A local car dealership sponsors a yearly 10 & 5K run (and a 5K walk) called The Running Of The Pink. 100% of the money raised stays local and helps fund a program that provides free mammograms and pap smears to low income women. Here are some of us WWW ladies getting ready for the event (yes, we walked......I only run if my other choice is to be left behind in an unfamiliar city of several million people
).

Last couple of days we have had company, my ex son-in-law and a friend. They are visiting for a wedding he is in that is today, and last night he asked if all the guys could get ready at our house. It is 12:30pm and they haven't shown up yet (wedding is at 4), but of course all guys have to do is shower and throw their suits on!
So with company, no exercise and lots of eating... and yes, we did see the sun, but also showers mixed in, this is the rainiest stretch I can ever remember.

Hi all. . .I'm way behind in posts again. I've been working out on the dreadmill and walking a lot. Will be adding swimming to the mix this week to work on my ROM and start rebuilding the strength in my arms and shoulders.

Finally getting to the pictures I promised from last weekend. I did a 36 mile ride today, but not at all the same as the point was to get in miles and build stamina, so boring but effective.
From my cycling and vineyard camping adventure:
Endless vista looking south west. Apple trees in the distance. This region also produces hops and cider.

Tasting room in Prosser. I carried the bottle of wine I bought there 22 miles back to my car.

Future wine...but a lot sooner. Naches Heights grows delicious Malbec, and the 2015 from Wilridge is just amazing.

Closer to home in the lower Snoqualmie Valley last Monday. Between the mountains, you can just make out a snow field which is where I did most of my winter skiing. Easy 22 mile ride that day.

Thursday I walked 45 minutes. Yesterday I mowed for 40 snd then shopped for three hours looking for shoes and sheets. Today I went for a walk at the lake 32 minutes. Summery day all of a sudde (88) so I decided to cut the walk short and went for a half hour bike ride where I can create my own breeze.

45 minutes of pilates. It is unusually warm and very summery here; which feels good, but we really, really need some rain. The farmers are getting nervous.

Unfortunately, no Daytona for me. Can't take off school midweek.
Enjoyed a day trip to NYC to see an off broadway show called Puffs. Based on the Harry Potter books, it is from the point of view of the often "overlooked" Hufflepuffs. Very funny!
Back to Zumba tomorrow.

Sorry Ginger48 that you won't be able to join us. ruthbru, you know I would not have left you behind in San Antonio last year! (Ha, you were way ahead of me!)
Just walking for the most part this weekend, and not much of that. Apparently the steroid shot in my knee 4 weeks ago did not work (think maybe pickleball, water volleyball, water aerobics and bowling have anything to do with it?). Actually only the bowling was difficult; think because there is a little twisting with that, not with the others. See ortho doc on Wednesday to discuss next steps.

Went to a POUND class at the new fitness center I've joined for the summer. I really like group classes, so it was fun. I got a message that my yoga teacher is sick, so I did a yoga DVD.
Someone asked what the new community wellness center, which will open here in the fall, will offer. Here is a list:
Activities, programs, and services offered include:
- Aquatics Center with two water slides, lap swim area, lazy river, zero-entry play area, climbing wall, warm water lesson and therapy pool, whirlpool/hot tub, and sauna.
- Learning Center childcare for children 3-5 years old and before, after, and summer programming for school age children.
- Individual cardio and strength training equipment
- Group fitness activity classrooms
- Multi-use courts (basketball, tennis, volleyball, pickleball, etc.)
- Walking/jogging track

Walked and stretched for half hour, then went home to sweep and mop the house.I managed to get 3 miles.

Go, girls, go! I'm just going to cheer you on from the sidelines. Those laps I did in the hospital are a distant memory. Must've had enough pain meds to make it around. Now, with only Tylenol, I'm going from the bed, downstairs to the couch, and back up to the bed. My PS repaired my diastasis recti (added bonus to the DIEP) and fixed a hernia there. That's where the pain doth lie. My noob and the resulting scar feel like nada compared to the center of my gut. Add an extra lap for me when you workout, would you?0

Running around with DS today which wore me out so nothing else today. Will make up with 2 hrs water volleyball and 2 hrs pickleball tomorrow. ruthbru love that picture and the wellness community center sounds great (and they have pickleball!!!). Take it easy Falconer.

Hi Everybody! We have had so much rain. Wish I could send some to Ruth and everyone else who needs it. It comes in down pours which in my house means that the water seeps into the basement forming puddles. Ugh! The wet vac sucks most of it and the dehumidifier helps.
Mowed for an hour this morning. Then showered and brought dh's 96 year old aunt to the doctor. Came back and mowed for 45 minutes with dh mowing also. I was already hot and sweaty so decided to go to the park for my walk/run. Now I'm resting with my feet up.

Love the pics, Claire and Ruth. Camping in a vineyard somehow sounds inviting even for a non-camper like me. I will check out the inflatable matresses. Ruth, that is a humongous center (or two).
Lilac, my thoughts are sadly channeled in your direction again. I just saw on YouTube that they were having a big tango festival in Borough Market just a day or two before the attack.
Falconer, hope things get better soon.
I was at a Chinese medicine practice yesterday. The practitioner had an interpreter as he spoke neither English nor German. He was trying to convince me to do acupuncture and cupping treatments but I was afraid of lymphedema as my complaints were on my at-risk, radiated side (tightness, pain, difficulty breathing at times). So I had a massage which was great. Really loosened that side up. Has anyone done cupping here?

I didn't know what cupping is so looked it up on WebMD. Yikes, there is no way I'd do it on my at risk, radiated side (or on any part of my body, for that matter) because of the possible SEs. Here's what WebMD says:
Side Effects
Cupping is fairly safe, as long as you go to a trained health professional. But you could have these side effects in the area where the cups touch your skin:
- Mild discomfort
- Burns
- Bruises
- Skin infection

Hi Friends,
I did have cupping treatments admnistered by my acupuncturist but I don't think they did anything. I did have a little bruising.
The only relief I get from soreness is from yoga and exercise. Can't wait to get back. Today I can almost stand up straight. Progress!
