Oncotype Score
Just learned my score is 26 and I'm sure this adds chemo to my treatment. I'm afraid

Hi @timberland1195, we're sorry for the worries that have led you here. While an oncotype score of 26 does typically put breast cancer patients over the threshold into receiving benefit from chemotherapy, your medical team might also consider using the RSClinN+ tool to measure your personal benefit vs. risk. The RSClinN+ tool offers an additional measure of recurrence risk and chemo benefit than the Oncotype test alone.
Take it one step at a time. If it does turn out that you will need chemo, we're here to support you and guide you through it so that your experience can be much more manageable than you fear.

Hi @timberland1195 -
I'm sorry that you have to join this not so elite 'club', but glad that you have found us.
It's a LOT to take in isn't it? Even though I've been through this twice now, getting an oncotype score of 39 was a real gut punch for me. In my case, it meant certain chemotherapy. I went into that emotionally kicking and screaming. It wasn't pleasant, but I got through it and you WILL too if that ends up happening.
The boards always can show you someone who has been in a worse situation that has come through it. In case you haven't seen this thread yet, you might want to check out this one:
…and your score is low compared to many of these people.
As the mods noted, take things one step at a time. Put one foot in front of the other and you will get through it. When I went through chemo, I made a calendar to hang on the wall. I just really needed something I could cross off the days and see that there was an endpoint for getting through that and on with life.
We're here for you. You can do this!
Take care.

Yes, with an Oncotype score of 26 and two first degree relatives with pancreatic cancer I have decided on chemotherapy.
Port placement next week and chemo by the end of the month. 1 day infusion, then 21 days off. Neulasta day after infusion. I will lose my hair. 😪 Three weeks after chemo is done I will begin 20 sessions of radiation.

Hello timberland1195, sorry you have joined our group, but you're in the right place. You will get through the chemotherapy and radiation; it just takes time. Listen to your medical team, ask questions when your unsure of anything, prepare yourself with additional self care items & information - in short, this is the time to take care of YOU! Prayers for you and all those going through treatment.
