Tumor marker results and changes truqap
I have stage iv metastatic breast cancer in my bones. Multiple sites. I was on ibrance. Now on Truqap. .
My tumor markers jumped 25 points recently . My oncologist does not seem very concerned. What kind of jump have you had that the oncologist was concerned about?

Hi @nini69, and welcome
We hear from so many that it is more about the trend over time, along of course with the scanning.
Was this the first time they were elevated, or have they been going up over time?

I know we are looking for patterns and the petscan is the “real” test.
i am now on a half doseI Couldn't tolerate the higher doses .
My markers have been going up over time and are now “stabilized” and going up and down between 105-125. How high can they go? I have no idea
I am just wondering if I should be expecting them to go down to the other level of around 75 or lower if Truqap is working or if this is my new normal range.
I guess i am wondering if the half dose will work. I was on Ibrance for years
I guess I just need to wait and see. Not knowing is hard. I am wondering what others are experiencing.

@Nin69
I have been on Truqap for 24 weeks. I have just stopped it for 15 days due to severe skin rashes and I will start it again next Monday (400 mg/day).
Before starting Truqap my CEA was at 225 and it went down to 27 and my Ca15-3 from 180 to 26.
The last Pet Scan did not show any active resumption of the disease and I was super happy with my lab values. Now after 2 weeks of break my values are already going back up!
I do not know what my oncologist will think but, as for you, he always tells me that the pet scan is the reference.
I agree with you that not knowing is difficult and I am waiting with apprehension for my pet scan in December.
Courage for the rest of the treatment. Give us news.1
