Nice to have clear margins! No more surgery. Sassy you make me laugh... whenever you tell your stories all I can think of is i am so very glad I don't have to work in a hospital anymore. I wanted so badly to leave it all behind and then to get MBC just seems like some kind of cruel joke. I wanted gardening, forests, kids, dogs goofy projects - not meds, office visits, treatments forever... sigh.. I hate to sound ungrateful but I hate it. May all of you in the BC club DCIS- lllc never ever ever progress - I shower you with well being dust and and all the energy I can muster to leave you all firmly on the other side of the fence! Wish I had the real power to make it so forever wouldn't that be great.

Our DD1 foster family shared a huge bag of cherries with us. We are trying to space ourselves... not inflict diarrhea but ya know sweet fat juicy fresh cherries are just the best.. like a sweet nectarine or sunripen tomato.. OY! Jazzy- my cousin had so many biopsies out of one breast they gave her a partial prosthetic to fill out. Maybe an option? Patty it's nice you can skinny dip in the evenings in the pool... that sounds like fun.

OMD!!!!!!! You women are insane! (And I mean that in the best possible way!) I was gone for a few days and it's taken me 3 days to catch up! Because I have to read all the posts just in case I might miss something. And I'm glad I did! I would have missed all those gorgeous guys with those special little curves we all love apparently, and I would have missed the newest Owlette, Queenie – by the way, Queenie, I also had ovarian cancer that wasn't, and I'm dying to hear your story about it.

And may I just say, my body hates hates hates not having estrogen!! It's not just the hot flashes, but every once in a while I have these melt downs that just knock me for a loop. This one put me in a fetal position in bed for 2 days. Still recovering from that. It doesn't take much, just a little trigger and my brain explodes and I am just down for the count. Hate it hate it.

Jazzy, thank you for asking about me 10 or 12 pages ago (LOL!). I am other than the estrogen issues holding my own. (Chevy please don't ask what it is that I own that I am holding, either.) I am slowly doing a little bit more here and there. DH and I are planning a short road trip for our 28th anniversary at the end of the month, maybe just ride out Rt. 66 and spend a night somewhere. You know, to sleep. Because Essex might as well be in Neverland as far as he is concerned. Oh well. Without estrogen I'm probably better off without going to Essex anyway. Too painful.

Okay I just wanted y'all to know that I haven't dropped off the face of the earth, since Jazzy was gracious enough to remember me.

Lover: you're definitely right about the protein! Found that out after the two orthopedically much more involved surgeries last year and I expected this to be no different. Just spread out over a longer timespan. I don't remember whether I ate much seafood after those surgeries, though as the technique was very different--robotic with incision minimization--there wouldn't have been nearly as much visible/surface scarring.

Jazzy: I did arrange a referral through Dr. Breast Surgeon today, as I at least wanted to find out what my options are AFTER finding out whether I'd need a mastectomy or would walk away with what remained of my natural breast. Trying to go into this with realistic expectations, though I hope it helps that a) I have a considerable amount of breast remaining on the left and b) don't particularly WANT to be returned to the size I was before surgery. But that's something I need to ask Dr. Plastic Surgeon.

Doesn't help that I haven't figured out what the technical names for anything are! It wasn't until Dr. Breast Surgeon used it today that I knew what "dog ears" meant.

The concert tonight was just the best. Elvis Costello was good, never been a huge fan of his but do like some of his songs. His wife, on the other hand, is one of my favorite jazz vocalists and saw her in Aspen last summer at their jazz fest.

But Steely Dan was SO good. One of my favorite bands of the 70 and 80s growing up. They were always a studio band, never toured back in the day but have been on the road off and on since the the the 1990s. They have an amazing band assembled for this road show and probably are the closest to creating the sound on their albums of any group I have ever heard. I now see the benefit of being a studio band! They perfected their music. Another thing off my bucket list. Must see Steely Dan in concert, check!

I have a question, why can I remember every lyric to their songs and sing right along with them but rarely can find my keys?

We went to see Magic Mike! OMD you guys, you should have BEEN there! I have never seen that kind of action in all my entire life! I mean none of that stuff was even immaginable when I was younger! and yes, the dancing?? was incredible! I was sitting there with the girls, and Sheri's friend, and I just kept hearing "Holy chit!".... Well, it really was entertaining....

Just didn't partitularly like the part Michael Strahan played in there... I mean he is a popular talk-show host, and here he is grinding his wares in this some-what risque movie........... Oh well.... Channing Tatum, and those OTHER hunks were GREAT! Good choreography, if you're into being tossed over their shoulders, and drug incessantly over the floor, not to mention thinking to yourself "HOW do they DO that?" And wishing it was YOU!

So that's my review of THAT stuff.... My Husband just thinks Magic Mike is the story of a Magician..... HAH!!!

Oh my, can't look at those pecs and abs too long or I will commit adultery!!

Mag, it seems like you have been gone for weeks, not days. Saw the ear licking black cat on W&F you posted and wondered what is going on in the mind of people who find that amusing.....hmmm probably as messed up as me. Sometimes I also wonder what % of the humors/messages reflects the posters' personality or character.

Loved the sandals! So true here.. you will even see parents with their kids in tow - little boys in cargo shorts colored socks and sandals. Too cute. Jazzy my DH loves Elvis C. and we both love Diana. Although I about fell over when I found out she married him... she's awesome and he's.. hmm interesting. Oh well. As far as all the pecs on the guys.. I think I have been on AI's for too long. No estrogen..no interest. I see orange robed monks every so often here in town since we have Thai monastary nearby.. always startling to see the orange robes and sandals and shaved head coming out of Walmart...

There is a mildly interesting article on specialty pharmacies on the NY Times today. It's light on substance but it does address the rise of why they exist... shocking MONEY! No big Pharma motivated by money.. hard to believe. Be well!

And how good of you to expose your girls to the piano. My parents never really encouraged my music although they would come to my concerts through the years. I got into music in grammar school and then one of my grandmothers was the one to say "you have talent, please always share it with the world." She was my inspiration. When you learn music young, it will remain with you always.

Rose- yes about Elvis and Diana, unlikely couple but they have two young twin boys together (like age 10?) When I saw her in Aspen last summer, she was sharing funny stories about her twins that were so fun. We know these people as fabulous musicians, but we got a glimpse of Diana the mom.

Mags- I am glad to hear from you also and love the idea of a road trip along Route 66. Since I live along that route, I have often thought how fun it would be to do the whole thing. There are still many places that have the essence of Route 66 out west here. I hope to hear about your adventures and any interesting stops you do?

That jury trial is finally over.... They are reading the verdict in one hour... on Fox.... Too bad it had to come to all this.... I know I shouldn't feel like this, but anyone who shoots someone else, no matter what the reason, not to mention MANY people, ruing so many families, well, they deserve the same punishment as soon as possible.

So much time and money for all the attorney's to deFEND this guy! Then it will take another year for all the appeals, etc. Is it just that I am older? I have no use for all this ridiculous defense ideas.

Same with the N.Y. bombers....guilty! Period.

Loverly, my Daughter is having such a rough time with tinnitis! She is going to call several specialists.... hoping to get some relief.... We have tried to send her info on it.... but have any of you had good results with any treatment for that? She went to her Primary Care, and she referred several, but just wondering if ANY treatment will help.....
