    Hi @baylisummer , welcome to Breastcancer.org!

We're sorry you're going through this, and we understand that you're scared. Right now, try to remember that nothing has been confirmed yet. A lump, breast enlargement, or even what doctors suspect on an exam or imaging does not automatically mean stage 2. The biopsy results are what will provide the important information about whether it is cancer, what type it is, and what the next steps may be. We know the waiting is often one of the hardest parts because it’s so easy to fear the worst, but please remember we’re here for you if you need to talk.

We’ve moved your post into this new discussion, in the "Waiting for Test Results" forum so that other members who have been through similar situations are more likely to see it and share their experiences.

Please let us know when you get your results, and you are welcome to keep posting any questions or worries meanwhile. We’re here for you.

  • I am in a similar boat. Felt a lump, noticed a dimple. Had a mammogram and ultrasound. Was told at the ultrasound (NEVER got results or next steps so quickly) that I need to have an ultrasound guided needle biopsy. The findings are BI-RADS 5 - Highly suggestive of malignancy. So now I am trying to get an early appointment (had to find some form of discounted program as no insurance till October). But the waiting is so stressful.
