@irishlove It's good to see ya! Glad to hear you stayed on Ibrance and the infection cleared. Makes life a lot easier for you with the frequent infections. Hope your family and your pets are doing well. You enjoying the Phil's this year? Great time of year with the Phillies and the Eagles now starting!
@mara51506 Glad to hear you got lots of steps in today! Love your determination.
Getting some much needed thunderstorms tonight. Supposed to be cooler Fall weather this week. My DD Birthday is Mondays so we're going to dinner tomorrow. Plus her bridal gown is in so Thursday we'll go to the dress shop for her to try it on. The wedding is May 2026 so it will be an exciting and busy year. Always praying for God to give me the strength to be able to enjoy the celebrations ahead. I think I will take a short chemo break before the wedding to ensure I will feel well. Been thinking ahead…..
Hi to all here , hope it was a good day.

BRONCHSCOPY TOMORROW MORNING AT 7AM. I’M SO NERVOUS ABOUT THIS. 😵💫
MY THURSDAY ONC FOLLOW UP TO DISCUSS MY STABLE SCANS AND GET MY TREATMENT INJECTIONS. I STILL HAVE THAT BD COUGH AND MY ONC HD ME CONSULT WITH HIS PULMONOLOGIST HE WORKS WITH THE SAME DAY. MY LUNG CT ALTHOUGH IS SHOWING THE “GROUND GLASS OPACITIES THAT INCREASED SINCE LAST CT. THE IMPRESSION READ WAS THAT “THIS MAY REFLECT INFECTIOUS’/INFLAMMATORY” NO NODULES…..ETC. SO MY ONC DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE ME OFF VERZENIO, BUT IDENTIFY WHAT THIS LUNG INFECTION IS BIOPSY AND HAVE PULMONOLOGIST TREAT IT WITH STEROIDS POSSIBLY……SO THE SUMMER FROM HELL IN AUGUSTSEEMS O BE CARRYING OVER INTO SEPTEMBER😩. IN THE MEANTIME, I’M FEELING SO PAINFUL IN MY NECK VERTEBRAE AND HEAD ACHES AND AWAITING SEPTEMBER 16 FOR THE RADIO FREQUENCY ABLATION PROCEDURE.. ..I HATE CANCER. THIS IS ALL SO OVERWHELMING, AND I’’M SO AFRAID OF THIS BROCHOSCOPY BIOPSY PROCEDURE TOMORROW MORNING😭. SORRY EVERYONE. I SHOULDN’T COMPLAIN. I REALIZE YOU HAVE ALL BEEN THROUGH THE METS ROLLER COASTER.😢

Dear Shanagirl-I hate that you are going through this. Peace to you today as you await your procedure tomorrow. I hope the necessary info can be obtained and a good treatment plan devised so that you can get back to enjoying your life. This is the place to complain. We get it.

Oh sweetie, the waiting is always the hardest part, but we're here with you. Things will improve when you have a diagnosis and a plan to target this latest demon manifestation. Claiming my spot in your pocket. Feel free to squeeze my hand as hard as you need.❤️

@shanagirl So sorry you have to go through this on top of everything else. Of course I will be praying for your broncoscopy tomorrow, and that you can finally get some peace and rest. We are here for you…
3 -
@shanagirl In your pocket for your bronchoscopy, I am lending my support for you as you wait and then the procedure to see what is needing going forward from there. You being fearful and overwhelmed and telling us how that makes you feel is not complaining, look at me complaining about DB and SIL which is relatively minor. Complaining is I stubbed my toe and going on for days on end, what you are going through is hell and you just need to be able to see the other side. Let us help you.
@cookie54 The steps were only 1000 but I never get that many so it is a start. Still sticking to 5 mins at a time, it is all cumulative. Realistically, I probably will not join a gym but the indoor stuff is still effective because the pace is very quick. May listen to some music to make it more entertaining, listen to a song and march enough for the 500 steps, if song is short, pump my arms faster, feet follow my arm speed. Still thinking about purchasing a treadmill and how that would be done, it would be quite a while, I would need to hire people to bring it in, has to be foldable. Amazon has a few varieties that could work but I have some bills I am paying off, Long time off, sticking to the marching and walking around the house with marching small steps to add to my count.
I had a LOT of beans yesterday with a frozen Mc D burger still in the fridge and a bunch of cheese, it was pretty good. I find the cans are small and could probably be mixed with green or black beans in the future.
Right now am microwaving one of the queso dish meals, I quite enjoy those honestly and not bad as a meal. This evening will make an egg, some beans and a mini pot pie which will be good. The barbecue beans with chipotle are just kind of meh for me, I almost think it would be better for me to season beans. The BBQ meal was finished up but need to stick to the chipotle variety or turn the black beans into chipotle beans at meal time. I also have frozen burgers, chicken dogs and a 3 pack of tube ground beef, I could do a lot with all that.
Ayway, late start, getting my first meal, the queso, intend on doing some laundry, quick vacuum as well and my steps.
I hope the day is good for all and in pockets for anyone who needs me.

Shanagirl. Hold my hand tightly tomorrow. I would be scared to death so that’s probably a normal reaction. Here’s hoping they find something with an easy fix. Hugs

@shanagirl Oh sweet lady I'm sorry you are still dealing with the summer from hell now rolling into Sept.I'm glad you popped on here to let us know. So now your pockets wills be overflowing with strength ,love and support.I will be praying that it all goes smoothly and you get the answers you need to get you on your way to feeling better. Big big hugs to you.❣️

@shanagirl , when I was on Verzenio I got pneumonitis and had a bronchoscopy. The procedure was ok because I had twilight sedation. Nothing bad was found and I did a course of prednisone. Maybe that’s all that it will be for you? But sorry you’re in pain from your bone mets. Hope it goes well for you tomorrow.

Shana - joining others with pocket duty. I like AJ’s suggestion and pray that is all they find🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.
3 -
@shanagirl - Oh dear Shana - jumping in here a little late (I've got my own issues), but let me tell you I am with you all the way! If you haven't read @AJ's account of her own bronchoscopy above, please do. I think that would help me a lot if I was in your shoes. I have been following what's been going on with you and my heart has been there, believe me. I've just had some overwhelming fatigue (post shingles?) and can't always respond with a post when I want to. I have so wanted to respond to many of your posts over the summer, but just couldn't muster the energy. Please just know that I am thinking of you in an extra big way today and am wishing you nothing but an easy peaceful procedure and good outcome. I'm sending lots and lots of good wishes and several hugs! Hoping you see this in time.

@eleanora Yes, I agree, since I know I overheat even in comfortable weather and a neck fan, bulk of walking will be indoors. I am not yet joining a gym because I need to do regular walking around first and be reliable with that first.
@shanagirl All of us are in your pocket sending love, support and food for coming treatments and some pain relief I really hope.
I called my DB yesterday instead of SIL. Explained how I was feeling post heat related incident. Let him know that outdoor walks were off the board. That eventually will work out another treadmill but once current bills paid off and get rid of too large sofa so there is room in the front. This will be at least a year or possibly two. No gym at this point as I do not venture out come winter. Also offered to text that all is well since wellness checks are on a waiting list, not going to ask for nursing in house as the last couple of outside issues and the flu I had caused my overheating. Left it at that and that I do not want any housework done, I can handle it. Easier to say stuff to him since he is the one worried. I felt it was a good convo. I could not tell if he was on board with the all is well so might send a text in the evening. SIL has been helpful too but easier dealing with him.
Speaking of winter, last dream I was having involved my Mom and I slipping on ice both outside and inside building here. We did not fall and our hallway and outside was covered in salt. Weird.
I am presently doing laundry, got to get back to the short marches, love to pump my arms fast, I forgot to do it yesterday to be honest, think I will listen to a song and march super fast to it. 1000 is fine for the first week, need to still complete what is being done here for budget boosting, chores and meeals.
I finally pulled one of the ground beef tubes out of the fridge, they are very close to a full pound for 10 bucks which is quite a good cost for 3 tubes and they are lean meat too, cooking up one of them this morning before putting together meal ideas. Just spray a pan and add a pat of butter. Once done, stick in a container to store in the fridge and can use at will, keep up to 5 days. Not fully sure what to have. My mind is having a contest between open a ramen package, egg and little beef with cheese, heated on the stove OR season with the cheese stuff in the taco dinner bake and beans, less of the ramen package and an egg, again heated on the stove, I will decide soon. Seeing on Walmart site they have a lot of value sized stuff including ground chicken, 3 tubes of that, pot stickers, I have never had those. Still need to get my fridge and freezer emptied out some. Freezer is back to playing tetris to fill it so need to finish the stuff off. Realizing that just because I have a delivery pass does not mean I need to shop all the time. Ideally, no more than every two to three weeks for me depending on what is needed. Also realizing that there is a wee no frills, little bit cheaper than regular stores across the street from the hospital so if done my appointment, could yeek across the street if Paratransit was not coming for a while.
I will post re meals once I have had them.
I do hope all are having a decent day and for those going through procedures, scans, changes in meds or SE, in pockets to all who may need me.

So I will be heat up some ground beef, still quite frozen even after the defrost, got greased pan on low heat with a lid, will check back shortly as I could not use the masher on it yet, will keep checking back till it can be mashed and browned, let cool. Then will make up some KD, was going to do a full box but decided would be better to use small amount of the noodes and add some different ingredients. My plan is to make an egg with the noodles then add browned beef with some beans, not as many as yesterday. Mix toppings and seasonings as needed. Leaving on low heat and lid for a few minutes, not offended if a bit crispy. Let that lot cool, then take a pot and heat up some KD noodles, not whole box and add an egg as well. Take egg and KD noodle mix, put in pot with a spoonful of meat and cheese and add some beans. Just a spoonful. Probably add some ranch, shredded cheese and other condiments, could make a burger sort of vibe with the cheese, ranch and perhaps dollops of mayochup, garlic and other stuff. I will see. I need to keep the dollops small.
Got frustrated as when I opened container of dry noodles, think they were from a hamburger helper pack, they spilled out. Picked them up, rinsed them off and tossed in a bit of water and the egg, letting it all set up together. Once egg and noodles done, will add a couple scoops beans and couple scoops of beef and some cheese and heat up same pot to mix the flavours. May also add the rest of the beef to a container and see if the pot will offer little bit of grease to add some extra flavour or a tsp of butter and tsp of garlic butter and heat those through.
EDIT meal including pasta, egg, beef, cheese and some beans was delicious but filling. I did add the mayochup, caesar and garlic mayo. All were supersmall drops. Added 1/4 tsp garlic salt, regular salt and sour cream powder. All very small amounts, it was delicious. Due to fat content, pre emptive immodiums taken to avoid loose stuff. I love the food but figure taking stuff in advance is helpful. Put rest of beef in the fridge. DELICIOUS.

Shana girl jumping in for pocket duty. Ask for anti anxiety meds as soon as you get there. Ugh cancer truly can suck the life out of a season. Hopefully fall will be a time for healing and care.
My daughter does most of the dinner cooking. I’ll pitch in and dice some onions peppers 🌶️. Yesterday she made chipotle chicken thigh recipe with guacamole rice and beans. Tastes better than restaurants. I scrubbed the pits!
Waving hello to everyone.

hello ladies, Mara…….
Just popping into say hello. Tanya. Yay stable. Hooray 🙌! Thank you Goldens. Nice to see you all as well. Mae. Hope jaws was a blast! Love that film. You’re my kind person. I think we’d get along well if we hung out. I think we all would. I wish that were possible! Love to all. Have a good day.

@mara51506 Glad to hear you talked to DB and all went well. I'm sure that's a load off your mind! Keep on stepping, yes 1,000 is just fine. Each day add on a little more and you will get there.Hmmm that is an interesting dream with your mom and falling on the ice. Maybe it was your reminder that she is always by your side to protect you
@threetree I'm sorry your struggling, we understand not feeling well enough to post. Just remember we are all here for you and will always be in your pocket.❤️
@shanagirl Thinking of you and hoping you rest well tonight knowing Bronchoscopy is behind you. Hope all went well.
3 -
@micmel So glad to see you popping in. I pray daily for Gabby and you as you go through all of this together. Thank God she has you.
@shanagirl I hope the endoscopy went easy enough for you and that the results show no problems.
I still have a headache (almost two weeks now) and still have hives from the contrast last Thursday night. My MO office called me this morning and she has put me on prednisone to counter the allergy. Hopefully it will work, but it is a specific regimine so I can't start it until tomorrow morning, so for now I will continue Benedryl. And the struggle continues…

Thought I'd share this very appropriate sentiment that I laughed out loud at in a bookstore. Love to you all ♥️
12 -
@sf-cakes That is certainly true.
Oddly, I asked if DB still has my treadmill and he does. Told him am going to clear area by the front door to use again. Decline in mobility started there when I stopped using it. Would not overheat using it either and I can hang on too which gives a good pace. Now am going to start the clearout of the stuff behind the couch and move anything else like recycle etc somewhere else, move big boxes elsewhere in living room. I do hope they do not fight me on bringing it back to me. If asked why I want it back, have already explained that not using and then removing from the home started me down the road of mobility issues. If for some reason he would not return or was broken, would pull trigger on another one because realistically, a hermit like me is not likely to join and use the gym. I can march but is not the same.
5 -
@intolight Ugh I'm sorry to hear about the ongoing headache and hives! I can't believe your still dealing with hives so long after contrast. I hope the steroids do the job and you feel better real soon.❤️
@sf-cakes OMG that's the best hahaha….don't we all know it! Thanks for the laugh!
@mara51506 Great idea to get back on your treadmill. Glad DB held on to it.

@mara51506 That's great news! It would be so much better to get your old one back rather than to have to purchase a new one.

Appropriate. I met my onc today and there is progression. I’m off Letrozole and Ibrance and on to faslodex and Doxil. I could have chosen Truqap but the side effect is diarrhea which would make going to Laos a big problem. So I’m off to get an echocardiogram and a port.
9 -
@wren44 I am sorry to hear of your progression, here's hoping the new drugs take care it for you. I hope you make and enjoy your trip to Laos. The port will make infusion easier but I am sorry again. Lending you my hugs and support from your pocket my friend.
My body decided I do not need to sleep in bed so was on couch in a light doze sort of state, by 6 am, decided better get my recycle stuff out, took out 6 bags worth of mostly cardboard for recycling. Noticed out back that animals have got to garbage so if energetic enough post appointment will be a good neighbour and mostly for my benefit and dispose of the garbage. Wear rubber gloves and use broom to bring it over. I saw animals getting into the garbage out back under some stairs, not believing it belongs to anyone here but do not wish to see them. I will see how I feel after my Herceptin option 2 is the property manager but I do not with to lose ability to store stuff in the bin outside.
Probably just have some meat pies for my meal before the app't and cheese with ginger ale when getting the Herceptin. Make sure I get plenty of protein. Pack up supplies I generally take also, if the appointment is done early, may pick up a pizza at the new grocery store across the street, not sure yet.
Today and tomorrow, depending on energy level, will move a couple of the large boxes I purchased to a different place accross from the sofa, readying for when my old or new treadmill are there and even if no treadmill, need to make space anyway. I am not expecting the treadmill immediately anyway.
Other than that, not too much more on the agenda today so hope all have a good day and definitely in all pockets for those that need it, my own pocket duty too.
2 -
I did wind up putting a mini potpie on top of some frozen fettucine noodles, filled me up so that is good. Extra immodium used since when light sleep happens overnight, digestion is sometimes not good. I feel fine now and am getting ready, need to wash up, shave a bit, can't grow hair on my head but menopause gifted me chin hairs. Oh well, at least they are blonde or grey.
2 -
wren - so very sorry to hear that you have had progression. Prayers for the new treatment to kick things to the curb.
S-f cakes - great photo from the bookstore. So truthful!
Here for pocket duty for all.

Well, having a day where a lot of breaks are taken whilst cleaning and applying minimal makeup. Just used minor concealer under eyes, I have puffy eyes at the best of times, can at least hide darker circles. I also applied some bronzer for extra colour and will apply some lipstick, should look human enough. May also break out some glasses too, they usually help hide my puffy eyes. I have had the same puff since childhood.
5 -
wren pocket duty for your echocardiogram and a port. Looking forward to Laos 🇱🇦 with you
Shana girl I hope you’re ok after your appointment.

Had a good Herceptin with ginger ale and two cheese sticks. My chestport would not return blood so had to take the tapa stuff and it took 40 mins and two injections of the tapa to get blood but it came along finally. Had to book another trip on Paratransit and left a half hour after.
Bad news, drivers on the Paratransit may strike but I will book a ride, if on strike, take bus. Not spending 30 bucks round trip. Regular bus is still running. I don't blame the drivers on the paratransit, dude told me this morning they make 18 bucks an hour compared to over 30 bucks an hour for regular bus. If Paratransit goes on strike, will need to quickly get over fear of riding the regular bus.
4 -
@mara51506 I don't blame them for striking either. I would think that paratransit drivers would be paid more because their job is complicated. On the regular bus, just say "Please lower the entrance" on coming in and out. It is the bus driver's job to accommodate people who need it-that's why the buses have the kneeling features/ramps. They may not realize you need it until you ask. Glad your injection went well.
