@livinglifenow , @eddiej , @AJ , @tougholdcrow Hey ladies I went to my doctors appointment yesterday and she said my PET scan was ok and didn’t show any progression from the last one.. So she said I’m stable and that at the moment they would shelf the idea of surgery for right now and now I go every 8 weeks to see her or nurse practitioner and get my Xgeva shot and PET scan every 4 months. I’m thrilled and relieved. I hope everyone is doing ok. I’m always praying for everyone on here.❤️

I get my scans every 3 months and my Xgevaa shot was switched to every 3 months too after this recent positive scan. Sort of same protocol… we are not alone 🤗

Had my post scans follow-up with MO today. Still stable although I have mild pneumonitis (symptom free except when I first wake up) and a small lesion in kidney. Since I only have one kidney, my internist has referred me to urology. MO wants to keep me on Ibrance and anastrozole and monitor. She did order an MRI of lower lumbar area since I have increased pain. She suspects nerve impingement since bone scan is stable. She hopes the MRI will help my pain management doc with treatment recommendations. I was kind of surprised that she didn’t have me hold my Ibrance for an additional week as my WBC was 2 and my ANC was .96. No wonder I’m pooped.

We're so sorry you’re going through this — the waiting and uncertainty are truly the hardest part. We understand that here! A BI-RADS 4 means they just need a closer look; many turn out benign, especially with dense breasts. You’re absolutely doing the right thing by following up and advocating for yourself. Although it's more than understandable to worry, we encourage you to try to reduce the emotional stress however you can until you get the facts.
Try to hang on until your ultrasound — you’re not alone in this. We’re here for you, and we hope you get clear answers and peace of mind soon. Sending love and strength to you and your husband. 💕

Just want to thank you all for speaking of your experiences with drug Verzenio.
Right now, I'm on anastrozole only (recently dx'd malignant pleural effusion). But have finished heart and blood work-ups and am due to visit the onc office next week to determine if they want me on this medication or not.
I'm really, really, scared about the drugs because throughout my life I've been so allergic, and chemically reactive to stuff. Then add onto that, being in my early 70s what's that going to cause?

DCIS Stage 0 High Grade HR+
Hello to all you brave women!!
I just joined this site and am making my first post. I am hoping for guidance and advice and what anyone else has done as I am feeling anxiety and some stress about what to do.
I am 55 years old and was diagnosed in June at 54 years. (I just had a birthday in Oct)
As in my title I was diagnosed with DCIS Stage 0 High Grade (Grade 3) HR+
I had a lumpectomy in the left breast, no lymph nodes, and am now awaiting to start 9 rounds of radiation. 5 in the whole breast and 4 at one particular area. Margins were clear, however one side of the margin was only a 1mm clearance so that spot is the one that is getting the extra 4 rounds.
I don’t know if I should start Tamoxifen. My MO did not seem overly concerned about me taking it and left the decision up to me.
I am waiting to see if I qualify for genetic testing.
I should add that my sister who is 62 is Stage 4. Breast initially and now her bones. She did not do radiation or Tamoxifen. Her recurrence came after 12 years and is now on Chemo and is doing very well.
Did anyone opt to not take Tamoxifen or an AI that is similar to me? I’ve had the lumpectomy and am doing the radiation. IF this were to come back as another DCIS, I’ll be honest, I am fine with another surgery.
My concern is with all the possible side effects.
