Hi everyone. I managed to catch up on the goings on around here. Wishes for a healthier new year for everyone.
Cookie, DH was able to improve his heart failure status and no longer has restrictions. He swims everyday or night and walks the dogs 1/2 hour or so each morning. We believe it was triggered by undiagnosed Covid, even though he had his vaccine and booster shots.
Mara, we use coffee filters in our air fryer to reduce clean up. Works well and doesn't burn. Plus it's inexpensive. Oh do those burritos and other mexican inspired foods sound delicious.
I've been sick on and off since mid-October. I still have pneumonia. Then I caught a nasty bug that took a week to shake. Now I'm pretty sure I have strep-throat. It was a minor sore throat for 2 or 3 days and today it became very sore. Took a flashlight and shined it down my pipe and sure enough saw pus pockets both sides. Been to so many hospital visits and doctor visits that I'm going to cheat a bit and treat this myself. Have antibiotics for UTI and I believe I have another one, so this should cover both medical problems (hopefully).
We had planned to go home for Christmas (first time in over 5 years) but cancelling tomorrow DH booked Amtrak train roundtrip and motel room. We should receive full refund. Sometimes I am so sure of myself and then have to admit that my body just isn't cooperating. Talked to my sis and we agreed to reschedule for spring.
In pockets for scans and hoping for good success with new meds to have improvement and better health for the new year.

irishlove, if you think you have strep throat, do not self treat. You need to be on antibiotics specific to strep and most likely for 10 days. It is a nasty bug and improper treatment can lead to serious consequences involving other body systems. Please seek medical help.

@irishlove Strep is going around Chicago now too so I agree with @betrayal that it might be better to do one more doctor visit to treat it (Sigh).
So sorry you had to cancel your planned Christmas trip but at least you will get your money back.
@cookie54 It must be so challenging for both you and your husband to have such serious health issues. Hopefully you can lean on each other and get through this.
Had a couple of fun nights-pizza party with co-workers, dinner and farkle with pickleball friends. Staying in today and making some soup from my rotisserie chicken carcass. I may try to get to the gym to do upper body. My new hip is getting better and better which is a relief. In a holding pattern to see what my next cancer treatment might be. Still taking Ibrance as we wait for tissue biopsy and Guardant results, along with new scans at the beginning of January. I feel good so I'm not worrying about anything.

I am presently making up some air fryed lentils, shaking every couple minutes. Once those are crispy, cracking a couple eggs as well. Lentils and the eggs should taste good. I put white cheddar seasoning, sour cream and onion and lots of taco seasoning, lentils came out pretty crispy but not burned. Got eggs in there as well now that lentils in a bowl. Will add a binder at some point as well, still have a lot to choose from.
EDIT The lentils with the seasonings from the air fryer were really very good. Eggs were good as well, nothing burned. It was all enjoyable to me. Got it soaking now for use either later today or in days ahead.
Got laundry on the go right now, agitating in colour shield oxi for 15 mins for total hour or so soak, wiped up window sills and spots on floor and cloths were pretty soiled. After the wash/soak, will drain and do a normal wash with detergent.
Nothing else to say, quiet weekend besides Welcome to Derry and Stranger Things, binged that show. More episodes coming later December.
Still have not heard about consult appointment yet, will cancel the next RO appointment if it means to focus on a non existent consult. If I am honest, not going to lose sleep, if it was super urgent to be seen, someone would have phoned. For now just putting along as usual. I did phone my RO and let them know no consult seems to be on the books. I was polite but just said that since there is something in my brain that should not be there, would prefer the consult sooner before brain swelling and seizures start. The RO office person said they will call tomorrow. Oh well, I am more annoyed and have little sympathy about the neurosurgeon being busy. Just figured something growing in the brain would be a little more urgent than the it all seems to be. The MRI was in Sept that showed the blood flowing cyst. I am also leaving RO office to deal with the neurosurgeon consult.
Hope everyone has a good day and in pockets for all.

I second others' comments about getting the right meds for strep. I know it's exhausting. I am finally on the way to recovery after a 5 month bout with diverticulitis that included 4 emergency room visits, multiple doctor visits and 14 days of IV antibiotics to finally resolve it.
So sorry you had to cancel your trip, but glad you're already planning the next one. I find that having something to look forward to greatly improves my state of mind. Congrats on your husband's improvement.

Hello midnight and any late night owls still around? I absolutely can not do mornings anymore. Not sure what I can do to change that, so I just schedule afternoon doctor appts.
Thanks all for input on what might be strep throat? Maybe I should mention that I have a UTI, courtesy of MS and am on Cephalexen. Hoping that will clean up this throat and UTI. I say strep but it hasn't been tested. Not sure about how each of you react to antibiotics, but I do have problems with them. The Z-pak, doxicycline and amoxa-clavin and sulfa-based drugs, create severe nausea and vomiting. Even taken with food. Cipro is a huge NO. Tendonitis tore my poor feet up . Side effects have reported ruptured tendons from Cipro. Cephalexen is my go to. Grandma had us swish one part warm water to one part hydrogen peroxide for sore throats when we were kids. I promise I will see PCP if I develop fever or this does not clear.
DD and DGD are here since Thanksgiving. So I put on my I feel fine face, and cooked some crock pot meals for the whole crew. DD's hubby came by (they've separated) after work, so had enough for him, too. Nothing like a roast with carrots and small baby potatoes and with leftovers I would add diced tomatoes, chop up the beef and add beef broth and Dales low sodium seasoning. Don't forget frozen mixed veggies and it's a good soup.
Not to make anyone jealous, but DH turned the pool heater on and I got out of my sick bed to climb in. It was lovely. I miss my family terribly at Christmas time, but not the ice and bitterly cold temps. A little snow is lovely.
We had laid peel on/off wallpaper on the one bedroom wall. It looks so pretty. But…. ever remembering calling Grandma and ask what she was doing? Well she would say "Just sitting here watching the wallpaper peel". And fast forward 50 years later and that's what I'm doing. I think I'm gonna just take it down. The walls must have some dampness to them or humidity might be the problem.
In pockets for all your needs.

Well, I’m still awake at 2:24 AM and just am not feeling sleep, so I thought I would read along and catch up on you all. I haven’t been posting for the 10 days of palliative radiation on my acetabulum and hip groin area. My last rad was Black Friday,….totally feel wiped out but it's helped in some ways.Wishing you al a belated Happy Thanksgiving. DH & I spent the weekend putting the tree up and he did the lights outside the house. I love Christmas lights.
@threetree I'm thinking of you and praying for you that things become clearer for you and you get what you need from your care team as far as treatment and what’s going on with your cancer status. I know you’ve been a little down in the dumps and under the weather. You feel you and I always seem to mirror certain issues together. I went for treatment Monday for the XGeva Fasoldex injections., my metabolics always have some highs and lows, never perfect. My calcium is always high. So Hoping all is well with you @chicagoan., @cookie54. @candy-678 @irishlove I’m also bad about morning doctor visits before 12. It’s har getting out in the mornings for me too. And please let your doctor know about your sore throat that is strep so he can prescribe the proper medication for you.
So now I’m being too much of a nightmare owl so I’m going to close this IPad and go to sleep🥱😴🩵

@irishlove So glad DH is out of heart failure status, great news! Ugh sorry you’re now dealing with possible strep, agree with the others , be careful. You don’t need any lingering infections! Yikes what a pia to have such issues with antibiotics, that's rough. I always admire the way you are able to deal with multiple issues yet put your game face on and cook!I know we all try our hardest to keep it "normal". Guess it’s best to travel in the Spring as I’m sure you’re disappointed. Sending hugs and get well wishes.
@chicagoan Glad to hear the new hip is treating you well. Nice to be able to get out with friends and have some fun! May you have continued peace of mind as you wait on scans and tissue biopsy.
@shanagirl Ugh rough night on sleep,it's awful! Hope you were able to settle and get a couple hours in. I started using Natrol melatonin gummies and it's been giving me a couple steady hours of sleep. Yipee for last Rads , I hope the fatigue doesn't linger much longer. I love the twinkle soft Christmas lights too, it makes the house so cozy.
@mara51506 How are ya? Sounds like your enjoying your air fryer. How was the electric cleaning brush you bought? Did I miss that review lol?
So great news, DH heart catheterization is good! Stent looked good and all else clear. No improvement in his heart failure but as he says "he is ok with keeping his old broken self" and grateful no new issues. Big sigh of relief …Thanks for all the well wishes for him❤️Now Echo for me today since I haven't had on since the start of chemo. I'm not expecting anything just following doctors orders and ending this year of tests🤞
Happy Friday and I hope everyone has a good day ❣️

@cookie54 The scrubber is doing just fine when needed on dishes, have not used in the bathtub yet but will. Love the air fryer for sure. Not sure what .to use for today, yesterday, used my instant pot for some rice instead. Both work quite well.
I am sick, yesterday woke with a very sore throat, productive cough and runny nose. Oh well, throwing the expectorant in the day, hydrating and using some vicks vapo rub. I slept a long time as I did put myself to bed earlier. I use the cough suppressant at night.
Not sure about food today, ordered up a bunch of breakfast and beef and bean burritos yesterday, still have hotdogs that can be boiled, chopped into cheese and thrown in the air fryer with lentils. I will see, not awake enough for food yet and too busy blocking facebook posts that trigger me into arguments or going after bullies who go after people with typos. Oh well, no one asked me to go after bullies so block is generously being used today.
I do have a couple of prescriptions coming and having a breakfast burrito for now before prescription arrives. I will see how I feel as to what else may be done. I am better than yesterday BUT colds, coughing and sore throat make me turn into a huge whiny person. Will also get to bed earlier again.
Hope everyone has a good day and in pockets for all.

@mara51506 No! So sorry to hear you are sick. Take good care of yourself and feel better quick.
1 -
No earlier bed time. I managed to fall, unsure what caused it but was on my back. I was pretty silly since I called out for help from neighbours and finally called 911. They helped me up. I did not go to hospital as I was not hurt, unsure what caused the fall. I wanted to reach my phone so I did a back walk vs a bum walk, put blankets under my head and the due got there. Think I may keep my phone around.
I am also losing my voice as well though not sure shouting for help caused any wear and tear.
7 -
Mara - hope you recovery quickly from your illness. Sounds like you’re doing the right things to tame the symptoms. Sorry about the fall. So scary……glad there were no injuries. Always keep your phone on you!
We went to visit our best friends for Thanksgiving. Spent 6 days there. Both daughters joined us. Friends hosted 28 for turkey day dinner. Cathy has RA and ended up w/thrush and ear infection by Saturday. So she was down for the count. Travel both ways was amazing. Normally a 6 hour drive, made it there and back home in 5 1/2 hours. Had major snowstorm while gone -10 inches. Thankfully our HOA has a great snow removal company. Came home to huge mountains of snow where plow dumped it just past our house. Have been busy decorating. Takes me forever. Finally done. Now working on making Christmas cards. Only send out a handful but the creative process is time consuming.
I have 2 MRIs this coming week. MO ordered lower back due to increased pain. Urologist ordered kidney (only have 1) due to finding of small lesion on remains kidney during routine scans for MBC. Both require contrast and I have to premedicate due to contrast allergy. Ordering docs are from 2 separate hospital systems so the tests can’t be combined to save me a test. Go figure.🙄
Here for pocket duty for all in need. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Mariah loves the snow……cries every day to go out and play. Takes her ball and pushes it into the snow then digs it out. When it’s only 11 out, sometimes it’s just too cold.
9 -
I plan to. I have it with me in bed. Next time if there is a next time, won't bother shouting for help from neighbours, just get to the 911 right away. I am fortunate I was not hurt, unsure of cause of the fall either. Oh well, you live and learn, learned how to do a back walk to get my blanket to put under head.
It was around 3 when I got to bed, slept in between washroom breaks. Not planning to do much today. I was on the floor about 3 hours spending 2 of those hours shouting for help. My voice is gone at this point, shouting did not help it any, Plan to eat earlier tonight and head straight to bed. Will drink tea and water and take some honey as well. I sound worse than I feel. No voice today.
Still have my appetite, not sure what I want to have, thinking rice, beans and cheese possibly or if I feel like something simpler, can eat a frozen either meat pie, stir fry or another burrito.
I hope everyone has a good day and in pockets for all. In own pocket too.

@goldensrbest - Sounds like a wonderful time over Thanksgiving. I always appreciate the doggie photos - thanks so much for this one.
@mara51506 - What an ordeal! I can't believe how resourceful you are all by yourself, and how you manage to keep your cool when things happen to you. I'd be a wreck. So glad you are OK.
3 -
@mara51506 Oh no! So scary and sad that you fell again. I am glad you weren't hurt. Maybe it was from being sick so you are weaker? Yes, keep your phone with you.
@goldensrbest Love the doggie photo. Something is wrong with a system that can't talk to two clinics and combine a MRI. So sorry you have to go through this twice in one week!
We have the annual Fire Department Christmas dinner tonight. Fortunately it isn't supposed to snow. I don't like driving at night in the snow. Our own little doggie (looks like Mel's) doesn't like the snow, or water, or baths so we have tried to set her up with a little covered area on the fake grass but she won't use it and prefers the edge of the patio. Usually she is so good! Fortunately snow here usually melts some the next day.

Decided to have a burrito. Did text DB since voice is still gone and very hoarse. Told him about the fall but that I am alright. I do not have the monthly monitoring money so I figure either take phone with me or get a smart watch that I can use to call 911 if need be. Apple watch seems to be able to detect falls and automatically dials 911. Also going to check into life alert, they have a light plan for 12.99. Will call when my voice comes back. I mostly like the apple watch because it has the upfront cost and not the monthly plan, I will see how I feel.
Cooking in the air fryer, got frozen chicken on the go and have a generous serving of lentils. Planning an early bed time so eat earlier. The cold symptoms minus the loss of voice seem to be easing up a bit. Not worried about my voice.
I will post but leaning toward the apple watch since it can tell if you fall and dials 911 for you no plan to go with it either.
5 -
Mara so scary. You are very resourceful to be able to move on your back and get comfortable. I echo everyone else in keep your phone nearby. I’m pretty sure the watch can make a call and wouldn’t take remembering to carry it.
Golden thanks for the snowy puppy picture. I hope you enjoy your party this evening.
blood vessel broke in my eye. It’s happened before and was nothing. I checked my bp and it’s 126/65 so I think I’ll just wait and see with this.Take care all

@goldensrbest Watching dogs in the snow just reminds me of being a younger person and loving the snow. Miss tobogganing . Mariah looks happy in the snow for sure. I will give some thought to the type of service I am looking for and their place in my budget. I have time as I am unable to talk yet.
I really enjoyed the chicken thighs and lentils. The chicken thighs were honey and garlic and just sprayed the air fryer lightly, dumped the lentils in then chicken, took around 20 mins. Nothing burned either but it was quite delicious. I love the crispy lentils.
I am looking at watches, I may also look at a second phone on a less expensive plan as an emergency phone, will look for best option for. It would live in my pants pocket. I do have life alert calling but I still have no voice so will be pointless. I do not have a ton of disposable cash to put down on something. Still thinking less expensive smart watch that uses bluetooth to make and receive calls as I am never without phone when I go out and in house, would be able to call 911 as needed. I will see what fits, no need to commit to anything anyway yet.
Got the smart watch, it can make calls through bluetooth and I do have my phone with me or nearby at all times. This should give me more protection. Also need to keep eyes on things that may trip me up in house too. Need to watch feet. It is a budget smart watch but only need it rarely. Not going to sign up for anything else currently.
6 -
I slept quite well but still quite sick. I don't feel particularly bad but still have the productive cough and little voice. Taking the expectorant in the day, help get rid of the productive chest but beyong just meds and water to hydrate, adding honey to medicine time to hopefully get the throat to the point I can talk. I am also rinsing sinuses as well.
My budget smart watch is coming today, only thing I want from that is the ability to call own phone, once I feel better, look into a life alert vibe. SIL says I can get one free, will look into it and how to apply post sickness. Cats are also getting a new treat to try out, a combo of chicken, beef and catnip flavour.
Nothing outstanding on the agenda, checking fridge as I put a couple of frozen things in back of fridge so need to heat them up. No idea what meal will come about. I do have to say, air fryer cleans up very well, soaked half hour from yesterdays delicious honey garlic chicken thighs and crispy lentils. Came totally clean easily. I also want to actually try using my mini grill for a frozen burger to have an extra ingredient to make different meals.
Laundry and a sweep, been using a cane around house, not really feeling necessity, also watching feet as I am stepping over the stepbench. My voice hoarseness was caused by me screaming for help, not the cold I figure. Treating voice with extra fluids like water and tea. I did have to use the phone and the guy could hear me but still quite hoarse. Adding honey to the mix when taking meds has helped a lot. Texted DB and SIL birthday wishes vs calling. Would like more of a voice by Wednesday.
If I make anything really good will post it, for now just having some macaroni and beef noodles, they are simple and good may have an egg sandwich later.
I hope everyone has a really good day and for anyone struggling, in pockets and in pockets for all.
4 -
@mara51506 Yikes Gir!! Ihate when I’ve fallen. Scary and it hurts (ouch) Do you have that thingy to wear around your neck? Mine sits on my DH’s desk and I do wear it when he goes out, but he won’t leave me for long and I wear it while he’s gone. If mine would go off he would know, they would call him.
@goldensrbest I love your snow doggy picture. Thanks for sharing. My little pug boys will not go out in the rain r snow. Maybe because the ar so low to the ground and small. The years our kids were growing up we had Great Danes, labs both black & yellow and English Bull dogs over the years. The all loved the snow, but never the pugs🖤🤎💛🩶🤍🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾……love each one of them so much,, and so saddened by each loss. the 2 that I have now never leave my side. I can’t imagine my life without them.
@intolight God bless firefighters! have a wonderful time. and by the way I always watch all the fire dept tv shows.🚒. I love them.
5 -
@shanagirl I am looking into the cheapest life alert there is. Still recovering from really bad cold and voice just starting to come back after foolishly screaming for help for an hour. I need to get more serious about exercise, just exhausted all of the time. Thankfully was physically unhurt.
I signed up for lifeline here in Canada, 43 bucks a month, cancelled all streaming channels not in use. Can use my vpn to stream shows or watch them the next day for free. Only kept youtube and free stuff. Made the mistake of telling SIL and she went off saying I should have gone through my disability. Told her I prefer to start right away. I am using the card that handles the rent, internet and mobile so I am unconcerned about paying extra but I will look into the disability thing when feeling better. Just wanted to start a service to feel safe at home sooner as opposed to later.. Have to stop being cranky when people want me to look into something else. It is immature on my part and stop calling if a minor fall happens, I will have service to help me with that. When I feel better I will look into it.
I get grumpy but realize that I bring it on myself when I tell them about a fall, if I can take care of it myself, I should do so, realize I do not need to run things by people all the, am 54 years old. Unless in hospital, no need to report every bruise, just causes me and them hassle. Budget is easily figured out by stopping the mcdonalds or other stuff, I get credit monthly as rewards for paying the rent, internet and mobile phone, can get 40 to 45 dollars monthly. That easily pays the lifeline charge. Oh well, that is life, I accidentally shredded my disability statement, will need to wait until end of month to get looking into whether the lifeline can be covered by disability.
On a good note, planning some air fryer pizza, add some lentils pre crisped to the top and extra cheese, later going to heat up a hamburger in a mini grill then take it to a frypan and add cheese and taco seasoning and lentils or something else, I will see.
Laundry and sweeping and a tidying of house is in order. Need to get more boxes in order too, ready for taking out on Thursday.
I do hope everyone has a good day and in pockets for all people.
8 -
@mara51506 Laying on the floor alone for three hours is not a little thing. You are right to get something to help you sooner. I pray daily for you living alone and going through all this without help. My DH put a squeeze horn by the toilet as that is where I usually pass out. But I usually have someone around; either my DH or my DD asleep downstairs (she works nights.) This way I don't need shout. I don't have a life alert yet as I am not quite there, but it is a good idea. You are doing a good job advocating for yourself and handling all you do.
6 -
@mara51506 Sorry to hear of your fall and sickness, glad you are feeling a little better. Agree you have to do what works and you feel comfortable doing! You can always adjust plans etc later after you speak with disability. The important thing is that you feel safe. Hope you feel better with each passing day.
@goldensrbest Awww adorable doggie pic glad she likes the snow! Buster loves the snow too, we"ll see if we get any measurable amount this year.Sounds like you had a fabulous Thanksgiving and bonus with quick travels. In your pocket for MR's this week🤞
@tanya_djamila Fingers crossed that the broken blood vessel is nothing.
@intolight Glad the roads are clear for you to get to your party, how was it? Dotto, God Bless all firefighters. Amazing and valiant people.♥️
All ok here, hoping for a quiet week! Wishing all a peaceful night.
4 -
Lunch was decided, put a frozen beef burger in the air fryer, mini grill too small for it, added rest of lentils in as well, put some garlic, 1 tsp and added dash of salt and sour cream, my idea is just eat meat and lentil together, no need for ground beef, just need a burger flip. Next meal will focus on frozen stir fry, have several of those to eat up.
EDIT Burger was really really good, mopped up the extra grease with a cloth, got same cloth, washed by hand with soap and soaking in a bit of dish soap, doing that first and see how it comes out, not a severe amount of grease, Lentils crisped up are really good as well, had a few reeses pieces after.

@cookie54 I am thinking of you and your husband .I’m glad to hear he is progressing .His heart is staying strong o the both of you. God bless him🙏
@mara51506 Is there a way your’ Doctor can prescribe a life alert necklace?. It’s just unacceptable that tithe your illness you had to lie ther for 3 hours after falling Nd using your own strength together help. you have a brain cancer it’s just not acceptable there is no prescription for you to access. I’m worried about you @irishlove take care of that strep throat. It can develop into so many complications including sepsis. Get on an antibiotic. Until then there is “throat tea”’ by twinnings or one of hose at the market. Put Rae honey and lemon and ginger root and drink it several times a day.
.Wow today i feel so tired and weak.i’ve been sneezing a lot and get that annoying cough sometimes at night. I don’t know if I’m fighting something off or just totally wiped out for radiation finishing after Thanksgiving.. i didn’t even feel up to going downstairs for breakfast,. Just feel to tired to move.
Saying high to @chicagoan . @betrayal thinking of @micmel @candy-678 @goldensrbest @intolight …….stay warm and restful.🩵

Between coughing fits, slept pretty well, not feeling to bad, still hungry for food. Did call in sick for Herceptin and cancelled Paratransit. They wanted me to go to the walk in clinic but told them no due to snowfall and mobile issues. She did not like it but at 54 if there is something I do not want to handle, it is being in a walk in clinic trying to get there myself. Appointments can be moved up. Did not feel like infecting people on the Paratransit.
Mostly dealing with persistent cough, turning to a more dry cough. Treating with honey as I am tired of cough syrup. I am also drinking a boatload of water. Though the cough sucks, I know to allow it to happen to remove icky stuff from chest. Oh well, other than coughing I am feeling alright, still have a healthy appetite. Not sure what I want to have yet, got a ton of food to choose from. I feel like lentils may replace beans for me in the air fryer unless I chop up the beans with cheese and do them in the air fryer, that could be good too. I will see what I wish to do a lot of choices to be had. I do enjoy the frozen burger from Walmart, grease was wiped off and out of air fryer easily.
Today decided on Kraft Dinner, added some sour cream vs butter. Decided to add some riced veggies to it. Added the cheese package and went back and forth stirring the mix, I also added some queso too. I will see how it comes together.
Not sure what to have later. Found older tortillas in the container that holds my instant pot and air fryer, not moldy so figure that they are usable for other purposes or to make crunchy stuff. I will post if I think it is good.
Hope everyone is having a good day, and in pockets for all.
5 -
So the Kraft Dinner Meal was good, it did featured frozen riced veggies, sour cream instead of milk and butter and put in the cheese powder right away. Added some sour cream and onion seasoning and some garlic spread. It did get stirred every once in a while and stayed on the burner with a lid. I must say this was a super creamy dish and it was really enjoyable to me. No shredded cheese as not much left in fridge but will pull some from the freezer. I found it quite delicious. There is a lot left over, think I may toast english muffin with butter and add as a side to the pasta, I will see.
4 -
What is it with this cough that does not go away??? @mara51506 I hear you. Since the summer I have been plagued with these on and off again cough fits. I’ve read that cough not going away is a side effect of these meds we have to take.. mine has become less with these natural teas I’ve been making. But when I want a night without cough I take Robitussin DM night time. Also , last night I made a cup of hot chamomile tea with honey turmeric , black pepper& ginger, with lemon. I added a tablespoon of beet smoothie to it. I’m trying to keep my immune system up because I don’t want another bout of “unresolved Pneumonia”. Take good care @mara51506 .🩵
@intolight How was the Firemen’s party. did you enjoy? I watch Chicago Fire 🔥 Series. Good show.,… also Fire Country. these show really show what these firemen & women do by putting themselves on the line to fight these fires in behalf of the communities. Thank you for your service. My nephew is also a full time Firefighter.👩🚒🚒
R
5 -
@shanagirl The fireman's party is always good. My DH is a volunteer chaplain and was never a fireman although he was a volunteer firefighter when we lived in Nevada for his first church assignment. There was only one full-time fireman on duty at any one time and he needed help. My DH also worked for the sheriff's department for a few years in California and Colorado and went through the academy so he could be more effective. That meant he had to carry a gun for awhile. He now gets called out to help families with sudden death or other traumatic incidences and is available for any firemen who may need him. The firemen graciously invite us to their party. There are four chaplains and we tend to migrate to the same table. The food was excellent and I ate way too much! We all leave once the dancing starts.
I have that nagging little cough also and I haven't been sick. It is annoying! How is your back pain? I hope you have found some relief so you can function.
5 -
@shanagirl Thanks for the well wishes for hubby, he is doing well. Crazy thing his older brother started having chest pressure and he had a blockage! Thank God he listened to the signs and also my DH kept telling him to go. A stent was placed yesterday so he is ok! Ugh sorry you're feeling so wiped out, hmmm I wonder if it is se from rads. Fingers crossed that you feel perkier today.there was a member on the site who drinks a tea to give her energy it’s called Ayurvedic .she delicious. It sounds like you’re a tea drinker.
@mara51506 sorry you’re dealing with an annoying cough. I hope it doesn’t keep you up at night.!I would have canceled my appointment too.first of all, you’re not feeling 100% and then I agree with you you don’t wanna go out and spread your germs.hope today is a better day.
@micmel thinking of you and Gabby hope things are going smoothly 🤞🏻
Figured I would include some pictures of Buster Lorenzo. I haven’t posted any recently. He’s enjoying the Christmas tree🥰hope you’re all having a good day.❌⭕️
