Did 45 minutes of toning with Denise Austin this morning & went to a college football game this afternoon. It is (uncharacteristically) hot and VERY humid. Blah.......we fans all SMELLED like we had been out on the field ourselves (to add insult to injury, we lost)! I feel somewhat better now that I've taken a cold shower and will much better later because we are going out for Mexican and I am definitely ordering a margarita!
*our sky is all yellow/gray from the western fires, very creepy......

Finally got a good workout at the gym today. 4 miles on treadmill and back to the leg machine weights. Still on no arm weights restrictions. Baby steps.

Hi All. Today I did 2 1/2 hours of yard work: weeding, pruning, trimming, hauling, etc. in hot, humid weather. I was filthy afterwords and probably smelled like Ruth! Clean now and wishing I had a margarita.

It was such a busy first week of school that I just realized thatI did not log on once. Catching up now. No formal exercise due to my broken toe but today I built up a sweat moving DD back to college for her junior year.
Nats- hope your eye is better. Sorry about the panda cub.
Ruth- some of our retired teachers also offer help before school starts. They also do nice surprises for us throughout the school year. So nice!

LB, Stockholm sounds awesome! I will be visiting my dad at that time though so can't make it. I'll let you know if my plans change.
Missed the Les Mills quarterly yesterday and my gym was closed due to the Street Parade in Zurich. Hope you are having a blast Cheryl!

Wild time at the market and no basil. Wild because of the high winds that arrived with the storm. Gusts were blowing the tents over. I did get back with most of what I needed but made ratatouille and not pesto. Really raining here right now, and seems to be raining in Eastern WA as well.
So hopefully an end to the fires.
Several more days of rain in the offing. Very early in the season for this to happen, and fortunately the rains came when they did. Feels like early fall here too. But did for most of the past week with cool early AM temps.
Have a great day everyone. A work day for me. Hoping to get in a run if not a 20 mile or so easy ride. - Claire

Four mile run yesterday near the cabin. Came back home early for the Nats game today. Not quite the pennant race we expected - we've gone from being 3.5 games up on July 1 to being 5.5 games back today.
Oh well - it's still nice to get out to the ballpark. 0 -
Mary, I empathize completely! Did you ever get that Jayson Werth chia-pet?
Brought two work projects home. Got one done yesterday and will start the other soon. Shouldn't take too long, just need one uninterrupted hour.
Meanwhile, walked 2.5 mile route last night and again this morning. Doing laundry now and thinking about supper. Got plenty of veggies but DH likes meat so once my kale with tomatoes & chickpeas is done I'll take a trip to the store and see what looks good for him.

hey all - 55 minute brisk walk today. Surgery Thursday (hysterectomy) with minimum 4 weeks off work. Hoping recovery goes smoothly so I'll be able to start a walk\eun program again. DS gets married next June and I want to outshine everyone except the bride and her ladies.......lol!
I don't check in as often as I should - after being in front of a computer all day it's not es exactly my go to activity when I'm at home. But I still luv u all!

annie - I didn't know I had uterine fibroids until just before my bc diagnosis but they're actually what brought the diagnosis about. I was about a year and a half post-menopausal and had some spotting (Aug 2012, had just turned 51). Hadn't been to gyno for a few years (really didn't care for my Dr) so made an appt with a co-worker's female ob\gyn. So - the spotting led me to an overdue annual exam which of course resulted in the fateful and also overdue mammogram where bc was discovered. Hysteroscopy at that time revealed numerous fibroids and she removed one or two of the larger ones. Fast forward through bi-lateral mastectomy\reconstruction process. May 2015 another spotting episode, endometrial biopsy, blood tests and even some very expensive genetic testing. All negative thank God but with bc history my gyno feels best to remove the no longer needed baby factory just to be safe. I had pelvic and vaginal ultrasounds each time and I've got fibroids both inside and outside my uterus. I'll be glad to have one less thing to worry about when it's all gone ☺

I haven't posted since Tuesday's walk/run, which made me very sore. So sore I was a slug until today. This morning I walked the dog 15 minutes. This afternoon I did a 41 minute run/walk, doing 5 runs during that time. IWish me luck at becoming a runner as it still hurts and still not fun!

Sweet, I will be thinking of you Thursday, sounds like it needs to be done and will a good thing to have behind you!!
Nats, I don't want to jinx the Twins by posting this, but they are in the hunt for the wild card in their division (if they start to lose, I am going to come back & delete this statement!).
I did the FIRM DVD Get Chisel'd today. Hard!
I bought some Skeeters today & am wearing them around the house to see if they would be a good walking/zumba/touring shoe or if I should just stick to my Nikes.

Made a new running friend and did a 10k together yesterday.
My blisters have blisters.

ran 10k Saturday. My goal was to make it to my race distance before surgery and I did it.
slacking on the strength. Nothing yesterday because I had to be to church early to help with welcome Sunday for the college students from the university across the street. Nothing yet today and maybe not at all, as I had to be out early for an ultrasound. Hoping suspicious Lymph node has gone down. Radiologists thought it was reaction to biopsy.

Sweet - good luck on Thursday! Outrunning and geewhiz - congrats on running 10K! Outrunning - good luck on the ultrasound today.
Lots of walking at Nats game yesterday - over 12,000 steps. And they even won! Badger - yes, I did get the Jayson Werth chia pet, but haven't gotten it started yet. Will post pix when I do!
Pilates DVD this morning.

Thanks Nats. Good news. Lymph node was back to normal. It WAS still reacting to the biopsy when seen to be swollen on the MRI. So now I just have to make it though the look at the lymph nodes during surgery. Hopefully no surprises there and the one tiny cancerous spot will be all we're dealing with.
For celebratory exercise I walked the stairs back to my car in the garage instead of the elevator. Hard work. A whole flight and a half carrying an iced cafe mocha.

Back from Chicago where I had a fabulous time at OneLive, did half Body Pump, RPM, Body Vive, Shbam, half Body Flow, Body Jam and even though it was the biggest program of the day I could only manage 3 tracks of Body Combat - they always put it last and we'd been at it since 7am so I was exhausted and between the classes and all the walking around the convention center on Saturday I registered 44,784 steps on my Fitbit (and it doesn't seem to count my leg movements in RPM) also fun times watching instructors being pushed to their limits in Grit, yesterday was spent sightseeing then off to the airport and home but did get in 11000 steps.
Of course all of the exercising was combined with parties and pizza. Friday night went to Lou Malnattis didn't get to sleep till 3am then had to be up at 6am as the first program started at 7am and on Saturday night after the big blow out after party at almost 1am we went to Giordanos and Wendy Williams was there. The one good thing I can say about menopause/insomnia is that I can keep up with the "young ones" and "party all night" with little or no effects.
Heidi sorry you missed the Quarterly, they are so much fun and LB I just know you will have a fantastic time in Stockholm - part of OneLive was something called "The One" instructors sent in videos of themselves doing their class, LM culled them and picked a group to perform their program, the girl who won was the Body Jam girl she was amazing, she had so much energy I was doing her routine dancing in my seat, she won a trip to Stockholm. LB this is for you, this is my friend Nichol and me at the after party - you'll recognize her as the face on your BB69 release.

Wow! Two hot chicks!!!

Yea on the normal lymph node, outrunning! Definitely a walk with an iced mocha moment!
Yoga this morning, will do Zumba tonight and maybe stick around & check out the new Gentle Flow Yoga class. I am doubling up on toning these next few days because on Thursday DH, I and two friends are flying out for a week of fun in BOSTON! Since I am a history fiend, I am almost beside myself with excitement!

Outrunning great news on the lymph node and congrats to you and geewhiz on your achievement. LB forgot to say when they do "The One" in Stockholm you'll get to see the girl who won here boy can she dance, shes from Seattle and made me want to fly up there and take her class.0 -
Yesterday's exercise was limited to one hour of chasing butterflies for photography purposes. Rough day, but did get some awesome photos. Today after 5.5 hours of sleep and a full work day I'm typing from treadmill at gym. Will then move on to leg weights. I will hit at least 4 miles which is not nearly enoght. I have until 10/4 to work up to 10 mile breast cancer walk.

I think you are doing great! You just had surgery! Don't forget too much

outrunning that's good news on the lymph node! Sweet, here's to an easy recovery from your surgery.
Cheryl you are making me hungry with the pizza pictures. The closest I'm getting to pizza this week is burger patty, zucchini, marinara, which was my dinner last night and tonight. Good but not Lou's or any other pizza.
I walked 25 minutes at lunch and 21 this evening.
