Re: My Husband, My Life, My Love, My Family, My Cancer
Irishlove, that candle lighting is such a beautiful ritual. Brought tears to my eyes to read that.
So many of us are struggling, and also trying to hold onto hope and grace. It's been three years since my husband passed, and some days I'm just not sure what I'm still here for. But keeping his memory alive, our shared memories, can be really beautiful too. If that's my only reason to be here, it's a pretty good one.
In pockets for all those getting scans, changing treatments, and anyone just feeling alone. 🕯

@goldensrbest In your DH's pocket and yours, too. Prayers for a clear colonoscopy tomorrow. Those cologard tests can give false positives.
@intolight In your pocket and prayers for a good pet scan tomorrow. I had to laugh about your DH cooking sausage as mine does that at least 3 times a week. Not in my meal plan either. LOL
@wren44 I am so sorry this winter bug is visiting you, too. It seems wide spread. I hope you are able to get relief and heal quickly.
@micmel Oh how we all worry about you and Gabby, too. Lots of love and prayers for her to finish her chemo and never look back. Also, glad your doctor is listening to what your needs are, not what the heck they think. Sis and I talked today and it was 16 degrees at her house, minus the wind chill factor. Stay toasty warm sweet lady.
@mara51506 Did not see you post today? Hope you are just getting some extra rest. Sending thoughts and prayers your way.
Today was light a candle for all in need. We always light a candle to welcome the Christ child on Christmas Eve. My Grammy K. taught us this wonderful tradition. My sis still has the candle that Grammy last lit in 1991. Sis lights it for 2 minutes and stands on the front porch of her home, which was also our childhood home (Grammy and PopPop's). We talk to each other as I hold a candle while standing in front of my home 1000 miles away. We both hope our daughters will continue this tradition.
In pockets for all your needs.

@micmel My heart hurts for you and Gabby. It is good to read stories where medical doctors actually care and help. Thanks for posting this.

Re: My Husband, My Life, My Love, My Family, My Cancer
checking in on everyone. Got 8 inches of snow. 18degrees. Brrrrrr hate this. Chemo continues for Gabbie. It’s so looong and difficult for her. I just want her to be done. Scares me to think it could come back. Mara glad you’re ok. Sounds like some of you don’t feel too good. I’m thinking of you all and sending hugs Thanksgiving was ok. Two of our clan couldn’t make it. DH ds worked at Hopkins hospital cardiac unit for the overtime. His girlfriend went home. We missed them. DH got the tree up. I didn’t decorate no energy. I’ve had a hard time with new doctors and new medication decisions I would not accept. So I fired one doctor and got another one back. I cried in her arms. “ help me”. I was at my wits end. The pain had me. Luckily she recognized me and was very receptive to helping me with my medicine problems. She fixed things and I cried. Such a relief when you need something. And someone takes away what you need because they want to reinvent the wheel. So I’m settling down from that. I hate cancer. Beyond hate it. I think of you all the time . Tanya, how is the eye? Love to all.

@moongazer Sending big hugs of comfort and wishes for health and strength as you ride these terrible waves.
Hi all along with . @livinglifenow and @ssales13 My new dog Teddi’s first snow (she’s a rescue from TX)! She has brought so much love, cuddles and activity since she came into our lives late Sept. - so thankful for her. Been feeling rather well and hoping that is a good omen before my next scans in early Jan. Heading to Bahamas for a family vacation next week - DD and her husband and DS and his GF are coming with us. First Bahamas visit and first time for all kids - So excited!!
Sending big holiday cheer (Chanukah and Christmas) to all and big wishes that we all have only good health news in 2026♥️ juliana xox
Re: Stage IV MBC Fitness
Hi, ladies! I recognize a lot of you here. Oh, exercise! It sounds like many of us had been avid exercisers in the past. I am currently trying to get in 7K steps/day. The weather has gotten crazy nice here this week, so lots of walking outdoors. Sometimes I do take my dog with me—on a leash! 🐕🦺
I also try to do light weights for upper body, and squats and hip lifts, etc. for legs. Trying real hard to avoid Zometa. My MO says as long as no bone mets show up on scans and my DEXA scan stays out of osteoporosis range, we can wait. Interestingly, my last DEXA scan showed an improvement in my hip of 0.3%. Those squats must be helping.
Heading out for another walk. Wishing everyone a lovely day.
Hugs, Pam 💗
Re: How long have you been Stage IV?
Graduated to Stage IV-2025
Hormone positive-HER2 negative
Once again-finding breast cancer, because of 2nd recent lung cancer surgery/diagnostics-Station 4R-1 node removed-capsule was broken
Possible malignancy-IMC-1 node R
from Stage 1B- 2022
Right breast US: There is a 12 mm x 9 mm x 16 mm hypoechoic mass in the 2:00 position of the right breast 12 cm from the nipple which appears to correlate with the finding on PET scan.Ultrasound of the right axilla demonstrates no morphologically abnormal lymph nodes. Upper inner quadrant-deep-along muscle.
This was removed. Declined radiation. 2 attempts hormone therapy failed. Beyond negative side effects.
PET scan was for lung cancer.
Twice it was testing for lung cancer that resulted in discovery of breast cancer
Cat scans never showed the mass in my upper inner quadrant.
Mammos every year for almost 30 years.
Recovering from recent rt lung surgery(severe to mild spine/ back pain)-paused aromasin-maybe I'll resume-radiation is most likely not feasible.
Genetic testing results upcoming
Consult: radiation upcoming
2 year DEXA upcoming
Borderline for osteoporosis
This is not a good time.
