Wallycat, it is very windy here now. My DH has battery back-up for my oxygen and a generator if need be. I am sorry your DH is struggling. I am on the verge of tears too but hanging tight. Sending hugs.
Re: December 2021 Surgeries
I had my surgery last week on the 29th, skipped my 6th chemo and opted for surgery, and just I received the news from my surgeon that my results were what they call a pathological complete response - meaning all tissue including lymph nodes were clear of cancer. 🎉💪🏼
Chemo completely sucked but it worked!!! And, bonus, I have started eating again. 🍽
Waiting to hear from my oncologist as to how much radiation I will now be scheduled for as well as the remaining treatments.

OK, got some answers. I found out SIL situation, have to keep quiet as she asked me not to say any details but she has a lot going on, DB is in the middle of all of it so I feel for him.
Brain surgery is definitely happening, he wants the cyst out of there and wants to see about removing mets that were already there. Once done, will have PT and OT and looking into services. They were very nice, need a presurgery checkup.
We also had to discuss my DNR. Typically I am a DNR person but have to be willing to be brought back or the surgery would not happen so signed off on being brought back during surgery. Also need to get a will done and official Power of Attorney as they said that younger brother could be contacted and we are estranged. Luckily will is pretty easy but need to get a legal power of attorney. All of that will be coming.
Surgery will be sometime in January.
I am not feeling nervous particularly because I was expecting surgery anyway, now just have to go through the steps, get services for possible OT, Pt, who knows. I am in own pocket and DB and SIL pocket as well. Life certainly can pile on but we will get through it.
I was really hungry by end of appointment so they took me to the drive in at Mcdonald's, I do appreciate having the same neurosurgeon as well.

Shanagirl - my MO just suggested I see my regular ortho doc. So I will plan to do that. In doing some research, it is possible for the ortho to repair the labrum tear through arthroscopy but the recovery is almost worse than a joint replacement. Requires weeks using crutches, which there is no way I could do that.
Prayers were answered - DHs pathology of 11 polyps came back benign. Thanks be to God!

What a night and day….I swear a tornado touched down, but maybe it was just horrific winds. Lost power at 1am and just got it back an hour ago. Amazed that the duck breasts arrived this morning, frozen and safe.
DH had a fall this morning…recovering OK. I spent the morning crying… so far, 2 pills under his belt.
I used my butane stove to heat up canned chili for lunch. Maybe frozen pizza for dinner tonight; I made nachos last night.

Shana girl, it has been 8 years since my original LCI and they did lumpectomy and Arimidex for 5 years. So it’s 8 years between. Is that soon? What is a liquid biopsy? Is that the genetic testing he did my last visit? I know I will become more familiar with all of this…..and thank you for the quick response. I’m a little nervous about tomorrow, and glad radiation helps the pain. Thank you everyone ❤️

oh thank you for getting back to me. I go for my first radiation consult tomorrow morning so hopefully we can get this ball rolling. Even pain pills don’t seem to help but I meditated and it has calmed down thank goodness. I had it yesterday and today. Hopefully it will stay manageable. Thank you for sharing your sternum story.

I am going to first radiation meeting tomorrow and hopefully will be starting radiation soon. This morning I woke up to a stabbing pain in my sternum which has been coming and going. Had it yesterday when I was at pain management appt. Has anyone ever had this sharp pain in their sternum and what do they do for that? Does radiation help? I am in so much pain medicine and this pain in my sternum scares me. It comes and goes. Thanks guys.❤️🙏 I guess my history not showing up with my name, so I am just diagnosed with stage 4 BC that has gone to my ribs, sacrum, spine and I have many pinched nerves in many places so they are going to do epidural in a few weeks. It’s been 8 years since originally getting breast cancer. I have to find out how to fill out profile properly, I apologize. I am also on Tamoxin.
