21 minutes of strength training this morning. Gotta get in some more push-ups now that I can finally do real ones, before I'm not allowed to do them again for who knows how long.

9/1- happy Sept friends. One hour of resistance training at the gym today.

Cardio Sculpt this morning & tried Barre tonight. (Wow, I didn't know you could get so sweaty just standing around doing stuff with your legs!)

Hi all, have walked 30 to 50 minutes (at least ) everyday since the weekend when we arrived to start vacation. I really need to keep it up as we are enjoying our food and drink in this quaint seashore town!

And don't forget all that butt squeezing Ruth
Wonderland I'm so glad I know you too
Enjoy your vacation Reader. Scottie you should look up SoCal Lisa she takes beautiful butterfly pictures.Last night did Spin class, gosh I was so tired after my weekend I fell asleep when I got home from work and woke up ten minutes before class, luckily it was at the gym a mile from my house so I managed to only be a few minutes late and tonight was Body Jam.

Ruthbru - was Barre hard? I see the folks coming out of there just drenched so I have been a bit chicken to try it out so far.
I ran 4.19 miles (I have a new gps watch, lol - so I know exactly. I also am surprised by how SLOW I run. Geewhiz. But I guess at least I am moving!)
I have been running for 10 weeks now and just finally saw the scale move down a few pounds. Yay!

We started the running clinic again a few weeks ago, and last night was brutal!! It was 90+ degrees and humid as heck here, and the schedule called for 4+ miles of interval track work. I managed to do the entire distance, but had to take some walking breaks as the heat was miserable. But I did it! Looking forward to the end of this heat wave.
Yin yoga session this morning.

NatsFan - I can't believe you made 4 miles in those temperatures. Wowza. Good for you for taking a walk break - running in heat can be SO dangerous. not to mention draining!

Hats off to you NatsFan. it was nasty enough this morning. I can't imagine how bad it was last night.
I did 2.26 run of intervals around the neighborhood this morning at 7:30 and came back dripping..

Barre wasn't hard-hard (but it was just the first night of the first time it was offered, so maybe the teacher was just trying to lure us back), but surprisingly intense and I can sure feel it in my legs today.....so that is a good thing, right? It is hot & steamy here too......glad I am not trying to teach kids stuff this week in our old, un-airconditioned school!
WWW walked this morning out on a kind of wild trail. I will post a picture of it....no one else was out there so we had to take the 'people pictures' in two groups.

Back at the gym today. 4+ miles and leg weights. Arms and shoulders have to wait another week or two but back to abdominals. PT tomorrow.
Cheryl . . .thanks for the suggestion. I joined the photography board with SoCalLisa. Posted my butterfly collage there. It really was fun "chasing butterflies" especially with dh's help and no kiddos in tow (mine are 19 and 13 and stayed home).

Catching up after a busy week but have been exercising.
Reader, have a wonderful vacation.
Nats, you're awesome. It was brutal yesterday. We were having our AC unit replaced
. Cheryl, your recent exercise schedule had me tired! Are you trying to challenge Ruth for the energizer bunny status or what???
Exercise on Monday was bootcamp, exercise yesterday was lots of steps while supervising the new air-conditioner installation. Exercise today was 45 minutes of aqua jogging.

I cede the Energizer Bunny Title to Cheryl.....she is ALWAYS on the move!
I spent most of the day getting organized for my Boston trip (I am a terrible procrastinator when it comes to packing) and went to yoga tonight. Tomorrow about this time I should be finishing a nice seafood dinner at the Union Oyster House!

Have fun Ruth. Well done Annie! Vi-box yesterday and now, with freedom as school started today, I'm relishing this alone..yoga later.

What is Vi-box Lilac?
Crazy exercise night for me - DH and son went with me to park. DH ran 4 miles all sub 7 minutes.Good for him but slightly annoying since I am the tortoise here. My youngest son ran with me, in front of me...beside me...around a tree...zigzags...also stopped dead in his tracks for a cool rock making me tumble right on top of him and even picked up a stick to swat mosquitoes from us and I was pretty sure I was going to be rapped upside the head at any point. We made 2 miles and some great memories

This morning between catching two buses to and from routine scan at the hospital where I go, I did over 1500 steps. Getting too hot and humid now to do anything else, so I think I'm done for the day.

Geewhiz - sounds like a fun run with your son! And I'm a tortoise too - I can't imagine running sub-7 minute miles - I'm lucky if I can do that on my bike!!!
Ruth - you-re going to love Boston! Any chance of catching a game at Fenway while you're there? Lilac - Vi-box sounds like an intense workout!
Three mile run this morning - I got out at 5:30 to avoid the heat, and it was STILL warm and humid.I'm hating this heat wave. Lots of deer out before dawn. I have one of those little belt running lights so I can see but it's only good for 20 feet or so ahead of me. I was running along, and suddenly my light showed 6 deer blocking the sidewalk in front of me - 4 does and two fawns. The 6 of them just stood there watching me, not moving off the sidewalk at all. It was if they were daring me to keep coming! Finally when I got within about 10 feet they deigned to move. Sheesh!

lol Nats, I had a deer walk right up to me once. I was visiting my mom's parents when it happened. They lived out in the country and at the time I was helping my grandfather with their garden and he noticed the deer walking right up to me and told me to stand still. It walked right up to within a few feet of me and stood there for about 5 minutes before it walked away.

My trainer is back from vacation. 1 hour hard workout strength training. I hurt already, which is not a good sign for tomorrow. New thing for me today. TRX pike. Fun but HARD!

Wow, I have fallen behind again! Hello everybody! LB and Cheryl, I did my first Les Mills Body Pump class last night after drinking beer all afternoon at a company picnic
Good grief! I can barely move today and I know tomorrow is going to be even worse. I like to think I'm in pretty good shape, but that class kicked my butt! The music was awesome and our instructor was fun and motivating. Can't wait to do it again. I was a little paranoid about the lifting though. Still worry about lymphedema. Only had the one node removed so I should be low risk but this was the first time I did that much lifting. Hoping it's okay. Just about finished with my Jacobs Ladder Mt. Everest challenge at the gym. Can't wait as it is seriously cutting into my running time. I have two races in September that I should be training for and I'm spending all my time climbing. Only about 4,000 feet to go...
Nats, so sorry about the panda. Made me sad. Sweet, good luck with surgery! Ruth, have fun in Boston!

Hi again all! Jealous of everyone's workouts (hahaha - like I can be anywhere near justified in that. It's not like I've been playing to role of Denise Austin or anything remotely near it lately!
Surgery went fabulously PTL. Dr Bayne told DH my uterus was 'yucky', meaning covered with lots of fibroids, a couple of which she described as 'massive' - yikes! It totally explains why my ob/gyn doctors for years have told me my uterus was 'enlarged' or 'larger than normal'. Bottom line - hysterectomy was absolutely the right move. I get to see color pictures of my 'innards' at my follow-up which I think is pretty cool. DH already saw them while I was in post-op room. Surgery was 7:30am EST and I got home around 1pm. DH and DM (dear mommy) were at the hospital and spent the afternoon with me. Mom picked up Arby's for a late lunch - yummy!!!! We yacked and yacked all afternoon and I still feel pretty fine. DH made prepared tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner and even bought me my one of my favorite treats at the bakery - glazed donut holes, mmmmmmmm! I made the conscious decision to break my own recently made rule about donut holes for surgery day - they're one of my comfort foods. No pain meds necessary as yet although I am starting to get a headache. Been drinking lots of water, and yes, I'm behaving. I have no problem at all being lazy at any given moment, and now I even have doctor's orders to be a slug.......I'm in heaven....lol! DD is coming in from Maryland on Saturday for a week. DS and fiancé are coming late Saturday and spending the night. First time in just over a year since DD has been home and we've all been in the same house at the same time together

Oh, btw, I overheard my post-op nurse tell the next nurse she handed me off to that I've got serious sleep apnea. I knew it! I had already scheduled an appointment with the sleep disorder clinic earlier this year for July 16 but it was rescheduled for September 24. At this point I'd be willing to sleep with a football helmet on if it would help me get a solid 7-8 hours of sleep in a row. It's been at least 10 years since I've had what is commonly known as 'a good night's sleep'.
Love to all - I'm going to resume my couch potato stance now
xoxoxoxoxo

Sweet, jealous of your slug status.. ha ha Glad the surgery went well and you will have your family around you this weekend. Just rest and let them pamper you.
Ruth, have a great time in Boston. Enjoy some good seafood for me!
Geewhiz, add me to the tortoise club. I am a slow and steady runner myself.
Natsfan, applaud you for getting out early for your run. It was brutal here today.
Exercise for me today was bootcamp tonight. Hoping to get some pool time tomorrow before the expected storms.
Sweet dreams my sculpted sisters.

Hi ladies. Your posts are inspiring.
I was diagnosed 15 months ago and have had 5 surgeries in that time. About to have my 6th. I know I need to get more active but I'm just not doing much. Maybe the accountability of posting here will help. And the inspiration of you all.
Thanks.

Welcome calidancer and AmyA!
Glad you could join us and hope you don't mind the occasional nagging voices which keep us motivated. Funny how peer pressure still works as we get older
