Fridge is still cool as of this morning, they are scheduling a techinician to come, unsure when. May email back advising of my Herceptin appointment. Fridge looks sad after disposing of the spoiled food but that is OK, someone will check it and I will call for groceries. I think my cats somehow got the door open so perhaps the seal needs fixing.
Herceptin is Today, washing up some stuff to wear, think I will wear the pink shirt, got a couple of washers going for that. Wee washer for the new shirt, think I will go for the pink one.
No idea about food other than a frozen meat pie or two, I will have to see, all food left is in the freezer not defrosted. I can also see chicken and rice, chicken from a can of course and various dry seasoning, Option two is the chicken and rice but boil up the rice in diced tomatoes and a tsp or two of garlic powder. I will see.

@mara51506 - What a terrible experience with your fridge. I'd cry too if I had all that you had to deal with re your fridge and brother and sister-in-law absences. Sending a hug and hope all is working out, even if gradually.

@mkestrel - What beautiful pictures! Thank you for posting them. That must have been so nice to spend that time there for those few days. I can only wish. I'm also always struck by how much your area looks similar to some parts of Washington also. Just lovely.
Well I got through the liver biopsy. Everyone was very nice, but it was not particularly pleasant and I would not want to have to do it again. I hope none of you ever have to do it either; don't wish it on others any more than myself. I did feel a lot of the poking and prodding and the sedation really made me feel bummed out through the whole thing. I just kept feeling like I just didn't want to be there and why were they doing this and why were they doing that, and I thought they said it wouldn't hurt, etc. I expected pretty much what I had had with a bone biopsy over 2 years ago, but it was different and they swear they gave me the same drugs. Then I realized that the bone biopsy had been in anticipation of starting the Verzenio and Faslodex, i.e. I wasn't taking it yet. With this biopsy, I've got the Verzenio and Faslodex in my system and am wondering if that made a difference. Not in terms of a dangerous interaction, but just in the overall experience; so much more fatigued too, in addition to that real downer feeling the drugs gave me. Oh well. Actually, I don't have any real ongoing pain, just a little "day after" soreness, and there are no signs of any complications, so things went well in that regard, and I am glad for it. Many thanks to all of you who wished me well. I took your good wishes with me, and I know they helped and even though this is all "virtual", and not in person, I didn't feel nearly as alone as I would have if I didn't have everyone here.

I was able to go camping for several days. It was nice and cool up there.

Yesterday I was headed for my hair appointment when my car died. After a multi hour wait AAA came and jumped my battery. I had called my DD in a panic and she came and waited with me. We planned to go straight to her house and we’re in the left turn lane at a major Highway intersection when the car died again. By then it was rush hour. I was calling AAA back when a cruiser pulled up with lights flashing. The NICEST officer called for backup to block the highway while he pushed us to the right shoulder bus lane. Then he pushed the car up to a side road and found us a pullout spot out of traffic. He gave us two water bottles when he first pulled up and another two once we were safely off the road. It was 82 F which is a heat wave here. I’m writing a note for his boss because the whole encounter was calm, friendly and pleasant. SIL brought an emergency battery he had at the house and we were able to drive to their house. DD and SIL went to the auto supply and bought a new battery which he installed. I was able to drive home. It was a 7 hour ordeal and I was exhausted.
I have another hair appointment today and am hoping for no more adventure.

I cannot believe Caryn is gone. I met her about 14 years ago on one of these boards and we even got to meet in person in NJ. I don’t visit the boards much anymore but logged in the other day to learn she was ailing. She was an incredible, intelligent, talented woman and the world is much diminished with her passing.

Since Kaila posted on this thread (which Caryn told me to follow for updates), I will jump in to say how very, very sorry I am to read this news. Caryn & I were friends from several different threads, and met up in person for a fabulous dinner & night of laughter when a group of us from the Lets Post Our Daily Exercise thread went to San Francisco a number years ago. We were both teachers, so found we 'clicked" and had had an ongoing conversation through Private Messages throughout the years & until just a few weeks ago when she sent me a picture of Pumpkin (her beloved dog) enjoying life with the grandkids. Caryn was a smart, brave person & I feel very lucky to have known her! Rest in Power.💓

Ten years later painful lump under implant
I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction ten years ago after having stage 1 ILC. I did NOT take the prescribed Tamoxifen. Now I have a hard knot/lump that also appears to be bruising under my right implant. It is sore and sometimes throbs or feels like it’s stinging when I am just sitting still. Anyone know what this might be? Could it just be old implants that need replacing? Scar tissue? Implant leakage? I’m concerned. Should I be? Anyone have this experience?

Hi All-
This is Kaila, Caryn aka exbrnxgrl, younger daughter. I wanted to let you all know that she passed away earlier today. She got to say goodbye to all of her grandkids Sunday and then was unconscious by Monday morning. She passed away holding my sister and I’s hands. Thank you for your support for her over the years. She loved her BCO friends very much.

I read an article on protecting the back from injuries. One big NO-NO is the BLT movement. Bend, Lift and Twist. Another bit of well-known advice is to use the legs when lifting.

I like looking at the ocean, preferably from a balcony, but do not like walking in sand, sitting on sand, lying on sand. When we go walking on the beach, the tide is out and there is a strip of firm wet sand to walk on. You obviously feel differently, Cindy. Nice that you're enjoying your ocean getaway.
Today I have an UGH duty. Cleaning the carpet in the camper. There are a couple more UGH duties facing me. It's probably better to get them done in the next week or two. Meanwhile the Canadian smoke will be with us all week.
