Cookie, that sounds scary, glad it resolved on its own but yeah seeing opthalmologist will help. Hope everything is fine and that it was a one off, in you pocket anyway. Glad CT was negative.
Shanagirl, have a good appointment in PT.
Slept pretty well overnight which I know is nothing new but there it is.
Unsure what I want to do yet today if anything. Got a mobile game that is pretty easy and quick to earn a few bucks that I can put into my rent and bills budget. I also take interest now and set that aside for budgeting.
As far as food, think I need to include a couple of eggs, got canned vienna sausage, and any beans leftover, microwave first, once cooled, chop in the chopper and add to a frypan on high heat with garlic and canola on the bottom, stir couple of times. Turn off the burner and cover with a lid. Optional ingredients can include queso and other stuff I choose, should taste good. Option 2 may use up meatballs and be made the same way with eggs and beans. I will see. I am also thinking of frying up some frozen veggies like the neverending peppers. I will post after deciding what to have.
I also have some stale english muffins, been debating a heat up in the breville oven to make up some crunchy stuff ala croutons. They just do not hold together properly so I may put some spray, butter and garlic and just break them up and bake at 375.
Laundry under way, got big washer and repaired washer on the go, have some clothes to wash so they will go in the smallest ones, easier on the clothes. The 20 dollar ones are still going strong and do work to act as an extra sink if sinks are full for soaking small stuff, no agitation. I still want a dishwasher BUT cannot justify it in any way shape or form and would probably be another thing I waste money on and not use it. Need to do less of that.

NM - I too love the Mom stories. My Mother had a debilitating, catastrophic stroke when I was 48. For the next 12 years, she lived as a total vegetable.

Bone Mets/PAIN
I apologize if there's already a thread on this topic, but I'm still having a difficult time navigating this new format. I've tried the search fields, but it's not directing me to a common thread.
Anyway, I'm having a BAD pain day. Bone mets basically everywhere in my chest cavity. RIBS especially, sacrum, etc.
I'm on OxyContin ER (I think 25mg)every 12 hours, Oxycodone as needed during the day. I woke up in excruciating pain this am. I am 3 days post chemo and it felt like every bone in my chest was inflamed and bruised. Like I was in a car accident. I got it managed after OxyC and a regular oxys. but by 2 I was so tired. Tried napping, but the ribs started hurting SO bad! I took 3 oxys (btw I have a HIGH tolerance to opiods) and its at a dull roar right now.
Besides my venting, I'm wondering how you all with bone mets manage pain. I hate to ask for an increase in dosage as I'm just at the beginning stage of this fight. What if I take too much now, and pain could get worse, if God forbid, nearing end stage nothing would help? Anyone know what I'm saying here? I'm kind of rambling, but I know you guys get it.

@brutersmom hi there, Thank you for responding to my question. I shall try the 5/2 on the 100mg. I never did give it a try before dropping to 75mg. I'll see how it works for me. Im praying its ok because I don't want to take a forced break. Especially since my last week's mammogram and Ultrasound showed a 0.5cm lesion where my original breast tumour was at diagnosis in 2020. Plus I've been getting some sharp pains from that location. I've no idea if the lesion was always there since the PET-SCANs of 2023. 2024 and April this year all had NOT Evidence of Active Disease. This cancer journey has many tough decisions.

I found the missing pants I was complaining about before, that makes me happy. It was in a pile in a box to be recycled so that is good. Taking breaks as I get stuff ready to go. I am going to toss stuff in the bin out back and maybe take two bags of garbage at a time. Then throw them down the stairs. Oh well, another about 3 hours before trash should be taken out anyway.
I am sweating my butt off here. Going to throw the bags inside down the stairs and take them out one or two at a time, still need a cane as well. Got most recycling and garbage put together. I do not want to take a rest break either. Inside is better than outside and figure that if I do it that way, it is better. Would be nice if a neighbour showed up and helped but cannot count on that for sure. After they are done, I will order some sort of food.
I did get it done, tossed all bags down and then took one or two at a time all at once, worked better for me. Damn it is hot.

Hello everyone - I turned 47 in June- I have 5 children- 12 grandchildren and have been married for over 25 years. My youngest two are both girls 21y/o & 15 y/o who still live at home - all the grands are from my older 3 sons! I Love the Lord and try my best to walk in faith daily- I fail A lot! - I was diagnosed on (4/1/25) April 1,2025 - total mastectomy on (7/7/25) July 7, 2025 - have next appointment with Oncologist tomorrow to find out what steps are next. - Original Diagnosis) Triple Positive Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Grade 2 - found out it metastasized to lymph nodes after surgery. Also was told that some pathology was contradictory to original diagnosis- following up with that tomorrow as well. As you can tell I am new to all of this and am so grateful to have found this platform!

Hi, guys! I hope I'm not too young to join? I'm 38 but I have been in love with Jesus since I was 15 when I first gave my heart to him! I have served Him full time as a church admin to a very large church for 20 years or so and now work for the Christian school...well, I'm on "furlough" until all this BC healing is fixed up.
JO--I never knew you worked in Sunday School for 40 years! WOW that is so cool!
Right now, I am seeking the Lord for His next steps for me. I will serve Him whatever way He wants. Toying with not going back to work and just ministering to people as they come up, or continuing ministering at the school...or some other route.
I dont LIKE that I got BC. I sometimes think it's not fair that this is God's plan for me, especially when all my friends are healthy and moving on with life. I feel pretty lonely when it comes to bc except for my bc.org cyber friends! But I surely know that God works it out for good, for His glorious plan, and I gave my life to Him so many years ago, so I dont have a say...my life is His life.

I would like to start a forum to meet other middle age or older women who have bc and love the Lord. Try to live your life for him, walk the walk and talk the talk. Of course we all fall from grace because we are human but we are covered by the blood of Jesus. Also this forum is for people who has a large enough vocabulary that they don't need to use profanity to explain theirselves. I will start.
