Chevy good luck with the toliet. We saw pictures of Colorado on the news! Pretty wintery scenes but wow lots of snow. My little adopted daughters are teeny. I am always telling them it's neat to be petite! One is 4 ft 8 inches and the other 4 ft 11! We finally got rid of this antique dresser we had for years and bought her a lower one where she could see into the drawers! It had a big mirror for a 14 year old to prance in front of! Better fit for sure.

Sassy we bought and sold quite a few things on Craig's list and have never had any issues. Good luck rehoming what ever you are getting rid of. The only time I feel sad about Craig's list is when they are selling animals. I worry that no one investigates the new home and intentions.

Patty you sound so good! I am thrilled you are back in the saddle. Are you taking Ibrance is that the med that has resurrected you? I hope it works for years. It's a gorgeous sunny day finally!

Yes, CHEVY & DDs are shorty heads. My near 6 foot frame is jealous. Never wore heels, my huge feet are an embarrassment, always wished I was 5' 5". But, my father reminded me, over & over, at least you have feet. Think of all those poor people with no feet.

Cold here, we have had a lot of wind. I have been lazy, eating too much junk. Typical early winter weight gain.

HOOTIE Hoo Patty, YA for feeling human.

Queens, so exciting, a opera weekend. I am jealous. I know nothing about the opera, but find it fascinating. I saw phantom of the opera in Seattle. Does that count?

    Happy Saturday to all.....

I'm 5'4, my DD is 5'11. She was self conscious about her height. Especially her feet. My dad, who was a contractor, always told her everything needs a firm foundation.

Holeinone: if you saw Phantom of the Opera live, then you're probably closer to a lot of 'opera' than you realize!

Spookie: my sympathies to DD. I'm only 5'4" but have the foundations of basketball-playing drag queens.

One time in grade-school, they had a photographer come out and take a picture of me, the shortest in the whole school, and this other little girl who was about a foot or more taller than I.... The whole idea was to write about the differences in children, different heights, but the same age. ALthough, I was the FASTEST one of all! They called me Mighty Mouse!

I even got on the bus for free with my friends, because I was so much shorter.... BUT, I couldn't ride the roller-coaster at Elitch's because I wasn't tall enough! Scared AND I didn't get breasts until I was in Junior high school! My girl-friend Anna had the biggest boobs in our whole class. I must have been traumatized from all these inadequacies... Ha!

I was so jealous of taller girls! My shoe size used to be 5.... but now it is 6.... AND the Dentist says he has never SEEN such a small mouth....I only have room for 12 teeth on the top and the.bottom.... so my teeth came in everywhere! Had to have them pulled, plus the Wisdom teeth.

My girlfriend that I worked with used to be able to stick her fist inside her mouth! They guys just died laughing!

When we would go out after work, (our Husbands were hunting) , she would be able to put a whole shot glass in her mouth, and drink it THAT way! Much to the delight of all in that Bar!

I must be an anomaly. That is someone who is not normal. But you all knew that....

I was 5'4" and the shortest person in my family. Now with age-related shrinking, I'm 5'2". I have never thought of myself as short and am surprised when other people think I am. Now at the animal shelter, I have to stand on something to interact with cats in the top cages. Talk about precarious! Taking one out of a cage is difficult. I worry that I'll back off and fall if the cat gives me any sass. I expect my 11yo GS to be my height at Thanksgiving. He was almost as tall last summer.

  • Spookie, I have also heard that weight machines make excellent clothes racks, as well.

I've got you beat, Chevy, I don't quite make 5' 1". I have the feet of a much taller person, though. I tell people it's so I won't tip over. How are you guys flushing the toilet in the meantime? Please tell me you are flushing the toilet! Shocked

I figured out how to shovel snow one handed. You push the snow along the driveway with the shovel, then when you get to the grass, instead of lifting the shovel, you use your foot to sort of kick the shovel into the air and onto the snowbank so you can dump it. Sure is slow going, though. Makes your leg tired!

Cubbie, the guy next to me at the SPCA bought the TREK for the same 12$. They looked it up on the net and it was near 600$. He fixed the gears while standing at the checkout. Mines going to be more work. He was a nice guy. He actually had claim on both, but let me have the motorcane. He rode out on his bike :) I love my SPCA thrift. It's actually still a thrift store. The rest of the thrifts in town have raised their prices so much, I rarely buy.

    Loved when that happened :)

  • Sas, lucky guy, it is a nice bike. I had a co-worker who worked in bike shop all through high school and college, so he fixed a couple of things for me and cut down the handlebars to fit my gnome-sized self. I got mine on Ebay. Our thrifts tend to not have high end items in them. I think people around here sell stuff like that at garage sales instead, rather than donate.

Cubbie, the SPCA is the biggest charity in town maybe that's why it gets such good stuff. It's also the busiest store in town per square foot. 97% of the revenue goes to the dogs and cats. I have found some amazing things. I'm so stuffed with stuff, I thrift and then give a lot of it away. The fun is in the hunt :) I'm rehoming things LOL.

  • Sas, I like browsing the thrift stores, even if I don't buy. I got some great post surgery clothes from our shops and only spent about $15 total. I'm more inclined to give stuff away at this point, though. I've sent boxes and boxes of stuff to thrift this past year.

To flush..... I'm on top of this one! The tank lid is off.... so we just lift the flapper with this "flap-lifter" ....then the water goes down as normal.... And the flap goes down as usual...... and the tank fills up.... (flap-lifter) is a long garden fork...Winking)

Oh but NOW DH thought the handle needed fixing.... He took it off, to "fix" it.... but then he lost it.... somewhere between here and the garage.... At first I was just p.o'd.... But then I felt bad.... He tries so hard to do the things that he used to do.... but what can I say.... he tries....

So we'll pick up another handle with that rod on it that the chain hooks onto....

Pretty soon I'm going to restrict him from the bathroom.... make him use the ditch.... Ha!

Oh yeah, Sas likes to go thrifting. Not only at her town, but she knows where 4-5 are here too!! She always finds something. I don't know squat about collectibles.

I didn't realize how petite most of you are. Four of my brothers are near 6'. I'm 5'5" and a HALF. One of my younger Sis is 5'7". Don't know how my siblings get that tall because both of my parents are small...

Kath, Mitzy is a bit better when left alone. She had some good days based on what we saw on the webcam. It makes us feel at peace when we see her sleeping in her crate when she is at home by herself. I think she has PTSD. She is still terrified of crowded places. Took her for a walk this morning and she was doing great until we approached the park where people often come for baseball or soccer games. She went into a panic mode as soon as she hears all the commotion at the soccer game. Had to make a U turn. We are leaving next week for Hawaii and need to board her. Really hope she will be o

    spookie, OMD, brrrrrrr!

Chevy, why not bike now? It will keep you warm and agile and lubricated! Spring is for planting and picking.

I'm 5'6". DD is 5', oldest son is 6'2", youngest son is 5'9. Update on Nick-his surgery is schedule for the 14. Santa is going to bring him a new leg! We are all excited for him. Hoping this help and he finally gets some relief. Even phantom pain will be better than what he has. He says he stays at 8-10 most days now.

Enerva, are roads like that by you

Everybody have a good rest of the weekend. Going out to dinner for DD birthday. She 46 today. Would you believe she was born in a car??

Sas, I thought that snow in Canada was going to say Japan. It looks like that in the mountains near DS. It is unbelievable to see.
