@cblaurenceauthor So glad you were able to see your favorite doctor yesterday. I so hope the meds you are on now kick in. It is obvious you care deeply for your father. Prayers sent that you both will have time for more memories. The COVID idea, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
I signed up for pallative nursing care, to help with pain control and other problems that go along with MBC. The RN visits me once a month and I feel comfortable with her. I know when the time comes, she will implement the hospice program thru her non-profit employer for me. She already knows my wishes so things should go smoother. Praying we all do not need these services for some time to come.

Hi @elena_p - welcome! Wish we could have met under different circumstances. I was diagnosed with stage 4 from out of the blue in Jan of this year. No breast cancer in my family on either side. I am on this treatment as my first line and have been having successful results. I am also blessed with an amazing husband and very supportive family and friends. Since I do not look sick or act sick, I have been able to live my life as though I have a chronic ailment, as Tough mentioned above. I am not as physically active as I used to be but I still play pickle ball, spin class every once in a while, multi-mile walks with our new dog and resistance training to keep up muscle strength.
You will come to learn how do deal with your new normal in your own way. This forum here is such a wonderful place to connect with others who are dealing with their new normals or who have been here for years ( these women give me so much hope that it is possible to manage my panic attacks). You learn so much, feel fully supported and welcome whether you post and interact everyday or just once in a while.
Definitely check out the other topics! You will start to recognize names, learn important helpful relevant info, know stories and come to feel like you have a new community and new friends.

@eleanora sorry to read its time for a drug change, those are always hard to adjust to. I tend to switch drugs every couple of months lol. So can relate. I was on Trodelvy for a couple of months and had no bad SE. Every body is different of course, happy to answer any questions if that is helpful. ❤️❤️ hugs for the transition . The only certainty is the anticipated … sending joy for your mountains visioning or visiting.

thank you, @tougholdcrow and @moderators. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions, from absolute shock to despair to grief and then a glimpse of hope. Now that I think about it there haven’t been many ups 😅. My amazing husband and our 8 yo son keep me going for sure.
I started the letrozol today, the kisqali and zoladex later this week and the bone shot next week after my dentist checkup. Let’s see how this goes, I’m trying to stay positive but it’s not always easy. I guess as time goes by I’ll be more accepting of the situation, will obsess less over it and focus on living my life despite adversity.
I slowly read this thread (52 pages and many years covered, wow!) and hope you are all doing well.

Hey @leigha, I jsut stumbled upon this comment as I am experiencing the VERY same thing post-core biopsy. Stabbing pain when I go without a bra, lean over. I, too, had a small area that didn't take to the anesthetic and I jumped like hell (with my breast captured in a mammogram thingy). I am wondering what the outcome was for you… how long did it take for the pain to go away, what helped, etc.

@mara51506 Oh I'd hibernate if it was that cold when I lived in the mountains of Boone, NC. The wind seems to just go right thru a person. I wish I could just think up a good meal without too much fuss, but mine usually involves eggs.

Mara, the chair isn't motorized. I don't think DH trusts me. lol. Haven't tried it yet.
Some notes: I restarted Ibrance after 40 some days off. I prayed over the med as I took it, envisioning healing power. Took a peek at DH's blood test. His numbers are the same, so no chemo yet or with luck, no chemo at all. Pfizer sent their packet for patient assistance. It's lenghty (again) more negatives then positives in obtaining the assistance. So I called the "Angels" to make sure I wasn't dreaming about a voucher for Ibrance. I wasn't and the RN I spoke with had a good belly laugh. So happy to throw Pfizer papers away! DS is in the hospital, again, for pancreatitis, again. Spoke to his wife and she's on his patient portal to keep an eye on things. They transported him from Atrium Hospital (a huge hospital) because they did not have a room for him. He's at Mercy now. He doesn't see the specialist till Dec. 13th. Wish they'd move that date up…

@intolight Oh I hope the snow is just a dusting. It's nerve wracking enough dealing with medical appts. and then worrying about getting to them. We just have to worry about falling iguanas when it's around the freezing mark. I don't like it if the DH accidentally hits them. True story. Although here in Palm Coast they are more than likely to be cameleons. lol
Thanks for the supporting words on Ibrance. I've been on it 2 1/2 yrs. with some side effects. I was off the length of time due to bacterial pneumonia. That is one wicked illness. DS is unable to talk to his Mama due to pain meds. He is on morphine and still in some pain. I think he needs a Registered Dietician to help him with a menu. But we won't know much for almost 4 weeks. I'll see him for Christmas. Hard to wait around worrying.

I was going to make chopped potatoes, eggs, beans and cheese. Decided to follow the KISS method of food, keep it simple stupid. Just opened the black beans, took 2/3 of a cup, dumped into my chopper with chips and cheese shreds had some chips in the beans and cheese chop, just to dry out and offer other flavour. Heated in a sprayed and buttered pan. Heated for a minute on high and then shut off to allow flavours to come together. I did also mix a bit of the cheesy seasoning from old elpaso and some of the mild taco and added some queso and sour cream as binders.
I quite enjoyed the beans only meal, 2/3 cup was enough for the beans, shredded cheese and the few chips that went into the chop were good. Heating in the fry pan was the easiest. I put a small squirt of the sour cream and lime and a teeny squirt of queso and jalepeno.
It was DELICIOUS and simple to make and will definitely do that kind of meal again. Although I did take digestive enzyme and immodium, the fiber did exactly as it should do. The beans do sit well with me just after supper and just as well now. Happy.

@mkestrel I am so sorry to hear about your bad scans and drug change to Trodelvy. EDIT, deleted unasked for advice re possible SE, should you have questions in the future. I am in your pocket lending moral support and a supportive ear. I am hoping there is a chance for you to get outdoors or even to the mountains.

@eleanora I hate when the scan radiologist just report “scattered Mets” on a stable scan. I want to know exactly where EACH met is scattered…, and I do have rib pain and some pain on a spine vertabrae. I have Mets on T 10& 11 I also have posterior Mets on ribs 5& 9 and I wonder if this is all kin do connected regarding some pain I get often. So I had my Rad today only 10 minute session. Out quickly thank goodness☺️
