Re: Starting radiation in December 2025? Gather here for support!
I start radiation after Christmas. I am nervous, but hoping it helps with the pain I am having from stage 4 breast cancer that has moved to my ribs, back and spine. Been on Tamoxifen since 12/5. I hope the pain I have lessons🙏 I am tired of taking pain meds and certainly don’t like side effects like constipation. That’s the last thing I need. Merry Christmas to all🎄❤️
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
I love the small trees that Taco and Teka posted. They are just the right touch of Christmas.
Petite - I would be very sad to have the forest of trees taken down. I realize we have a shortage of housing in some areas but we desperately need trees for our environment.
Betrayal - I hope your sleep and your back improve soon. It sounds really miserable.
Cindy - I enjoy hearing about your life - active as always. I doubt I could have kept my mouth shut with the uneducated person talking about renaming the JFK Center for Performing Arts.
We arrived home around 9pm last night. We had a great time - just the right mix of sightseeing and relaxing. The laundry is done and everything is put away. I’ve made a grocery list so DH can go shopping tomorrow. I’ll need to go to the butcher. I picked up some throat congestion last week and am having coughing fits at times, mostly in the morning when I wake up. Cold-ez is helping. I’m also quite tired.
We typically have e a very low key holiday with just the three of us. I’ll talk with both my brothers this week but per usual we will not be seeing them. We will be celebrating with DH’s family on Saturday. It’s not my favorite thing to do but I don’t want to deprive DH of time with his family. We are all getting older so one never knows how many more times we can gather. Although we’ve been married for 45 years I’ve never felt comfortable with his family. His older sister and older brother and their spouses were all educators and had kids around the same time so they have lots in common and I’ve always felt excluded. It didn’t help when I was diagnosed with BC in 2020 just before Christmas and DH’s older sister told me that cancer was just an inconvenience. After that I didn’t go to any family get togethers until late 2023. So I’ll go on Saturday, keep my mouth shut and try to be a good sport.
Wishing all a good week.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
I put a roast in the crockpot so dinner is done for tonight. I still don't feel any better after stopping Orserdu to get my body ready for chemo. I am hoping I feel decent for Christmas as a "gift" to myself. It's the little things!
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Thank you, ladies. I'm hanging in there. DH just doesn't understand that the lesions are the cause for his balance and strength issues ….and yes, the impermanence of everything…still, so hard. At least no headaches and no pain, for now.
I made frozen pizza last night. Tonight, come heck or high water, I will make the ribeyes!!! I hope.
We have very few ethnic choices out here. I say it is a desert for good places to eat, unless you are a tourist and have $$$$$ to blow on a meal and expect usual stuff.

Taco, what a pretty little tree. Like I said before, I have a little one, but it is a bit sad.
