Vance was not picked by trump but rather by the Heritage Foundation and our friends at Project 2025. I don’t think trump really cared who his VP was. In order to protect his own interests, he has made deals with more than a few devils, who often have very different motives. Look at Vance vs Musk, in terms of very different motivations that can be achieved via trump’s position. He doesn’t give a darn as long as he’s ok!

Jensy Machado, a Hispanic U.S. citizen and former Trump supporter, was stopped and briefly detained by ICE agents in Virginia. Despite showing his ID, he was handcuffed and questioned about his immigration status. Machado, who had voted for Trump, expressed his disillusionment, stating, "I was a Trump supporter. I voted for Trump last election because I thought it was going to be... just going against criminals, not every Hispanic looking... that they will assume that we are all illegals.”

“ I told the officer I could show him my ID, but he instructed me to keep my hands raised and not to move. Afterward, he ordered me to exit the vehicle and proceeded to cuff me. Then he questioned me about how I entered the country and if I was awaiting a court date or had any legal matters. And I told him I was an American citizen, and he looked at his other partner like, you know, smiling, like saying, can you believe this guy? Because he asked the other guy, 'Do you believe him?'

The incident led him to question his previous support for Trump, highlighting concerns about racial profiling and aggressive immigration enforcement. 

So much of this is due to the fact that people (many had no issues last time Trump was in the WH) have somehow falsely assumed apparently that if fine last time, they would be this time as well. This is all VERY different and in addition on many occasions Trump even explained what a good many of his intentions were this time around. Many people have now found out it wasn't just GETTING even or messing a bit with a couple of government departments. He is upending everything he can and the fact that a lot of Reps. are losing jobs and a lot of "American citizens" are being rousted is in the Trump book not worth his time and trouble. You are almost as expendable as the (in Trump's world anyway) lowly simple-minded Democrat. Welcome to our 'Democrats' world.
