Re: Bone Mets Thread
Thanks for the info norah2024. Besides the lung inflammation at higher dose of Verzenio I have tolerated the treatment pretty well. I am encouraged from all of you and the other threads with different options if one protocol does not work another one will. I am encouraged also by reading different stories and from acquaintances that have had years of stability even if occasionally a protocol stops working. This encourages me so much
Re: My Husband, My Life, My Love, My Family, My Cancer
@snow-drop Sorry you're struggling with abd pain. I hope you get an answer tomorrow and relief soon. Thanks for taking the time to post, Happy Heavenly Birthday Alexa, fly high sweet gal💝
@tanya_djamila What a beautiful family picture! Longwood Gardens is a beautiful place , I haven't been there in years. Glad you all got to enjoy it together.
Well covid roaming around again, I know of several people who have it and now my son. Hoping DH and I can avoid it, fingers crossed. DH and I decided to opt out of my mil birthday brunch today. We didn't want to spread any potential virus to our family. Hope everyone had a good day today. Sending good vibes for all appointments this week.💕
Re: My Husband, My Life, My Love, My Family, My Cancer
Shana, I definitely understand the desire to skip appointments that I have and I have done so. The problem is being generic when the nurse is asking about symptoms. I usually stick to the big D in order to avoid them thinking I am having trouble. I am glad you are able to get out as well.
Cookie, you are right, that vacuum sucks up more water than I can believe. I do have draino but since I can vacuum and put water elsewhere, I can put up with the slow drain, it always clears by morning. Can use it the hose to vacuum up the cat area as well. I am happy with the purchase, looking for space to keep it.
Snow drop, I am so sorry that you are suffering abdoment pain, I am also glad you are seeing someone on Monday. In your pocket sending support. I also miss Sondra as well.
Well, yesterday when trying for McDonalds, did accidentally order Burger King, cannot say it was the best, just kind of meh, planning to use up the burger in different ways, combine beef with beefless ground, scrape buns to use as garlic bread too. Mix beef and cheese with the chipotle beans. Need to open another can of something to eat as well to combine. Oh well, will work through it. Also work on eating up and not duplicating food purchases that are not necessary.
First meal contained a bit of a Burger king cheese burger, beefless ground, green beans, cheese and the chipotle beans. I did heat up pan, sprayed with canola spray and melted some butter once heated. Dumped all ingredients, no need for chopping. Just stirred all ingrdients in and then turned off heat, covered with lid. Once cooled, put in a big bowl, add some queso, TB chipotle, steak seasoning, sour cream and onion powder, salt and lastly a good squeeze of the Great Value sour cream and lime creamy stuff. Stirred everything in. Cheese was great because it does not go down easy without being cheesy ha ha. It really was delicious and nice not to feel the need to chop.
I have been sitting around some and that is fine, did realize that the water slowly drained out of the tub on its own. That is nice to see. Still debating where to keep the shop vac. My honest opinion is just to prop it between the washers and edge of tub. If there is no need to use it, make room on top shelf of my linen closet if it will fit. I will see no rush about that.
I do hope all have a good day, in pockets for everyone who needs me.

Re: Bone Mets Thread
I’m not on Verzenio, but I’m currently taking Kisqali.
Before 2weeks,After experiencing sudden back pain, and a continuous rise in the tumor marker CA 15-3 throughout the nine months of treatment, my doctor advised me to get an MRI.
The results showed a tumor in the T9 vertebra, and the cancer had not fully cleared from the vertebra L4 that was discovered nine months ago.
My doctor’s plan is as follows:
- Undergo radiotherapy for the new T9 lesion to reduce pain and control the tumor.
- Since I’ve already done genetic testing, we are now waiting for the results.
- If mutations are found, we’ll target them with specific medications.
- If no mutations are found, a full-body PET-CT scan will be done to check whether the cancer has progressed elsewhere.
If other tumors are found, the doctor plans to switch to Enhertu treatment and stop the CDK4/6 inhibitor.
I’ve been anxious and stressed since then, waiting for the genetic test results.
I truly hope I can stay on my current treatment protocol.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
I hope this information is helpful to you and answers your question.
Re: Kisqali side effects and timing
@hippmark I'm chubby. I went to see my GP last week and she said, "Hmm, you've gained a few pounds since last year." I looked down in shame and she said, "No! THat's good!" First time in my life I could feel ok about that. Weight is so psychologically complicated in our world, isn't it? Anyway, I am wondering if a bit of exercise might increase your appetite? Like just a longish walk if you are able. If you are getting protein shakes down, maybe ice cream? I could possibly live on that myself. Hugs to you.
Re: My Husband, My Life, My Love, My Family, My Cancer
dear all. my apologies for not posting sooner, my abdomen pain getting worse and I haven’t had the energy to move around much. I will see the PA Monday, I’m not sure if the pain is a se of Xeloda or something more serious, I hope not…
Sondra’s passing has saddened me, crying almost every time I’m reminded of Sondra (Alexa).
Andreas messaged me before trip to Sondra’s parents last week. Today would have been her birthday, and they’ve planned a commemoration in her honor, he also mentioned that he would be sharing your beautiful stories and tributes with her family.
Happy Birthday to a beautiful soul. You are missed more than words can say 💔
Re: Bone Mets Thread
Has anybody had CA 15-3 and CEA jump but signatera go down? On kisqali since May. TM have never really gone down. CEA started off normal, increasing a little at a time for three months, but just went out of range for the first time. 15-3 this month jumped from 76-96, but my Signatera actually dropped from 12 to 3. Such a roller coaster ride. Was all happy about the Signatera and so was MO but then 30 minutes later, the TM came in. Ideas?
Re: Bone Mets Thread
I would like to know from those of you who were on Verzenio for bone Mets when you had progression what was the next medication you were put on.
