Chevy, love your posts and how you tease us and we can tease you with no offense taken. I'm 65 and have a saying, "never let the child inside you die." It allows for acting silly and doing things that aren't the norm for your age. A friend's saying is, "sometimes you have to put the child back inside." That is for when she HAS to act grown up and professional. Around 12 years ago, DH and I went to San Diego. I wanted to go hot air ballooning and go up in a glider. Well we went hot air ballooning, which it turned out DH was petrified (I loved it) so I ended up going for the glider ride without him. Later he asked me whatever possessed me to want to do them. I told him I've always wanted to do them, and a few other things that I haven't done yet, but with raising children I never got to them. Then I added, "if something happens to me now doing them at least I'm not leaving you widowed with three children to raise." Boy was he surprised by that. As I've gotten older, I've become more adventuresome and he has gone in the opposite direction. Writing this has made me realized I need to finish my bucket list!

Spookie, are we in cahoots? Nah, but Chevy is an easy target isn't she? Oops, did I just say that.

Sas, so glad things are going so well for you. It's nice being in a happy place, isn't it? Sounds like dinner party was a huge success. Ahh, to the scopolamine, I have a tendency to come out of anesthesia puking my head off. Day of BC surgery had a good discussion with my anesthesiologist about this and how I was really, really worried about it happening yet again. She promised me that it wouldn't happen with what she was going to give me. It was a scopolamine patch. She kept her promise. If I ever have surgery again, I will insist on having it. She did warn me to wash my hands after taking it off because if you don't and you touch your eye you end up dilating your eye for a few hours. When it comes to the older drugs, they still work their magic. My dad had a heart attack. They were trying every new drug to stop it. Turns out they had to go to one of the first drugs to come out on the market for it to get the heart attack under control. Unfortunately, they wasted too much time and the damage was done. My dad only lasted a week. He had been complaining about a pain that came off and on in his left shoulder blade area for about a year. His doctor thought it was bursitis. Turns out the heart attack took place in the back of his heart which mimics bursitis. It was felt he was having mini heart attacks all that time. Not thrilled with that knowledge as I have developed bursitis/arthritis in my left shoulder which led to the frozen shoulder I was having last year. Plus, I fall in the 20% category of people you develop a thickening of the end of the bone that sits in the bursa. Yippee me!

Patty, you listen to Sas. She knows her stuff, and if she has doubts, she researches the hell out of it for us. Hope you get to go home soon. I'm surprised you are able to even talk when you are in the throws of a vomiting spell. It hurts to think about it.

Hello to all you beautiful ladies I did not address specifically.

  • sas thank you for the pixie dust, glad you are in a good place.

Kathindc adventures are a good thing it lifts our spirits. I have wanted to learn to knit for a number of years. I Am having my first lesson this afternoon, I hope I don't embarrass myself. It will be fun anyways.

Chevy and Spookie thank you for the laughs.

Good news my dogs leg is healing and he is moving around with greater ease

Lookforward, good luck with your class. Just remember, you're not the only one just beginning. Whatcha going to make? I need to get back to crocheting. I never had to block what I made. My mom got made at me because I hold my hook over handed. Our German neighbor told her that's how she held her hook And everybody she knew held theirs that way. One of my daughters goes to YouTube to learn how to knit.

Adventures definitely lift the soul. My first trip to Japan was by myself. I titled my journal "My Great Adventures". A year and a half ago, did Savannah by myself. I'm just hesitant to fly or drive to an unfamiliar place. Need to get over that. I research the bejeebers out of where I'm going so I'll have plenty to do. Like to walk around in new cities so I can get a feel for it.

Oh and it's going to be 74 here. :)

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

So much going on, I am learning you all slowly but surely.

Such an adorable pic of Claire

    Hugs to all

  • kathindc. Well I did embarrass myself, I showed up a week early. I have done that I few times lately. I willing to learn anything, there are so many patterns to choose, trendy vibrant colours as well. I would also like to crochet.

Lovely I have four sisters in another city who do not get along with each other from time to time. My youngest sister had a baby and did not tell one sister. The sister who did not know about the baby had cancer last year and two of my sisters didn't even phone her. I am the oldest and get along with all of them . Life is too short for this pettiness. Your poor dad.

Susan your daughter looks healthy and happy

    Cute pic of Claire!!

Loverly,, you can't make these people behave! Dang it,, they need to get over themselves and focus on the important person of the day.

Patty: I hope you get home tomorrow.

Kath: I do a lot of research when I travel too, so I can figure out what I want to do.

Sometimes I get the square,, sometimes I get the smiley face.
