wine, music, and French cuisine.

Last night I rode my bike out in the country to a friend's house to raid her garden. She is on vacation out of the country and invited me to enjoy all the produce while she is gone. Filled my string bag with raspberries, green beans, rhubarb, lettuce, basil, and lots of kale. Going back today for cucumbers and kohlrabi. What a treat to eat food from a known local source! Heading out for my lunchtime run momentarily. Sounds like everyone is enjoying the summer that is just flying by!

Ruth: you are always on the go! Love it!
Cheryl: You can breathe again.
meljo: Such a happy picture! Sounds like so much fun.
Mowed early this afternoon for 1 and 1/2 hours. Really good exercise.

Hbcheryl- What a relief to have an all clear! You must go out and celebrate! I have my first mammo since DX in Sept., it is making me nervous for sure.
Ruth- You have a busy, fun life. It is full of adventure and friends.
Meljo-This festival sounds like a good time. The bonus is you get your run in too.
Wonderland- Mowing is a workout for sure! You got cardio and resistance.
I walked today 4 miles and rode my bike. We went swimming to cool off during the day

Meljo they even have an Eiffel Tower. Who knew!
Cheryl good news on the mammo and ultrasound. Phew. Those places can bring some ptsd.
Mary glad to help and have fun.
I walked some at lunchtime and it's good I did because my plan to run in the cool weather after work did not work out. It's raining again, rather it's pouring.

congrats Jazzy and Cheryl-so glad you got good results!
Today is our 27th wedding anniversary. I had PT this morning and got to run for 10 min on the alter-g treadmill. It lowers the effects of gravity and we are using it to fix my running stride as my hip strengthens and heals. Did 15 on the exercise bike along with other exercises and stretches. We worked a bit more on our deck project and then headed for a nearby river for 2 hours of kayaking. Went out to dinner and finished with ice cream. Nice day and the weather was perfect!

Haven't been good at posting consistently. But with that said I am still exercising. Tamo is kicking my behind but hopeful the SEs will begin to decrease. I have benn on Tamo for 3 months and exercise definitely helps. I love the walks around the roof garden or the lake during lunch.

Had a 15-hour marathon work day yesterday and Fitbit needed charging so it did not record all of my pacing. I did start going up and down the stairs in the late afternoon and early evening. This only happens 3 times a year for us thank goodness. Pre-op today but going to the gym later.
1.5 miles and about 25 stairs yesterday
