@shanagirl I can understand the fear of being off treatment for a long time, I was off Herceptin what felt like months while my brain was being addressed the first time. Had the surgery first and then had radiation after so no Herceptin at that time while brain was addressed. I was not worried about not being on Herceptin because I figured I would be dead anytime with brain mets. I can understand the worry, please know we are supporting you everyday. I am not a likely person to give this advice but whenever it feels overwhelming remember the 4 7 8 breathing to relax your body. 4 seconds inhale, 7 seconds holding breath and 8 seconds out through your mouth. The worry may still be there but should help keep your body relaxed and this can be done multiple times a day. Shorter cycles of the breathing can be done as well like 4 4 4, all have the same result.

Bellows breath which is breathing rapidly through the nose to bring in oxygen can also be helpful on a day of exhaustion to keep functioning with more energy.

Hi everyone, I’ve missed a few days here but I’ve been reading along to keep up with what’s going on, even when I feel too blah to use the keyboard, It’s easy to read along and then try to comment on anything that sticks out in your conversations. WOW, you. Guys!! It’s caught my attention about the seriousness of taking breaks from treatment especially after being stable for a long time. This is totally my issue right now. I am so nervous about being off my Verzenio and Xgeva, after being stable for for over 2 yrs since being diagnosed with MBC Stage IV. I just finished taking Amoxicellin for an infection in my upper back tooth and my oncologist and oncology dentist said the tooth needs to be extracted, so. I’ve been off the treatment for over a month so far and will have to stay off at least until they extract the tooth. I have the fear of progression suddenly happpening while off he meds😫😳. I can’t even think about the tooth extraction until I’m finished with the 8 cervical facet injections I’m having in my neck c3 c4 c5 c6 both sides of facet joints at the surgi. center on July 29. and the 2 weeks after that the radio frequency ablation appointment. Ugh this whole summer has been worrying a nightmare. I’m so sorry to be so down and complain, I know each one of you are carrying metastatic issues and consequences, but here is the only place I can rant and be totally understood. And thank you for that all of you.. It seems being mostly stable for 15 years with cancer has spoiled me, even though bone Mets was discovered after 13. yrs of NED. so now it’s like playing Russian Roulette with Mets being off meds again.. sigh..

I will never know the true story of my friend's situation- did she get her scans as scheduled or miss one and did not know the cancer was growing, did she take her meds every day (Piqray) or miss some doses, was her doctor an idiot and dropped the ball? It is too late for her. She is on hospice and her sister told me yesterday that the hospital doctor showed her the x-rays and she is "full of cancer". God help my friend. I don't want this to happen to me. Told I am stable and then wham.

I am grieving for my friend.
