Irritability with Letrozole?
Is anyone else dealing with high irritability and low frustration tolerance while taking Letrozole? I'm usually an easy-going person. I ended up in a full-fledged tantrum this weekend over something really stupid. This is so outside my normal behavior, and it's starting to negatively impact my life. Has anyone else dealt with this side-effect and found a way to manage it? Thanks!

I recently switched from letrozole to exemstane and noticed it with the new drug but seems to have subsided for me. It takes some time to adjust to the hormone changes. Give yourself some grace. Also we have been through a lot to end up on these meds..we are human, we will crack at times. If it becomes a problem or never improves, tell your doctor and maybe they can switch. I switched because of other side effects and the change has been good for me.

Yes! I get annoyed extremely easy and have a very short fuse. I call Letrozole the 'mean' pill. I've been on it for 6 months and have 4.5 years to go. Haven't figured out what to do about it yet. Try to keep my head low and avoid people.

Hi @sweetcheeks. Thanks for the reply. So glad to know I'm not alone! After I made that post, the irritability continued to get worse. A few days later, I was ready to punch my dental hygienist just because she asked me to repeat something for the 3rd time (which is SOOOOO unlike me). So I contacted my doctor and said this was a serious quality of life issue for me, and we had to do something about it.
My doctor suggested I try duloxetine (Cymbalta) to help with both the irritability and the joint pain I was having due to the Letrozole. I've been on it for about 3 months and there has been a huge improvement in both of those Letrozole side effects. It may be worth considering if you're still having issues. Good luck!
