RE: zero compression bra rec
Hi
I had a unilateral mastectomy, lymph node biopsy and tissue expander placement sept 25. My reconstruction surgeon said no compression but I am desperate for something to wear. My other breast is large with droop and I have zero dressings only dermabond. I was only post up with dressing that has since been removed. I cannot seem to get a response from the reconstruction dr and surgical oncology and my breast care navigator defer to her. Does anyone have any type of suggestions for a no compression bralette, or anything that would help me feel covered on the amputation side and somewhat supported on the breast side? Anyone ever try a anaona francis bra?

Hi,
I am amazed. I had unilateral mastectomy, lymph node biopsy and tissue expander placement May 21. My natural breast is 75 yrs old and a 38GGG. Very much large and droopy.
I was told to wear a sports bra 24/7. I know different medical practices have different views, but we seem totally opposite.
I used many different bras but have no experience with the one you mentioned.
On August 31, a permanent implant was put in, and I had a reduction/lift on the natural breast. Now wearing surgical bras 24/7, the sport ones seem too tight.
I feel your pain, I detest having to beg for answers and feeling ignored. Hopefully, you will get some help soon.

Please keep calling your breast surgeon’s office and don’t stop bugging them until they give you a proper answer. That’s aggravating that they’re not answering your concerns especially as you’re so recently out of surgery.
I’d had an SMX too, but my surgeon had put me into a post-surgical bra that they’d provided, with a lot of bandaging on the SMX side. The nurse practitioner had called it a “compression bra”, but honestly I didn’t feel like it was super-tight or binding, as there were adjustable clasps and zippers, and they had adjusted it to fit me without being uncomfortable. Whenever I washed that one, I wore a cotton front-close sports bra from Amazon which came in S, M, L sizing. The SMX side was obviously gaping until I had my expander filled to match my healthy side, but at least I was not terribly uncomfortable or unsupported.

@ammie @jerimanelle Thank you for commenting. I was so frustrated I made an appt with a specialty surgical bra shop, but also managed to finally get a hold of the plastic surgeon who gave me a prescription for tha shop, a post op bra and said I could wear a sports bra. It really helped my mental state to put something on! I used to love an underwire bra so trying to adjust. ❤️
