Newly diagnosed IDC
Well, I got the call today. IDC in left breast, 10mm. Waiting to hear back about bio markers and will meet with oncology team next week. I’m alternating between panic and numbness. I would like to connect with others like me so I don’t feel quite so alone.

@amerli - I’m sorry that you have gotten to this point, where I was in August last year. It is tough waiting for all the test results to find out what is recommended for your treatment, and the decisions that you need to make. Hopefully you will feel good about your doctor’s recommendations and that they can explain to your satisfaction. Ask lots of questions! They’re supposed to be there to help you. Don’t doom scroll! There’s enough time to research once you get the details on your diagnosis. One thing I have heard consistently is that breast cancer is (unfortunately) common so I found it comforting that there is a lot of research and evidence behind what treatment I was recommended, even though nothing is ever 100% certain. Also, once I was given a treatment plan, I focused on getting through it, it’s a process and will take a lot of time. Good luck to you! You got this!

I am finding it so hard to cope with the uncertainty and the unknown before I meet with my oncology team next week. I have a small child and I feel like the wind has been knocked out of me. Bumping this thread for any words of support or positive stories. I’ll take pet photos too :)

I got that call on Halloween, also IDC. The pre surgery work up took forever and the waiting for answers was agonizing. I don’t have any advice on how to make that part better. I felt much better once I had a plan. I had a lumpectomy on Dec 19 and I start radiation tomorrow. I hope you get some answers soon. There is a lot of help out there. I have a long commute so a lot of my research was podcasts. Hearing other women’s stories was very comforting to me.
