4C BIRADS and really worried
Hi All- I am new in this forum and am just starting even learn about breast and it's diagnosis. I have always had normal mammograms and went in for diagnostic and got categorized as 4C yesterday—which I know is not good. I keep reading about metastatic cancer and I keep thinking about all the worst case scenarios that could play out over and over again. I am really terrified and scared and am having trouble sleeping.. I have two young children and no family that lives nearby to help. I have a biopsy on Monday. Thanks for listening to me.

Hi @heatherm100, I'm sorry that you are undergoing the stress of waiting for a biopsy and its results. The chance of BiRADS 4C being cancer is 50 - 95% so the biopsy might turn out to be benign. Without other symptoms it is unlikely that any cancer found would be metastatic. Imaging alone cannot tell what you are dealing with so the difficult wait is necessary. Try to keep busy and don't borrow worry. Hopefully you'll get a benign result. If not this is a good site for information and support. Let us know how things turn out. All the best.

Thanks so much for your message- you really made my day! I just needed someone to say something that had a glimmer of hope in it! I don't have any other symptoms right now. Although since I got the birads 4c I have started to feel so sick because I am soo worried. I have had trouble eating and sleeping. You are totally right about staying busy. I will keep you posted on the biopsy on Monday. I definitely have a lot to learn about diagnosis and treatment. Thank you

Hi Heat
I hope the result was good. I was worried about you. Not being able to eat and feeling sick is normal during this process.

Hello @heatherm100;
I was just diagnosed with IDC yesterday. I couldn’t imagine doing this with young children. I hope you’re able to relax a bit more, make sure you’re eating too. You’re in my thoughts, reach out if you want to.
