I know this is older, but I am just curious what you decided on. My mom is also going between Paxman and Penguin. She meets with her oncologist to determine treatment but was wondering your experience! Thank you!

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer and so quickly! We're in the new stages of everything and I love to hear a variety of perspectives. I like the ease of Paxman, but don't know if the additional time wearing could be more beneficial. I know it can be a gamble since every person is different! @mkestrel thanks for getting back to me about Palliative Radiation for one Mets pain. Yes I have multiple scattered bone Mets all over. But they haven’t caused pain enough to affect my mobility.,, I t began early January of this year. I was unable to walk without pain in my in my hip and groin and sacral area.. I’ve always been a fast walker doing 2 miles a day with DH and the dogs. I’ve missed that so much. Even when I had my knee replacements I was back walking moderately those miles and at first with a cane☺️… I hope the Rads work, so I can at least get down to Florida to see my Grand Daughter and her 2 beautiful baby boys My great grand sons, 15 months & 2 yrs old. I go got my next radiation appointment… @mkestrel I am so sorry you are dealing with progression. I will be sending out breath prayers your way, and please know I am in your pocket🩵

@mara51506 , Yes my oncologist saw the new bone met on my CT and Is sending me to his oncology Radiologist. they thought it would be easier for me and DH to have it done in JFK hospital in Edison which is much closer to us coming from down the shore, we are only 45 minutes from JFK. instead of having to go every day up to Hackensack UMC which is a 1 1/2 hour drive, so I’m grateful his RO spends time between the 2 Hospitals during the week.

@cookie54 Good news on the results of your CT. Yay! My CT on Tuesday showed nothing new and my liver tumors were improving. So good news for us both this week!
It looks like snow will be creeping in on Thursday for us. Of all days! My DH has a tricky prostate procedure scheduled early in the morning and my DD has to take him on her way to trauma training which means I need to drive the DGD to the bus stop. I have only driven twice in the past three years but it is time I started driving again. No real reason, just my DH wants to take me everywhere since I am on oxygen 24/7. I have been missing my independence!

@irishlove Ugh it's beyond annoying to lose a post. I know for me I' not the fastest typer, sometimes I talk text on my phone. Oh I hear ya, it's so hard to part with those family keepsake items. Good luck with your new wheels!

Hi everyone,
I’ve decided to go into the hospital to start greasing the wheels for hospice. The PA in the infusion center (after a crazy day ) gave it to me straighter than Dr G. I asked her when I should tell my dad to come out and she said she didn’t have an exact time but once the envephoscy started I wouldn’t be able to have quality time together so in other words : soon.
Yesterday, getting me in and out of my chair was difficult and dangerous, so we called 911 to get me here. I’ll leave once home hospice is ready.
I can’t express my thanks enough and I wish I’d had the wherewithal to continue further but it was too difficult to get me around and emotionally handle the physical deterioration.
Thank you to all here but especially cureious and Esther. Your knowledge and fight are so inspiring. I can’t thank you enough
I wish all of you the health and happiness in the world and that you are all around to witness the cure. It’ll be here one day.

Re: Time to replace implants
My friend in Italy has had her silicone implants for 20 years, and her doctor advised her to keep them since they seem to be holding well. My plastic surgeon in Boston told me that I can keep my silicone implants until there's a rupture or any other problem. I suggest you get a second opinion before deciding on surgery.

@norah2024 227 is quite high and I can see why your MO is worried. It does suggest that something is going on. The question is what, and yeah that is scary. I hope you get answers very soon and, if necessary, have a treatment change that works. There are lots of options these days.
Really sorry you've had to go through all that, @irishlove , and hope you are well on your way to recovery. And the family crisis can't help!
My c15-3 tumor markers have been in the 20s for a very long time now. I think other things can cause them to rise a bit or fluctuate, but a big jump is truly worrisome.
