Welcome, Jen!
Cheryl, I didn't buy any candy either, but made up for it by eating half a cherry pie all by myself!
Yea for the happy tears, KB! I am certainly much more appreciative of, and grateful for, all the blessings of life....both big and small.
I'm off to sub.....6th grade math. Yikes!

Happy Easter Monday to all!

From Finale Ligure, mountain bike capital of the world, so the Italians say. It's beautiful in any case. Now off to explore a castle on foot.

Stunning HeidiHilland waving back at ya! KB870, you inspire me and so deserve care with concern; I'd cry too beauty. Thanks for sharing. Ruth, kids and most are off today as it's a holiday.

I didn't post much last week. I had my first week of radiation and was super busy with the grandkids plus getting ready for Easter at my house. Monday -Friday I did a work week hussle and finished with 94,545 steps. The rads haven't made me tired yet. Let's hope I can stay on top of them!

Beautiful, Heidi!
Lilac, there were too many days off because of the weather; so they needed to make up a storm day today......subbing was not that much fun because I don't really like math, and the kids were all sugared up and mad to be there on what was supposed to be a vacation day.

I took a walk after work & am now off to yoga to get my Zen back!
Yea, Vargadoll!

hi all and welcome Jenphil86. ((KB870)) I know how it feels when the gratitude swells up and spills over. In fact, I remember my first yoga session and crying during Savasana (the end rest pose). Was embarrassed at the time but understand better in hindsight.
Beautiful day, got out for a walk at noon and again after work. I must not have zeroed out the pedometer for a couple of days. It says 14.95 miles so I'm rounding up to 15 LOL.
Gorgeous pic Heidihill and WTG Vargadoll week 1 of rads done!

KB happy tears are the best. Stunning view Heidi, we've missed you. Vargadoll glad the rads were gentle on your body. Ruth those snow days are fun when they're happening but then they're have to be made up grrrr.
Tonight did Cardio Dance Party.

Vargadoll, you are doing great, those steps are helping the cancer related fatigue from rads stay low, keep at it. Now I understand Ruth, thanks. Well, now it's bras that track breathing, posture and heart rate variability (HRV): https://vitaliwear.com/ I was unsolicitedly told after my diagnosis by a women in all seriousness, that my bra was too tight and that was the reason why I got bc.

Lilac - I'm horrified and laughing at the same time about the tight bra comment. Even if she believed it why in the world would she basically tell someone with b/c that it's their own fault??????? Sheesh.
Love the pix Claire and Heidi.
KB - love the happy tears.
I'm at that annoying stage of post surgery recovery where I am feeling better but still hurting too much to do a whole lot about it. But things are healing nicely so this too shall pass. I've been binge watching the first season of Outlander. I'm working my way through the books but we don't have Starz so I've never seen series. But there was a free preview week before surgery so I took advantage and downloaded all the first year episodes in anticipation of post surgical watching. It's always interesting comparing books with movie or TV versions.
Exercise still consists of getting in and out of the recliner but I think I may try to take a walk later on today.

Nats. . .I love Outlander. Can't believe they are making us wait until Sept. for Season 3. I completely understand about your recovery. At week three I wanted to do stuff but it still hurt too much. It's better now. Hugs.
Trying to make the most of my last two weeks of recovery. Too many appts scheduled. Dreadmill yesterday 1.5 miles. I think I'm up for the walk around the lake tonight - two miles.

Glad you are on the mend, Mary.
We had thunder/lightening/rain night, which was fun as it was the first summer weather event of the year, and we need some rain to green things up. It is still cool and damp this morning so a friend and I Fitness On Demand (30 minute dance routine & 30 minute abs/buns).

Mary glad you are moving forward - up and out walking. It is funny kinda and this came about from a radio program this woman listened to called Coast To Coast as she was a big time conspiracy theory believer. Sadly, died of lung cancer June 2015 due to smoking like a chimney. Scottie, good to read you are feeling better.
Pilates this afternoon.

~Nats~
Have you checked your public library for the Outlander series on dvd or streaming video?

Nats - I'm an Outlander FREAK! Fell in love with the very first book many years ago, have read the entire series at least 3 times and anxiously await the next installment.
Today was 45 minutes of a TOUGH body sculpt class, all leg work. Managed to do ten 1-minute running segments during my 30 minute post body sculpt treadmill session. Legs were so fatigued they felt almost disconnected from my body at first but I just kept playing Paint it Black by George Harris (perfect running tempo for me) over and over and bumping my run speed up by 1\10th mph each running segment. Ended up at 6mph for the last one😊😊😊
Sleep well my sculpted sisters!

By now, I'm guessing you've seen the footage of the army veteran carrying his running guide across the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The interview above inspiresme to do better!

Wonderful story, Falconer!

yes, great story. Here is another good one from this year's Boston Marathon:

My mother ran marathons well into her seventies. Unfortunately, I didn't seem to inherit the running gene (and I don't think my knees would allow it now...)..but I still find both stories inspiring.
And I did do well today: an hours worth of laps in the pool. Followed by a soak in the hot tub...

Gosh, she looks as good now as she did then! I didn't inherit any running genes either, but somebody has to be on the sidewalk cheering the runners on!!!

Lot's of walking the past couple days...walked to Mom's yesterday which is about 3 miles each way. I wanted to check on her as Sunday her aid called in sick and there was no one to take over. Sunday I was at Mom's 3 times - in the morning to get her dressed and breakfast, to get her lunch in the afternoon and then in the evening to get her into bed. Yesterday she had both aids. It was too hot and sunny to walk over today. I sat outside reading after lunch and to a little to much sun.....I had sun screen on my lower arms, but when I took off the top and just had a sleeveless she on, I burned by the shoulders. The backs of my arms are pale!! I love sitting outside in the nice weather....I really don't like sun screen but I did put it on today and good thing. Tomorrow its back to the work week. Lots of catch

So happy and grateful! Monday was the 6-week postoperative mark for me and I celebrated by taking my expanders for their first run in 6 weeks and a day. Everything stayed attached. My knees complained a bit.
Going out again this morning.

Ran an errand this morning and a workout tonight

Here we are walking in the park. Since all our "snowbirds" (people who go south for the winter) are back, we figured it would give them a chance to wear their cold weather clothes!

Varga it's such a nice sentiment that it's worth posting again and again! Love or cheer buttons!! Let's ask the Mods.0

Vargadoll: I agree about the Love or Cheer button. Hope you have a good week with rads.
Claire: Thanks for posting your gorgeous pictures.
Ruth: Looks like your snowbirds friends had to dig out their winter clothes.
Hi Everybody! I fixed a big Easter lunch on Sunday (ham, turkey, deviled eggs, potato salad, green beans, sliced vegetables, rolls, and heirloom cake) and have been eating leftovers every day. Yum! I've been walking/running faithfully.
