Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
No lasting side effects from chemo 2. We leave next Tuesday for Bangkok arriving Thursday (plane leaves Wednesday at 12:10 am). Then Friday we fly to Laos. I’m feeling fine. Real worry is luggage weight. My personal item weighs more than my suitcase with my liquids bag and medical supplies. And we’re only allowed 7 kilos or 15 lbs
Coming off of Arimidex
Hi all!
Soon I will be coming off of Arimidex after 10 years!
I'm nervous but hoping that maybe I will feel better.
My eyes are getting worse and my hair has thinned soooooo much. I can see my scalp on top. I’m hoping I will also have more energy! I’m wanting to know if anyone can answer these questions for me? Will my eyesight get better and will my hair grow back? Also will I have more energy?
TYIA! God bless all of you!

@wren44 I hope you have warmed up and are feeling better. My tumor markers are growing so I am trying to schedule my next scan to try to see what is going on. If progression means I need a change, I fear I may be out of oral medicine options and will need to switch to chemo. I am resisting but we shall see.

Chris, my orthotics last 1-2 years at max. The body weight on them compresses them, sometimes sooner or later. This is what a script had to say for mine to be covered between Medicare and my secondary: One pair customer foot orthotics; coding: 247.89. This is my first time not having to pay for them. Here they’re up to $520, includes the orthotics and as many visits necessary.
At our dermatology appointment yesterday the dr noted my one toenail is coming off. I’ve never lost a nail. This is from the surgery on toes next to it. He says the new nail is under it and it will peel off eventually.
This morning we were up at 5:15 AM; to the gastro office before 6 AM. I went in for the sign in and left for the procedure. We’re about 5-7 minutes away. I picked him up by 8:10. They found 4 polyps, sessile, under 4mm - believed to be benign, and removed them. Follow-up in 3 years for surveillance. Although his son, a gastroenterologist said newer protocol is 5-7 years; he’ll do it again in 3.
I took a “nap” for an additional hour around 9:30; total sleep 4 hrs. SO is in bed now, I don’t think he slept more than an hour last night.
I’ve got a chill. House feels cold but isn’t. It’s probably from lack of sleep. I’m fully dressed, with my fuzzy robe on too - which lets me feel comfortable.
Let’s go JAY’s!! Last night was good.

I had my second chemo today and the room was so cold I had my coat on and 3 blankets. Went to bed when I got home and was shivering until dinner. I will be wearing fleece next month for sure
