I am going to post, hope it shows up because I just found tigger IN the washer. I know there would be no way I would miss that but goodness, closed washer doors and that way if he decides to do it again, he will be on top which does not bother me. Might also keep the door closed to the bathroom overnight. There are better places for the cat

Good early morning all. Mara, bet that scared the heck out of you finding kitty where he didn't belong. A good friend lost their kitty to a garage door incident years ago. I'm so grateful that the doors now stop if the sensor picks up on a object. DH didn't park the car in far enough and fortunately the sensors worked.
We ordered Cracker Barrel tonight for delivery. DH didn't want to drive and tonight was turkey special, so I asked nicely and received a lovely meal. I did notice they have cut way back on amount of food but not quality. Still enjoyable especially with the sage stuffing. The Factor box included a meal of stroganoff hamburger with mushrooms, small boiled potatoes and delightfully tasting green beans. Can't put my finger on the spice used, but they were tasty and not hard or stringy. Cut way back on beef and going with more chicken, turkey meals.
Pigeon goes to vet tomorrow. She has a foul odor in her abdominal area. UTI??? Anal glands?? Don't know, but she doesn't have fever, eats fine and seems to act normal. Mama, Minnie Mouse has what I believe are beginning stages of doggie dementia. DH walks the two together early in morning, sometimes Minnie just freezes up and has a far away stare. I've noticed it here in the house. No accidents, nothing about her demeanor changes, just a sad thing to watch. She comes out of it without any residual problems, or at least so far.
It's hot and humid. Watching tropics carefully for any westward changes in the projected path for Hurricane Erin. Stocked up on water and paper products. DH will test run the generator this week. He's grocery shopping tomorrow to beat the crowds. Nothing written in stone, but we believe if it or one does hit us as stage 1 to 3, we will stay. Otherwise we will evacuate. There's a fairgrounds inland that accepts pets that are caged along with sleeping area that's less than hotel equipped, but it'll work. One thing we always forget to stock up on is cash. Without electricity stores that are open require cash. I've asked DD to make plans to come here. She is less then worried about such things.
In pockets for all those medical appts. Mara and for any one else waiting for test results and appts., too.

Irish, I am sorry about your dog but glad that you had a good meal at Cracker Barrel and that your Factor box had some really good food in it to eat. Sounds great.
I did get to bed at a civilized hour and woke early for me. Slept pretty well. I have my echo so going out this morning but that is fine, should be home earlier. Tomorrow have my CT scan in the afternoon, need to make sure I stop eating 4 hours before. Next week have Herceptin on Wednesday. Put extra money on my Paratransit card.
DB did text me about going out around 6pm but turned him down this time as I did feel tired yesterday. Told him to have a good trip next week as it will be his wedding anniversary.
Not too much happening this morning, probably make egg and meat pie and get ready quickly as well. Put some coverup and bb cream on and ready to go.
Something with an egg will be on the way, prehaps a soft tortilla and an egg, I will see. Not sure about later.
I do hope everyone has a good day, hopefully comment section is fixed my mods. In pockets for everyone who needs me.

Update, Tigger is still on top of the washers, usually likes both but as long as they are not open that is fine, warm air is what he is looking for I think. I will just take a dry towel and wipe both out and keep lids closed for his safety. He knows Ava does not go anywhere but in the window so for him, the tops of my washers or the sink are fair game. He is happy in there.

@mara51506 - You know I am in your pocket for your echo and scan. Fingers crossed that both turn out very well!
@irishlove - I know what you mean about doggie dementia. I known and had pets where that became a factor. You are right about how sad it is to see. In your pocket for hurricane safety. I will be thinking of you!
@shanagirl - Shana, how are you? Please give us an update if and when you feel like it. Hope all is well.
@micmel - Hi Mel! Thinking of you and yours. Please let us know how you are doing if and when you can. You are often in my thoughts.

Irishlove, it sounds like your dog may be having seizures. My granddog was on phenobarbital for hers.

So as usual, I was starving after leaving the hospital so ordered food. Decided on the double big mac no bun, I took 3 of the meat patties for the freezer and kept 2. Ate my mcdouble and a junior chicken. They were good. Planning to add 1/2 of a burger for meals. Might make some mexican rice later this afternoon and add some Chili beans. Mash it all together. Figure out seasoning later.
2 -
Hi all. Mara, hope all your appts. go well and transit delivers you safely. Tigger sounds like he's pretty smart and must enjoy saunas. lol. I'm sorry you missed a trip out and about with your DB. If you get the opportunity of going to Chick-fil-a, I highly recommend their chicken noodle soup and grilled chicken sandwich. It's enough to make two meals and the soup is excellent.
Hi threetree. Thank you for your caring. Hurricane season is not for the weak of heart. I hope you are holding your own. This disease just plains stinks. Wanted to use another word, but trying to behave.
Hi Wren. Ah, thanks for responding. We'll get her checked next visit. We did have prior rescues that suffered seizures. This seems different to me, but I'm not a vet. Waiting for Pigeon to come home from the vet. I can't believe the multiple suggested tests and billing. We can't afford $1000 for UTI test ($250), heartworm test and heartworm pills (triple what we pay at Petco for same brand). I'm fairly sure it's anal gland related and so the tech "expressed" her glands. We'll see but today after her bath and just before going to the vet, she did not have an odor "down below". Figures.
In pockets for all and hello to you!
2 -
@irishlove Ugh those vet prices…yikes! Hopefully the bare minimum gets your answer and hope the it was the anal glands. Also best to be prepared for Erin then maybe she won't come , isn't that how it goes sometimes lol. I also second the Chick-fil-a grilled sandwich , low calorie and tasty!
@threetree Been thinking of you this week, how's everything going?

I am presently heating up some mexican rice, wiill fill up with a burger and probably stick with that, no beans open right now and unsure which I would add. Learned I do not need to put everything together, there are two patties in the fridge and 3 in the freezer, wrapped in the aluminum foil and stored in a freezer bag. If I cannot finish the rice, just put it away for tomorrow. I could also see cooking up another frozen burger and doing a combo burger with one of the patties that I have or take a chicken dog, chop it up, again, bringing in a burger and mashing everything together. Getting ahead of myself of course but meal planning would be a good idea for sure.

Going to duplicate message here and main thread. Not sure why it has not been fixed yet.
Got my ct scan today, not til this afternoon. Need to eat by 1030 or so but got leftovers of the mexican rice to go through and another burger and egg to go through, probably add some rice and beans as well.
Laundry is going, Tigger sitting on top of the washers since both are going, since he likes going in, both lids are closed at all times. I know it is the warmth he really likes.
Beyond that, I will not be gone too long I do not think and will likely need to order a ride home earlier than I scheduled but who knows.
Got the leftover rice I made yesterday, am adding an egg and some beans as well as part of the burger and not sure of seasonings yet. The mexican rice has the normal mexican flavour but I added a bunch of garlic to original meal, I will figure that out later, may make quesadilla on the side with rice, pulverized beans and an egg. I love pulverizing meat and greens with my meat and potato masher, it is great.
Going to be hot here but that is fine, I do hope everyone has a great day, in pockets for all.
@moderators, I am of the belief that others are unable to post here as I am the only one here and that is unusual, can you please look into this for us.

My heart’s is so heavy this morning with the passing of our beloved sister kbl. What a truly amazing woman.. all I have is tears right now….

@mara51506 in your pocket for CT today may everything remain stable. Safe travels ❌⭕️
3 -
I too have tears for Kris this morning and am just broken hearted. Damn this cruel disease!
5 -
@mara51506 - Best of luck with your scan and hope that echo went well also. In your pocket for sure!
2 -
KBL Kris a profound loss.
tanya5 -
I am so sorry to hear about KBL, condolences to her online family here and of course real life family and friends. She is at peace but it does not make it easier for all who will miss her.

@threetree The echo went very well , Today's scan should not be a problem unless the person at the desk is not aware of me not taking any oral liquid. We will see, otherwise it is a quick scan for me.
5 -
Mara, hope the rest of your day goes well and no problems with your scan. In your pocket.
Kbl/Kris helped me through some rough moments, by her insights and posts. It's heartbreaking that's she's gone.

Well, feeling like a dipstick, no appoint today, actual appointment is on Sept 16 which makes more sense. It is on a weekday and the results come a few days later. Oh well, got dolled up for nothing but at least I can finish stuff up today, phone for Herceptin on Wed, need to double up on the calendar entries and refer to my paperwork repeatedly. At least I did not miss an appointment entirely. Might spray on some sunscreen and use my neckfan and hat to stay cool and walk up to the burger joint and get a good lunch, it is quite warm but not humid. Can wear my hat and neck fan. Give me something to do and some exercise and some use of the heating aids in action beyond the indoors. Either that or walk or walk around the block.

@mara51506 - I totally get your having mixed things up. It can be so hard keeping track of all these appointments, things to buy, etc. Oh, for just an old normal life again for us all! Love the idea that you're thinking about walking. I just got back home from a good 3 mile walk with a stop at the grocery store included. Have a good one!

💔 at loss of kbl. Condolences to her family and friends, including those here. Damn cancer🤬

Mara I know about appointment mix ups geez. So much extra to remember. I’m glad your CT appt went well. I hope you make it to the burger joint.

@threetree @tanya_djamila Yeah, I gave myself a hard time until I stopped and thought that all I did was book a month EARLY vs late. I did not miss the appointment at all. It was not booked until Sept 16th. I moved the thought out of my head with music. I have all schedules in my purse and keep the purse next to me, I will review my phone calender to those appointments and pay it no mind. No one is harder on me than myself so I really work to push out critical thoughts from my head.
Booked my trips to Herceptin on Wed. CT will be Sept 16 and results are Sept 29. Crossed out the appointments I have already had to keep it all straight.
I have started some laundry, not too much as I have kept up with it better. Tigger still sits on top of the washers but I am not bothered by that though, he is enjoying the warmth. I have also stopped drying clothes because I realize the wash is enough and I can hang it up to dry on the shower wash. I also wash clothes in the mesh bags to protect them and keep them newer looking.
I am starting to run out of rice finally, had it for years, will make sure another box is not under my bed where I store things and if not will order it soon, from Walmart or Amazon if necessary. Edit, I did order stuff from Walmart. No junk food, which was a surprise to me but just the rice, a multipak of the lean ground beef. Used the rest of the credit card rewards from paying rent so in effect it was a free order. A few cans of chili type beans and two pizzas which will be heated up immediately and a pizza cutter. should arrive between 2 and 3 pm. I also stayed within the 61.00 budget from the credit I could use.
Edit, realized I would need some cheese as well so with cheese added and tortilla chips which feature heavily in meals for me, went just over 70 dollars so will just pay the extra 15.00 to the card that the credit was being used on. Probably will not shop for a couple of weeks either so average per week is 35.00 which is not too bad with inflation factored in.
I love the meat masher I bought for around 10 bucks on Amazon, I can really break down the meat that and mash up beans in the same dish as well.
I need food before everything arrives so using an egg and beans with rice.
Hope all have a good day and am in pockets for everyone who needs me.

Post meal edit, I took one mini pot pie, microwaved it first. Once done, sprayed a steel pot, added a can of sliced mushrooms and the pot pie, used the masher to mix all ingredients. Heated the steel pot for about a minute and added to another dish after cooled. Added a blob of smokey bacon mayo and a blob of garlic mayo. Mixed and ate it all up. Probably not too many calories since the mushrooms are lower calorie and not a ton of mayos. It was enjoyable and took an immodium and digestive enzyme with it.
My grocery order will arrive shortly, I have two pizzas will heat them up immediately and wrap extra pieces to go in the freezer, hopefully the pizza cutter works decently, leave a couple pieces in the fridge. Put a wig on so as not to frighten the driver. 😂

I am all in tears about the passing of our dear KBL. she helped so many, including me, and always so generously supported everyone. I’m also saddened about Karyn’s passing , she had been NED for so many years, and then all of a sudden, within just a few weeks, she was gone. I hate this disease, I really do.

Hello to living room, I hope everyone is doing well.
I’m hanging in there, but honestly, I’m mostly fatigued and unmotivated. this blood thinner is wearing me down, I feel lightheaded, dizzy, and pale most of the time. Since my MO missed the thrombosis diagnosis, he’s now overly concerned about stopping it, which is frustrating.
5 -
@snow-drop Can you eat more foods rich in iron to counteract the lightheaded feeling and dizziness you have on this drug they gave you?
I found these Iron-rich foods safe to consume while on blood thinners include lean meats (beef, chicken, turkey), seafood (tuna, sardines, clams), eggs, beans (kidney, black, pinto), lentils, tofu, spinach, broccoli, and fortified breads and cereals. I was not on blood thinners before beans but anemic and beans started me back on track and removed the dizziness and light headedness I experienced. I am aware that supplements containing iron are not advised but foods should be helpful, maybe ask or onc. I am sorry you are experiencing these symptoms.
I did wind up cooking both pizzas, no room in the freezer so cut them both up and am storing in the fridge, will use those to form up meals that include pizza. The pizza cutter is great and I do love it already. Pizza was very good. May make quesadillas with pizza and cheese with garlic tomorrow.
