Yogagirl, thank you for taking the time to put together the links, but none worked.
Evie is precious.
Thanks for the laughs ladies.
Dad's 75th Birthday this Saturday and trying to get everyone together has been a challenge. Two of my sisters don't care for one of my brother's wife who can come across brash and unfiltered. Sisters refuse to come to dinner if SIL will be present. It's Dad's BD and they can't put aside their differences. I'm stuck in the middle. Sigh. Life.

Lovely,
um, time to get blunt and tell them to stfu and put their big girl pants on.
0 -
Lover, remind your sisters ever so sternly that it's their father's 75th birthday which only comes once in a lifetime. I agree with JWoo. It's time for big girl panties. Do they not know how to tune out SIL, avoid her, ignore her? I feel for you. Don't give them the power of making you feel like you're in the middle. If they don't show up, call it the way it is, don't make excuses for them. Let it be known exactly why they don't show up.

YOU guys are all in cahoots together! Hah...! You all really made me laugh! It IS a cute little tiny square! NOT a smiley face.... I COULD take a picture of my screen, just to SHOW you your SQUARES.... ALL of them, but I would rather you think I am nuts.... or at least seeing things... It's just too fun!
Kath! I am old? My whole body is old... just not my head.... HaaaaaaaahAAAAAAAH! I can still think young, and it ain't no damn smiley-face! it is a cute tiny square... which now I don't even care about... Now watch Spookie post her WEATHER with her bogus smiley-face!
And then Phylliwhothinkssheissuperwomanorsomedamnthing comes in and remembers I have AOL.... She is the POT, and I am the KETTLE... I also have Chrome and Firefox, but for some reason, AOL is just easier to manoover... maneuveer.... maneuver around with.
I have come to the conclusion that everyone is going just plain nuts! All the cop shootings, and that shooting 6 block from our neighborhood! It just scares you to think about it! You don't feel safe anywhere you go.... even Walmart! And I think it IS that I am older... I remember my Mom would get so worried hearing stuff like this going on..... And there wasn't NEAR as many shootings then as there are now!
Kath! So funny with the owls! And Phyllidink! Did you see what you did? You called me "Cnevy"...! Haaaaaaaah! Whatever, right?
I love you guys...

Patty, thanks the shoulders getting better. Hmm vomiting 20 times a day. First thought is maybe an older drug might help. They've likely tried all the newer ones. Some older ones that are generally used as a last resort. Tigan, scopolamine, Haldol, thorazine. Haldol & thorazine are antipsychotics in higher doses, both have antiemetic effect in low doses. Thorazine is the go to drug for intractable hiccups.
Found this list of 95 drugs used for vomiting Have your doc look at it and see if any bells go off.
http://www.drugs.com/condition/nausea-vomiting.html
I'm looking at some other older drugs. A couple in mind , but want to review them.

Patty, this is a case study on a lady with intractable vomiting. You have intractable vomiting. It shows the regimen they used to get it under control and then the regimen they sent her home on. It's a multi- drug regimen.
http://hospiceofrockland.org/mdnews/case-successful-management-intractable-vomiting
Still looking
Have doc check with Anesthesia Department to see if any of the docs are proficient in acupuncture. Plus, pain management doc. I used to work with two that used acupuncture in surgery.
Donnatal is the old drug I'm thinking of. it's a combo drug. Anticholinergic, antispasmodic and sedative.
Ah-Hah, Belladona-Opium suppositories. Very old drug, used usually for bladder spasms, but their was a memory of it being used in intractable nausea. Belladonna & opium suppositories. B &O suppository. It'll put to sleep, but you likely need a sleep. B &O suppositories aren't meant for long term use, but nice to get the problem under control. But it is old(like me). Last time in the hospital I asked the doc for it, none of the other nurses had ever heard of it.
Patty, they're was a cocktail that we used in ER when someone was being sent to surgery and they hadn't been NPO long enough. Three items, but I forget. Maybe someone can pick the brain of an older person in ER.

Patty, just got to your post about the several drugs you are on. That's essentially what the case study patient was on, except she had a few more. What is nice about the case study is they showed the going home plan. Which is essentially what you are on, but all oral meds.
Patty, just read about the DNR. Stand your ground. You will know when it's time to make one.

Meadow, been off here for a couple of days. Sorry I missed you yesterday
Jwoo, thanks for the book reference. Did you see my post about the opposite kind of thing. Donnie and I were talking about all my head injuries. I could easily die of blunt head trauma and my right ankle that will kill me will never be blamed. Talked with DS Steve this weekend to make sure he understands.
Oh Smarrty Evie's a cutey. Please, keep the pics coming :)Congratulate the kids again.

On the topic of being prepared. The early days of the Death and Dying thread started by Ma111. Lot's of discussion in the first 28 pages about practical preparation things were discussed. Bon put together a synopsis on page 25 & 26 of the first 25 pages. Of particular interest on page 25 is "Bon's Bag". It's every piece of paper that is needed when the time comes. It's a masterful list. The synopsis is masterful.
I'll add a thought RE: preparing your Living Will. The inclusion or exclusion of a "feeding tube". I have it written this way in mine." If in a persistent vegetative state, the normal process of dying shall not be interfered with. Specifically, no CPR, ventilator, or feeding tube"

HootiehooJwooandhermightyMGBGT. What fun!
The party for the meet and greet of the families couldn't have been more perfect. Donnie was everyone's dream of a helpmate. The food flow couldn't be better either. Three crock pots held the main course food. All I had todo was open the bun bags. Easiest big group party ever.
Philly, but it's so nice not having to worry about messages LOL. I did get a letter from the BigWig thyroid doc's office. It was almost like a reprimand for not having an answering machine. I really do have one. Just haven't turned it on
CallingHi Yoga girl, Are you dropping by or staying? Staying is good, we are a yakkity bunch.
Hi, Lookie, FF, Kathy, mags, Teka, Spookie, Eeyore, Zills, Mammaray, Nettie and anyone else I missed.
