Re: Second DCIS, same breast, strong family history -- remove one breast or both?
Thank you. Those are good ideas. More genetic testing might be wise; I'm just not sure I can get it done before the surgery, which I expect to happen in the next few weeks. I'll reach out to the hospital and see what they say.
I believe this second cancer is ER positive, but I didn't see anything about PR positive. First DCIS was positive for both. Can't have a breast MRI because of a magnetic implant behind my breastbone. (Long story.) Ultrasound was clear for the other breast, though.
I'm sorry you've dealt with this twice too. And yeah, I also feel much more prepared this time, and much less panicked. So at least there's that. :)
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
All animals at the sanctuary were rescued due to injury, owner abuse or illegal possession of a non-native animal. They live out their natural lives there.

Sloth with her 3 week old son.
When it's lunch time sloths move quickly.
3 week old on left and 4 month old on right. Both are orphans due to mom hit by car and other mom killed by a dog.

@petite1 @betrayal your holiday adventure photos are great! I've been viewing them numerous times. I work all this weekend and it's super slow. So I was able to catch up on all 49 new posts!!! Tomorrow I have my annual eyeball tests and Tuesday an endometrial biopsy. Exercise this week will be tricky as I miss all three of my scheduled classes for appointments. ugh. I'm watching baseball Go Jays Go as well as hockey and saw the last period of the Nuckleheads vs Washington today. Canucks are lucky it stayed 4-3. They went into the third at 4-1. ugh.
Kitties are not amused that the weather is tipping but still try to go out if I open the door to the catio, Hope everyone is doing well.

I was diagnosed with DCIS and ended up after 2 surgery’s having a bilateral mastectomy. Pathology showed minor DCIS in the “good” breast. I’m so thankful I went ahead and had the bilateral.
Re: thread for middle age to older Christian women.
Hello,
My name is Susie, I'm 49 and I am a Christian. Thank you for starting this thread! When I first started visiting bc.org, it broke my heart to see the "anybody else an atheist but me" thread and the fact it had so many posts. I don't know how people get through this without the Good Lord. I know without a doubt that all the prayers that were said for me brought me through this and I give him all the praise and the glory for it! Our Heavenly Father is SO Good!
