Aviva - we moved 2 cats from Las Vegas to New Zealand.
Advice we were given in addition to Feliway and Rescue Remedy (in their water) was to get the cages as early as possible and set them up in the house where the cats hang out and are comfortable, such as the living room. Take some pillow cases or small blankets that you've slept on and put them in the cages and leave the cages open. The cats will hang out in them and get used to them.Ours still complain a bit in the car, but at the vet, everyone remarks on how mellow they are in the cage when they have to stay. And it's less of a battle to get them into the cages.
