saw that video, makes you think twice about eating an ice cream cone! 😛

Since my hysterectomy I don't have the same problems anymore, who knew an enlarged uterus could cause such problems! I know, TMI.

Nice to see you blondie, say hi at least once a week so we know you're still kicking!

I visited the Phillipines once which also had holes in the floor. Lucky for me they also had one Western toilet. I made a point of not having my period over there by changing my cycle. Got pills from Gyn to take. Can't imagine being on the rag anywhere in Asia.

Sassy, they have regular toilets in Great Britain and Ireland. You can go there (pun intended) 😅

Going to go finish up that table topper. BBL

  • www poo talk. Sas hasn't chimed in,? Thought she was our poo expert after all the time de as spent researching it.

    Sas. Hugs

Chevy. - yea! Totge working toilet.

Blondie. - big hugs. I've missed you. How are you ?

Spookie- crock pot beef stew sounds great. I gotta look up that recipe.

Smarty - moving your mom in a asst living place has got to be hard esp if she doesn't want to. Not sure when we flip responsibilities. From s child of our parents who take care of us, to us taking the parenting role with our parents. Is sad really.

Lovely - when did you move to USA? Have fun in Hawaii. Of course take some good pics to share with us. I remember my dad and step mom sent to Hawaii and loved it. My dad received an all expenses paid trip from his work place. He worked there 20 years and never took a sick day or called in for any reason. Yes he did tske his vacation days.

Still feeling great. I know, y'all probably sick of hearing how I am doing everyday. It's just I am so very excited about how good I am doing I can't keep quiet about it.

    Hugs all around

    Hootie hoo

Then we went to Murdock's to get some Kerosene for out little heater.... I love that thing...! Then to the Dollar store.... I mean the $20 store.

Patty, I wasn't going to post about pooping and crock pots in the same post, BUTT since you mock my interest in relieving the distress of the plugged up. I will.

Crock potts---Rival Crock Pot--Slow Cooker Recipes All Occasions --cookbook. Lot's of fun recipes. But I basically just throw in whatever I have. I've done pork, chicken, and beef. I have the large Rival Smart Pot. Settings for 4-6-8-10 hours. For Donnie and I, I can figure at least 6 meals per pot. Start with the broth. I use 48ozs(varies) Then add the spices. I use tarragon, thyme, rosemary, bay leaf, parsley. Sometimes cilantro, paprika, or whatever sounds good. Usually about 1tsp to a tablespoon of each. Rosemary about a tsp as it's strong. Garlic either fresh or ground. I let them soak in the warming pot for 1/2 hr to 1hr. 1 diced medium onion and 2 stalks diced celery. Meat- beef, usually a chuck roast. I'm use a size that fits snuggly in the pot and then when it cooks it shrinks. Chicken I use chicken tenders family pack probably more than a dozen in the pack. Pork a roast size. Can use tenderloins too. Toss in some potatoes either whole or halved. Baby carrots. Mushrooms, I prefer whole as they will shrink. Whole or quartered onions. Cup of white wine for pork and chicken, and red wine for beef (optional). A splash or a few of white worchester or dark. Cook on high for an hour or so, then turn to low for 8-10hours. All kinds of variations on time depending when I want it done. I don't thicken the broth usually, but that can be done. I have made dumplings. With dumplings you can remove some of the food and set aside b/c you will turn the heat back up to high to cook the dumplings.. Do the salt balancing about 15 minutes before serving to allow it to meld. Start with a teaspoon and work up to what you prefer.

Chili is nice in a crock pot too. Serving, I use the flat rimmed soup bowls as the broth is usually not thickened.

With feeding 4 at once, how you will vary what you are doing to get more than one meal out of the one cooking is I suppose practice as you go. What I love about it is it's simple and always tastes great b/c the slow cooking draws out such great flavor.

Well, as you can see, some of us like to cook more than others. I'm a lazy slug. McCormicks dry package beef stew seasonings. But as Ms Gormet said, drop in what you have, sounds good. Turn it on, you're golden.

All done. This goes to niece and nephew for Christmas. About 40" across.

Now I have 2 pillows to do for Christmas. Then decide if I'm going to get a quilt done for a 5 yr old. I can always give it to him for bd in February.

Dinner already done, made soup. Just need to toast some bread with it. Going for a walk. BBL

Neat! With a mitten flap you can have the best of both worlds for when you need to be able to handle things more easily with your fingers or for when it's reallllly cold and you need mittens. Enerva, you are so talented. Wish I had your talent. All I could do was two different crochet patterns and I've forgotten how to do one of them. Still know how to do broomstick lace so I can always make a baby blanket or shawl (if I wanted to).

It's freezing here too.. got space heaters on.. can't get warm. Frost all over the grass and cold drizzle..29 last night. Took all my Bgonias in so they wouldn't freeze. Even my outside cat looked up and turned away at an offer to go outside. Nope.. he's curled up in DD3s rocker. Smart 15 year old cat.. too cold for old bones. My 11 year old border collie is curled up in her costco bed. I asked her if she wanted to go outside and she rolled over and wagged her tail! Nope. DH just finished this puzzle... wetlands teeny tiny pieces and so detailed. DD3 gave up helping him too hard she said!

Love the gloves they look so warm. Wish I learned to knit. So Spookiesmom what's the temp in Sunny Florida?

63* in Cocoa Florida. House is 75* without the heat being on. YAY all my energy conservation stuff is working.

  • I am with Sas, never going anywhere without western plumbing!

Mags, the house in Japan sounds fascinating. I like Japanese architecture, just not their plumbing!

Smaarty, I don't even want to think about how to handle "that time of the month" in Asia. Those ladies are tougher than I am. The table topper is beautiful, the light colored squares look like a big snowflake.

Chevy, does anything at the dollar store still cost a dollar? No wonder it's the $20 store.

Enerva, I thought Canadian Hell was located someplace even further north, maybe up around Churchill? No polar bears walking down your street! I'm sure it's plenty cold though. Whenever I miss Canada, I check the weather and see how cold it is. Your fingerless gloves are beautiful. I love that pattern.

Rose, you have a border collie? I had a border collie mix as a kid, smartest dog in the world, too smart for his own good. He was a real character.

Now Rose, let's not encourage Spookie....she has been pretty funny, her last several posts. Blame it all on CHEVY......

CHEVY, your house is cool. So much history. Thank goodness, indoor plumping exists. Outhouses are ok if you are camping or on the river, but in the winter.....brrrrr. Sounds cold & scary. I guess that is sumpthin we can all be great full for.

Going to get very cold & snow in the next few days......not ready, guess I never will be. Watching the snow fall is comforting, like watching waves at the beach.
