Hi everyone, especially Rose. I know you requested lightness and humor, but I'm not so good at that. I can be good at gallows humor - which has gotten me in trouble around here more than once - but I can't think past this kick in the gut. I didn't know you were so sick ; apparently you didn't either. (That was gallows humor.) Oh man I'm so angry; but I've had a few days with such pain, back a couple months, that I do understand about being ready for the release of death. Transcendence sounds really nice. When you talked about how fast it grew I thought of how my lymph nodes appeared, grew, then the next and the next, right up my collar bone and neck. The receptionist at my MOs office called me paranoid, and I was looking in the mirror at the time and my mouth just dropped open. It was crazy. I couldn't get them to move up my appointment. When I finally talked to the nurse I asked if it could grow that fast. Her lack of reply spoke volumes. I'm very sad, and I will miss you- and geez it's hard to see this keyboard with my eyes all wet. I'm sorry for being so maudlin and I promise to refrain from doing it again (today), and I will party with the girls and be as irreverent as permitted.

Mags- love the note from the unicorns! Had me laughing and thinking of the song by The Irish Rovers "The Unicorn"

Mags--funny!
Hi, Dunesleeper--my fellow May Chemo-ite. Or Chemian or, well, whatever we are.
Queenie--I've got Weezer's "Buddy Holly" song in my brain. Just when I think that I've gotten rid of it, that stupid Honda commercial comes on again. I used to like that song.
Queenie's comment on "The Dubliners" the band and all the wake convo's got my brain rolling over to James Joyce's The Dubliners and the story of "The Dead". I'm now having PTSD flashbacks. I had to read Ulysses in high school and I hated it. First book I ever despised. I tried to re-read it a few years back when I started my quest to read the "100 Greatest Novels" and I still hated it. I was so dumbfounded by Time listing it as the #1 book that I switched to The Guardians version of the top 100.
Sas--sheesh, I thought the 27 first cousins on my mom's side was bad!
Spookie--tell Noah to take the unicorn but leave the platypus. The whole "I'm a duck, I'm a beaver" thing will just encourage the other species to try to get it on with each other. The next thing you'll know, you'll have a floating animal porn palace that will be deemed the new Sodom and Gomorrah and then ⚡️⚡️⚡️Zot! BBQ on the beaches of Florida, courtesy of an Angry God.

Marla: stay away from Joyce's Finnegan's Wake. Far away. Very far.
Sas: "Finnegan's Wake" supplanted the realization that NewBoyCat looked just like the illustrations for Eric Litwin's Pete the Cat books, and concomitant alternating between "My Buttons" and "I love my white shoes".
And just discovered that EstablishedGirlCat loves the vanilla whey/soy protein and milk combination. Great. Now another set of glasses I need to check for cat spit.

Queenie Trying to figure out if I comprehend that. Is this a test? I think it's jibberish? I jibbered a couple of days ago. I guess I'm better at creating jibber than reading. Chevy?
Marley, poor DH was overwhelmed at family gatherings. They were always at my dads bar (painted white with green shamrocks). He would always man the beer spigots. Folks would get beer , talk a couple of minutes , then move on. I miss it all now. Only one down here now. A few are snowbirds. That's been fun the last few years

Something for Rosie to laugh at. Daughter and I at a tomatoe throw. Love doing funny things0 -
And Susan! You need a new HAT! WTH? Hey Dunes! So good to hear from you.... !
We gotta keep making Rosie laugh... for our sake too.... None of us like what is happening around here, but we know it and try and accept it.... and we go on every day that we have.... all the rest of us, holding each other in our arms and prayers.
And what's this about Good Progwhatever? Do I know you? Yet? I have forgotten to welcome you, dagnabit! Did you guys see her here? And forgot to tell me? We are all one close-knit "family".... mostly sisters, with a lot of things in common.... and we are here to keep you company and try and gloss-over things we don't like.
And you can tell me ANYthing, because I am the oldest and wisest.... See, if you are "older" then you know everything there is to know...

Be back in the morning.... sleep tight girls.... don't let the bed-bugs bite! xoxo

Man if you threw our green tomatoes it would HURT! Hard as a rock. Even though we have had all this hot weather nothing is ripe.. dang it. Susan it looks like fun! Spookie for the first time in over a month it rained! I mean here in Oregon it rained.. you know water.. Loverly and Marlana understand how this shocks people being from CA. I was thrilled. We need it soooooo much. I just got up from nap.. whew. tired. My Dad was Irish... orange man and only child. No bunnies. He liked a drink.. but nothing more than one or two. Then the rest is Swedish, English and German. Not big partiers... decorating, gardening, nice dinners, dogs and kids. Sounds boring soory. Irish wake sounds noisy and perhaps dangerous.. Sassy funny that a Mexican married into your Irish family and called you all rabbits! They often times have large families.
Hi Dunes.. yep those little buggers like to grow. Sucks.. i didn't get much of a report Thursday, just labs, wait 2 hours, quick peek of the gut with ultrasound, then off the ultrasound table and go home. My gut is definitely firm and distended and icky wasn't like this a week ago.. hard to breathe and uncomfortable and all that in 16 days, most in in the last 7. Wow hard to imagine time wise but as uncomfortable as I am.. very real. Anyway glad the chemo crew is doing well- well enough to throw tomatoes! Dunes hope your lymph nodes go down next round of chemo. I was thinking of Romansma and knew she had progression on Ibrance I hope she has found another treatment.
Welcome December.. just warning you that here on this thread you will always know what the weather is like in Florida.. which can be a little annoying in the dead of Winter in the other 50 states freezing our buns off. Sunny & gorgeous a chilly 75 degrees in Dunedin... wearing flip flops in many colors! Be well ya'll.

"Bunny family" hahaha.....finally figured it out. I know, I know, I am a bit slow. Irish and Mexican are more fertile than Vietnamese!!
Susan, you have ants in your pants too? December, that verse is also my favorite because I need to be reminded to be still. The other reason I like the verse is that it is one of the two I can commit to memory("He wept" is the other one) haha. If I am not busy physically, I am busy mentally. In primary and secondary school, I often get caught for day dreaming. So the 'Be still' verse is good for me.
Marlana, I mix the aloe vera with cranberry juice. Tried to drink it straight....it's like water, but with a distinct smell. Have to mask it with juice.
Yeah for rain in Oregon.

A tomato throw? Do tell!! Can't get a decent tomato here, any time of the year. Guess that's why fried green tomatos are a southern thang.

but then there's this too!

Tarpon Springs, a small city 11 miles from me got about 12-13 inches of rain in the past 24 hours. Sas knows the town. Our dog park is flooded, there were mallards swimming in it. If it keeps up like its supposed to it will be over Spookies head.

lover..laughed out loud at that post. When ever anyone asks if I have memorized verses I say yes....he wept. That's as much as my pea brain holds ..lol and yes...many ants in these pants...maybe that's why there is so much itching...never mind...another story
Chevy...what's wrong with my hat!!!!! It's 15 years old. Can't retire it. One of many I wore when I first went baldy head.....sentimental rags...lo

spooks, they started a tomato throw here a couple years ago. The money you pay ....yes you pay to do this....is given to a food bank. It was warm yucky tomatoes. But we had a blast. It's a Spanish thing. Never looked it up. Goes with running with the Bulls I think.
see all the tomatoes flying...fun fun fu0 -
Tried to delete cause it was blurry...I was under a fire hose washing in freezing water. Someone e plain how to delete please

Hey Rosevalley. Those lymph nodes are definitely flat, well maybe little mounds. The skin is icky and dry and purplish, but I imagine that is all from the inflammation those nasty buggers were causing. This was my week off, and I actually feel about normal now. Monday I get to start it all over again. With these external signs of it working, I will go into it with a better attitude. Maybe that will help, or maybe the fact that I know what to expect will help. Who knows? I never could figure out how the Taxol was going to treat me. It's a terrible disease and I do hope they find a way to manage it better than they are now, though I am grateful for the options we do have. Everything changes. Dylan Thomas urged his father to rage against the dying of the light. I say, we know when it is time, and thank God we live (and die) in a time when there is hospice care, when there is such a focus on keeping us comfortable. From what I hear, they truly do that. OK. Enough! I must slap my hand a few times for being serious. My bubble will come back -- in time to get hit with the chemo but oh what the hell.
Hi Chevy. It's nice to see you again too. I hope you are doing well and enjoying your summer.
Hi to everyone else too. I can't remember all the names. Be well.
PS: Bubble soccer does look like a lot of fun, but I'm afraid I'd never be able to get up again after I fell down -- and I'm sure I would fall down. I hope you get to do it!

That's really Chevy sitting on that ice block last year when she was here. She wants us to "think" she's older than dirt.
Good cause for tomato throw, looks like a fun day.

Susan, a most beautiful photo..... You always shine.
I played in a 2 day golf tournament with my DD. This morning, on our first hole we saw a red fox. We get to the green & there was the baby ( kit ? ). Sadly, very tame & hungry. I was shocked a young fox could be that tame. Must get fed by the golfers, frequently. I did not take this, google images, but looked like this.

Someone asked about FierceBlueBird. She was our friend, here. She died one year ago. Wish I could post her photo. If someone saved it, please share. The one on her memorial page, with her bird wallpaper....
If I was a talented writer ( RoseValley ) I would tell you all how much it meant to me to "know" her & then make peace with the knowledge that she was gone. She & the rest of the natives here, got me through the dreaded "red devil" & did what no one in my world could of.
Ok, back to being silly......

Susan you are so cute!! Love the pics

Just dropping in after a busy day of seeing my mother and helping her get to the store. Has anyone seen HI1 around?
Good to see you posting rose

December, welcome to the best place on bco! Yes, we all get it and the crying comes with the territory. Just let it all out and come here and talk about it or just read and laugh. These ladies are awesome and welcoming!
I wanted to share a pic of my soon to be 6 year old. She was at Daisy Scout camp and the theme was Super Hero's. I just love this picture, she reminds me of a little Rosie the Riveter here
