Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
@betrayal You are so busy! You exhaust me! I have a dental cleaning next week. I have a dental phobia so I don't sleep the night before either even though it is only a cleaning. Ugh! But it is important we keep up on these because of our meds. I waited until I was in my 30s before I had my ears pierced. My parents were old-school religious and wouldn't let me do it. I am not sure why I still waited so long since I got married at 19. But oh well…they were done at a mall and have been good although since I wear oxygen 24/7 I don't wear earrings much anymore. But the holes are still good when I need them. We did our six-month Sam's run today…very expensive day but it will hold us until about May. We also have a Costco but decided we only needed one membership store. Sams has what we use. I can't imagine all you are going through with the restoration. I hate having my house upended like that, but I know it was necessary.
It is still warm here today and I noticed we are not the only ones in the neighborhood with Christmas decorations in the yard already. We have to do it before the ground freezes.
My DH has a PAE prostate procedure scheduled for the morning. I pray this helps him. Fortunately there is no cancer and this should fix it. A specialist comes to town once a month and does them so we are fortunate to get on his rotation. It should be quiet around here for a couple of days.
Re: Biopsy not concordant with breast images
My 3rd opinion breast surgeon sent me for two MRI guided biopsy which my appointment is tomorrow. They are doing the biopsy on both the 2.1 cm architectural distortion and the 7cm linear nme. She did tell me I will need surgical removal no matter what the biopsy says of the architectural distortion. Thank you for replying 🙏
Re: Capecitabine - Side Effects
Hi @tazzy24 - Welcome! We’re so glad you posted, though sorry you’re dealing with this again.
Many members on capecitabine have shared similar fingertip issues, so you’re definitely not alone. You might find our main-site page helpful: Xeloda: What to Expect, Side Effects, and More.
We hate the reason you’re back, Michele, but we’re grateful you’re here.

Thoughts on not taking Anastrozole for a 75 year old woman and 0 oncotype
My stepmom was recently diagnosed with early stage ER+/PR+ (HER2-) BC and had a lumpectomy and radiation. She already has a lot of the side effects from Anastrozole from her age and other issues, and while I know it's her decision with her doctor, I am wondering if anyone has opted out of taking it. Her oncotype score was 0 and the margin of recurrance (she's told) is 3% vs. 5%.
Any insight is welcome - thank you!
