2FUN - it is hard to exercise with work schedule - I literally schedule it in and do it at dinner time. Make meals with leftovers on the weekend so eliminate much cooking during the week. The benefits outweighs the work, I feel so much better after exercising and figure everything else can wait. Planning a run outside today and then housework which will keep me moving.

2FUN, I have the same scheduling issue. Their class times don't usually work with my schedule, and it's hard to change my routine. That's why I don't do classes per se and workout on my own at a 24/7 gym. They have on-demand classes but I've never seen anyone use them. Also feel shy about hogging the studio room, which is seldom unoccupied. I do miss the group dynamic in yoga practice.
Pretty morning, will walk downtown in a bit to return a library book and cruise the farmer's market. Gym later.

Did a 35 minute walk Thursday and will be mowing the lawn today after i finish my coffee.
The fitbit cartoon is so accurate. A friend got such angst when she went somewhere with lots of steps and didn't have it on. I am still relying on my Argus phone app. It will measure steps if you carry it all day but I decided to just track my exercises and time and try to get in 150 minutes or more of exercise. What makes me mad is they don't have some activities like lawn-mowing, digging and weeding or snow shoveling So I just find some activity that is close and log the time. I'm sure these trackers will improve with time.

Went to yoga class this morning. It felt great! Heading to NJ to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. He retired at the young age of 47 because he needed both hips replaced due to osteoarthritis. Yoga and running are how I'll try to keep my arthritis genes at bay. Of course, the AIs won't be my friend against this. But I've watched my dad do a lot (ok not yoga and running) but he did rebuild our house at the Jersey Shore 15 years ago. This is the first year that he said he wouldn't climb a ladder to sweep the gutters. Not bad, eh?0

Thursday night was 45 minute body sculpt and moving bedroom furniture outa the way as Friday we had some window replaced through Home Depot. After the window guys left I decided to rearrange our bedroom since everything was pushed around already.
Today just finished 90 minutes push mowing at 83 degrees and high humidity. This pup is whipped - currently sitting on floor in front of a box fan watching Fixer Upper while I cool off, then it'll be a long soak, leg shave and a good movie. Enjoying my last couple days solitude before DH is home from hunting trip.

Happy Birthday to your dad, Falconer!
The high on Tuesday was 100 degrees, today the high was 50! Geez! Tuesday I was in flip flops & today I was looking for nylons (my old lady friend's funeral was today so I had to wear 'real' shoes). This afternoon I walked for 45 minutes & did 45 minutes of toning. Now it's back to threading those darn buttons.

Feeling better, thank you! Not sure how I feel about eating yet, though, lol. I took a 45 min walk today. Summer decided to remind us it's not Fall just yet. It was still 85 when I set out this evening. Too hot for a run even if I had felt like it. Did a series of squats while cooling down.
Ruth, sounds like you are having even bigger temp swings that we are. KB canoeing and otters sounds really nice. Sweetandspecial, hope you found a good movie and had a quiet, relaxing evening after all that work. Falconer, happy birthday to your dad. Mine is 81 and very active still. He was a runner and can't do that now, but he rides his bike 20 miles 3-4 days a week when weather permitsand takes a 5 mile walk most days. Gives me hope I've got good genes.

Work has been nuts. Complicated by Irma and Harvey. I am in PA but they still cause some serious difficulties for me. Finally made it to the gym Friday and my phone started ringing as soon as I walked in. It took a half hour to solve the problem so I only got in a half hour. Went back today and did another 45 minutes.

Ran 3 miles - surprisingly as usually can't do 2 days in a row. Going to church and will pray for us all then more exercise as I jump up and down watching the Patriot's/ Saints game.

Ruth's cool weather is here, on the heels of some much-needed rain.
Chilly + damp = gym. I'm usually the oldest person there so love my new t-shirt.

Had a rest day yesterday apart from biking from restaurant to restaurant for lunch, coffee and dinner.

Badger, I need that T-shirt! I need five of those. Where did you get it? I loved that phrase when I heard it and I thought it sure pertains to us, doesn't it.
It's great to hear of 80 year old parents still riding bikes and keeping in shape. I aim to do that. Ironically my mother never really exercised and yet she is 90, so I think some of it is just genetics. She eats cookies and drinks regular cokes, and here I am exercising my fanny off and avoiding sugar and carbs. WTF. Nevertheless I persisted!
It was hot here yesterday too - after very pleasant 70s for a couple of weeks. Absolutely had to mow. so I moved the front yard 40 minutes, came in for a drink and cooled off watching trash television for an hour and then mowed the back 25 minutes.
I ended up scratching my eye somehow removing my contacts last night so had to go to the acute care. Pretty miserable today so probably no exercise nor fun today. Sigh. I am so f-ing injury prone.

Twohobbies, my mom is like yours, never exercised, hates the outdoors, still kicking it at 79. There's no rhyme or reason to it sometimes. I hope the eye heals soon. Badger, love the shirt. Soon2b, congrats on 2 run days in row.
Meal prep for the week today and I'll run or walk this evening.

Love the tee shirts. Not a tee shirt fan but I like those sayings. My exercise today was walking around Home Depot trying to find either someone to help or the item I was looking for. After about 2 trips around the store I found the shelf that houses the item and it was empty.
At the gym I go to there is a section that a group of tread mills that seem to have an older crowd using them. There is one couple that comes in. She uses a walker. The man gets her set up on the tread mill and she walks while he works out near by. It so nice to see.

Badger, how does the sizing run on those shirts? I ask because I ordered that same shirt from a different company. I ordered a 'medium' but it was so small that I had to give it to my tiny niece. It would not have been a pretty sight if I had persisted in wearing it myself

3 miles done this evening with another squat series. Tomorrow I'll throw in some lunges to see how that feels on the ol' abdomen. Tomorrow is my 6 mo follow up with my breast surgeon. I'm taking the the physical release form from Livestrong to her to fill out. My plastic surgeon's office has gotten increasingly more difficult to reach since he moved his office and I don't see him again until November. The breast surgeon has access to his records so she should be able to do it. Fingers crossed.

Hi Everybody. I returned today from my weekend camping trip for adult Girl Scout volunteers at one of our camps. Lots of walking! It's so much fun as we sign up for different classes. Some of the classes are for training purposes, while others are crafting and doing outside activities. I made my our compass, went kayaking, took pictures of the alphabet in nature, planted bulbs, and made a turkey craft out of a walnut. It's really a fun weekend for women in the woods!

Brutersmom, not to interfere with your steps around home depot, but they have an online tool that tells you if your store has it in stock, how many and what shelf space its located on. Very helpful and I wish every store did that.
I ordered a small Tshirt. That should fit but worried to hear they run small. Dont you wish sizes were consistant.
Love your adult summer camp-Wonderland. KB, I admire that you can do erging. My friend tries to get me to dragon boat and that upper body just seems hard.

I ran 3.5 miles today on our beautiful rail trail. You can see by that vein in my head I was working hard and that we caught that Midwest heatwave here!

Twohobbies, I think I will continuing touring Home depot. I just looked the item up at several stores. None of them had it listed which is odd since I just bought the item in a neighboring town. Their store site does not list the item even though I was just there and bought it. Today I went to the gym and weighed in. Down four lbs and measurements are getting smaller. Used the "Inbody" scale and it says I have increased my body mass. Motivating.

It got nice yesterday afternoon so settled for yoga at home and a nice long walk instead of the gym.
However, hit the gym 2nite. 75 min- 40 treadmill, 30 weights, and 5 foam roller. ==> 508 cal burned

6-month follow-up with onc tomorrow afternoon. Curious to see what his scale says.
