    Friday's Funnies #38

Those of us who spend much time in a doctor's office should appreciate this!
Doesn't it seem more and more that physicians are running their practices like an assembly line?

    Here's what happened to Kevin:

Kevin walked into a doctor's office and the receptionist asked him what he had. Kevin said: "Shingles." So she wrote down his name, address, medical insurance number and told him to have a seat.

    image

Fifteen minutes later a nurse's aide came out and asked Kevin what he had....
Kevin said, "Shingles." So she wrote down his height, weight, a complete medical history and told Kevin to wait in the examining room.

A half hour later a nurse came in and asked Kevin what he had. Kevin said, "Shingles." So the nurse gave Kevin a blood test, a blood pressure test, an electrocardiogram, and told Kevin to take off all his clothes and wait for the doctor.

    image

An hour later the doctor came in and found Kevin sitting patiently in the nude and asked Kevin what he had.

Kevin said, "Shingles." The doctor asked, "Where?"

Kevin said, "Outside on the truck."

"Where do you want me to unload 'em??"
  • Chevy. Too funny! Leave it to a man and his one worded answers to mess that one up.

  • chevy. Hello. I am always up this early. Alarm set for 6 a.m. for school for kids and work for dh. I usually lay back down and take a nap as soon as they leave. But today I don't need to

Morning Owlies, it's already midmorning. The different glasses aren't hurting as bad. Maybe I just have to part with the pair that were causing me troubles. Always sumpin.

Has anyone sold anything on Craigslist? Any pointers? I plan to meet the buyer some where else than my home. I've heard that's best for security reasons.

The peanutsize me thing was really fun. Kathy suggested we should all do it. How about doing it for Thanksgiving?

Hey smarty, cute that they are all together. I caught up, but have already forgotten. Memory-ugh! It would be fun like Kathy suggested to do it all at one time. Thanksgiving and that weekend or a little longer would be fun. We'd all really look like family. Plus, there are enough days to allow folks like me that haven't done it yet to figure it out. They are all so cute. If I remember correctly, you are the cute blondie in the upper right corner? I know Chevy did me. I'm think I'm the one in the middle? Loverly is the princess, bottom left?

Going to run out to find glasses :) Thrifting of course b/c the store is close:)

Susan you look Fabulous Dahling. Your hair is beautiful. Is your color all natural. Looks like you have highlights? You would be the last person in the room to be picked out as stage 4. What are you doing?

Just got back from a long walk and someone is tired.

Do you notice the foam sticking out of her mat (by the wall side)? Since I bought it, have not had to use the zipper to remove the fabric to wash because Mitzy had decided one day to create a big enough hole for me on the opposite end. Her separation anxiety has improved, but I still don't trust her with a new bed or blanket

Our mahogany wood floor is also now paw-scraped.....oh well. But, she has given us much love in return

Susan, nice tan. Was that in Cancun?

Ms. Sas, you definitely need a new pair of glasses. Hahahaha Ms. Smaarty is the princess. Mine is the one with black hair with miss matched clothes/accessories.

The blog is hilarious , Ms. CHEVY

Hootie hoo Hole-In-one. Thrifted this today. Mine needs work. Maybe more than I want to do. 12$ Motorcane Jubilee DLX. List price anywhere from 400-895$. Fixing it up could be expensive? May just give it to DS to give to a guy that does bikes. Dunno. I know so much about bikes LOL, I thought it was a guys bike and the search tells me it's a girls bike.

Loverly, so happy Mitsy is settling. It sounded iffy. If she's doing this good now, it should be easy-peasy by 6 month mark, and heaven by 1 year. I love rescue's. My two just walk around wagging their tails all the time. Shatzi has had an easy life. Dini though was abused. DBF took him in, but DBF truly had no clue how to handle a dog. I had to train both of them. Dini was easier to train than DBF. If DBF and I were to really break up ever, we've already decided that Dini stays with me. Counselor and I reviewed DBF & mine relationship last visit. We had lots of laughs. He said I'd be crazy to ditch him he's so domesticated now.

Susan, You look beautiful each way straight and curly. I splurged and got some Redkin clarifying shampoo. Things were crazy that day. I threw it out apparently. Too many bags. The hairdresser used it on me and I loved how shiny and bright it made my hair. Oh well.......What's up with Claire? How's the pregnancy going? Any new pics? How is DSIL handling this, we bypassed him entirely LOL. What do you think of my bike?

    Simplicity...........doing okay?

    Mema? eyes? Pain?

Not likely............not positive...........It was fun in the old days when the surprise would happen. That's the way it happened to my parents.....

Being a mom of twins, depending on their size they can hide behind one another. After my heartbeat interfered with getting a viable heartbeat for one of my twins, my OB always did ultrasounds.

Like your bike Sas. I definitely would like to find a nice skirt (girls) bike. One of my DDs is really into bikes. She wanted me to try hers. At 5'2'', I couldn't clear her bar comfortably. Did want to take a chance coming down on it, OUCH.

How are you doing today Patty? Have fun with the kids over their Thanksgiving break.

Lover, has Mitzy settled down when you leave her alone?

  • Patty, nine days with the kids? Sounds like fun, but I bet you will be ready to send them off to school again by day 10! Reminds me of the big Christmas breaks we used to get when I was a kid. I still remember the wonderful Christmas break I spent doing craft projects at the kitchen table with my Dad. I must have been about 10.

Susan, I was going to ask where you were in that picture. I didn't think they have palm trees in Lake Zurich! I vote we all spend the winter in that gorgeous place instead. We're expecting big snow tonight where I am. I'm making my nephew do the shoveling this year. He's in for a rude awakening, two houses of shoveling is a lot of work. I felt bad for him, and keep having to remind myself that I've been doing it for years, and if his sorta old aunt can do it, he can.

Mags, that's right, get us all set to eat ten pounds of turkey next week! Or in my case, frozen pizza since the family cooking standoff continues.

Sas, nice bike. I have a Trek 7500 I got secondhand, it was a really good deal.

Sas, LOL at Dini being easier to train than DBF! I've lost hair supplies, too. I went to Walmart once, bought some hair dye, came home and it was gone. The only thing I can figure is that I left it at the checkout counter.

  • susan. You look great. I agree with SAS , you would be the last person in a group to be picked out as stage IV. Twins !! How exciting ! You can't talk about snow and show that pic all in the same breath.

    Smarty - nice collage

    Sas - nice bike

    Loveroflife - Mitzi pretty

Chevy - got snow on the ground ?

    Hugs all around. Hootie hoo

A friend's daughter had twins that weren't discovered until delivery. One was hiding behind the other. They were fraternal, one girl and one boy.

  • lol. Talk about being unprepared

It is so COLD out! Yes Peppermint..... snow on the ground, but not very much.... just cold and icy...

I had a bike once.... and could ride it really good, but stopping, and getting off, without leaning against something was a real problem! I remember one time, falling off my Brothers bike, coming home from the store, and laying in the curb... A lady came out, and made me lay on the grass until I could get on my feet, and bike again, and ride back home... but I thought I was injured for LIFE! I was about 10 I think.... I thought I broke everything down there! I think I was too embarrassed to even tell anybody...

But the bike I bought for $20 from a yard sale, made me crazy enough to think I could do it AGAIN! I finally gave it away.... Not enough places to lean against to start and stop....Winking

So after I broke my hip, the doc said to get one of those stationery bikes.... a "recumbent bike?" So I have one, put it together, and tried it out... But it is covered, and waiting until Spring for me to try again.... Too much yard work, etc. to spend time on my bike.... Ha! But the Doc said it would be better for my hip than walking! So I will wait until Spring... You can get out of breath FAST on that thing!

Our toilet will not flush using the damn handle. The flapper thing that attaches to the little chain is broke... So I took a picture, and looked it up, and we'll get that thing, and when Janie & Matt come over for Thanksgiving, they can fix it.

DH can't see it hardly... And his one hand is sort of crippled, so he can't do it this time.... It's okay...! We are going Tuesday for his Eye Surgeon appointment... Then schedule the surgery for his cataract.

He has Dupetryn's Syndrome in his right hand... It pulls his little finger and the 2 next to it inwards to his palm.... It doesn't hurt.... and could probably be "fixed".... but at his age, he doesn't want to do it.... The tendons somehow harden, and your fingers get drawn in....

And that's our medical report for today.... Other than my lower partial needs adjusted so I can actually WEAR the damn thing! It HURTS my gum, and I'm going in Monday Morning....

I've heard those things make good clothes racks??

  • queenmomcat
    queenmomcat Posts: 2,020

    Very good clothes racks.

A shout out to Luvsmygoats: Thank you for sending that link to the tea shops of Chicago. Staying over in Chicago for an opera weekend, and I stopped at Adagio yesterday. Assam harmony, assam melody, golden monkey and earl grey bravo, and (a goof) TWO bags of an oolong, wuyi ensemble. The goof lies mainly in that oolongs aren't my favorite subset of teas, but having tried two cups of the wuyi, I think I just didn't find the right oolong.

Second (minor) goof: realizing that the hotel room didn't have a tea strainer! So I got some of those 'tea filters' (looks like a sock, pour the tea leaves in at the open end, dip the closed end into the water.) Not great, but better than staring wistfully at the packets on the counter.

  • Chevy. - i agree good clothes rack. You are so very funny. I am imagining you needing something to stop and start with. Were you too short ? Thanks to the internet , we can fix nearly anything now huh?

Off to another good day. Woo hoo
