Here is your Dictator for a day which we all know will go on for at least four years. When the shit hits your fan, I hope you finally GET it — you're just another dupe to be used and forgotten about.

I hope that Canada and Mexico do NOT back down. The only hope of waking up any of the MAGA cult is if it hits them right in the wallet. I hope things get very bad very fast!!!

I may have dropped this in some time back. Seeing how he is back WHERE he doesn't belong, it was a very good read once again:

A British writer penned the best description of Donald Trump I’ve ever read: “Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?” A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed. So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief. Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.

Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness. There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It’s all surface. Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront. Well, we don’t. We see it as having no inner world, no soul. And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that. He’s not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. He’s more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege. And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead. There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all. He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless – and he kicks them when they are down. So the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a third – of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think ‘Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy’ is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that:

    • Americans are supposed to be nicer than us, and mostly are.

    • You don’t need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man.

This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss. After all, it’s impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum. God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump. And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumpfuls of hair and scream in anguish: ‘My God… what… have… I… created?' If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.”

Thank God, this happened before the plane was in the air.

I can't imagine what people must be thinking now as they go to the airports to board their planes. I'd likely try to avoid flying if at all possible.

I'm not sure about all of these things. That he gets rid of people on slight whims because he needs a scapegoat for things he's done — yes. So, many of the new people could be out soon. More so if they have any issues trying to fulfill his wants list.

He doesn't read and write (even before this time) and now has dementia so I'm sure he isn't reading, let alone have any understanding of the EO's being put in front of him to sign.

I also haven't heard a thing about Melania not moving into the WH. In fact, it sounded somewhat opposite to me, but as I don't trust much of the media who knows.

True, but we tried that a couple of times before. Doesn't mean that it shouldn't happen though and be a part of his overall records.

Trump is the ultimate DEI hire, as he is disabled: intellectually and psychologically. (Alas, "morally" and "ethically" don't meet the disability criteria).

He was squawking over the FAA presumably advocating hiring the "severely disabled, intellectually challenged, mentally ill people" as well as the blind. Of course, for the positions of air traffic controller & pilot, the ADA makes an exception: keen intellect and visual acuity are, in the language of the statute, bona fide occupational qualifications, aka BFOQs. But of course he doesn't know that because he never learned that far down the alphabet.

Finally, "Vance" sounds sorta similar to "vantz," which is the Yiddish word for cockroach. Just sayin'…

Vance is a "vantz" and is as despicable as the man who hired him. May they both get facial warts that can't be removed.

When we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present--love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us pleasure--the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth.

Well, here we go again. l have to admit I'm trying not to think about it too often, but likely before long we will see shelves being emptied. I wonder if I will have to make some extreme choices about the things I want and the things I need.

I'm pretty sure some people are getting a rude awakening but just wait till later. Seems like FG and Musk are just getting warmed up.

From planes colliding in the air, to catching fire on the ground and rants about South Africa where supposedly black people are taking jobs away from white people. To try and be polite, in the head of the FG all the nuts and bolts are rolling around in total disconnected fashion. No one seems to care as yet but at some point, that REAL pain will kick in. There are those who will not even notice but for most of us, and I do hope most of all those who voted for FG on the strength of his promises to help them — are you 'woke' yet. Is paying more than ever a cure for your stupidity in hiring a demented felon. Are you proud for what you have done not only to yourself but to the rest of the world. Destabilization on the grandest of scales. My pain and the pain of millions is all on you.

But, yes. I'm trying not to think overmuch knowing that at some point I hope the Reps. understand that the problem they let go on when there was impeachment and laws to take care of it is going to eat them alive.

One little tiny bit of good news….

David Hogg, a survivor of one the deadliest school shootings who has become a progressive activist, is the first member of Gen Z to be elected as a chair of the Democratic National Committee.

The DNC elected Hogg as vice chair this weekend, calling the 24-year-old “one of the most compelling voices” of his generation.

Hogg, a survivor of the 2018 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, co-founded the gun control organization March for Our Lives. He has risen in the progressive spotlight and actively challenged Democratic leadership on what he sees as major challenges facing the party, including losing the interest of young American men.

The same year Hogg graduated from Harvard, in 2023, he co-founded and became president of Leaders We Deserve, an organization that recruits and trains progressive Gen Z candidates running for state and federal offices.
