Re: I say YES. YOU say NO....Numero Tre! Enjoy!
Note here — saying the above may be made me feel better, but it really isn't going to do anything much. Only if we can take back control can we begin the long difficult process of re-installing proper procedures in our government. While it also doesn't help much I do note that many Maga are not fairing well either and that a large score of them have enough left to be angry and upset and feel cheated.
Re: Are you having surgery in June 2025? Let's gather here to support one another!
Hello! I just had lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy on 6/17/25. I am stage 1, grade 2. Estrogen & progesterone positive; HER2 negative. Waiting for pathology results. I’m nervous because my lymph nodes were matted. Prior to surgery, they weren’t at all concerned about my lymph nodes on imaging. I understand that matting can be caused by things other than cancer. But I also know it can mean that cancer is in your nodes. Trying to be patient.
In other news, felt great to take a shower today! And went to the hair salon for a wash & dry. Nice to pamper myself and feel human again.
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
@betrayal Wow, you are brave with your knees. My DH needs his done but refuses so far. To be truthful, I can only do 13 minutes on the bike so far. I can walk longer through a store, etc., with stops etc., but they have me do the recumbent bike at PT with slight pressure. I want to walk outside, but I also am on oxygen 24/7 and that means I need to take a walker to carry the small tank if I walk outside. (They don't want me carrying it far with the mets on my spine.) I take it with me when I go out and carry it from station to station at PT. It is a pain! but it is what I have to do at this elevation. According to my MO my body is just wearing out after nine years on oral cancer meds.
Re: Just diagnosed
the hardest time for me was after being diagnosed but waiting for other test results. I felt so much better after meeting with the oncologist and surgeon and having a plan in place. It gave me a sense of control, knowing what the next several months would look like and what to expect.
Things will get easier.
Try to do things that you enjoy & take care of yourself. Be kind to you. For me, going for walks was a huge help, being outside & getting some exercise helped calm me and give me some peace.
