July has turned into a scan marathon. Brain MRI on 7/3 and Pet/CT scan on 7/5. The bone met in my skull has gotten a little bigger for the 3rd MRI in a row. Pet Scan shows no other activity except for this lesion too. Saw the RO last week and will start Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). I understand that it is what is used to treat oligometastatic disease. Mask has been made and will start treatments on Monday for 5 sessions.
Glad to be doing it and elimainating that one stubborn lesion. Hope I will go back to NED after this!

I'm on my beach vacations so have watched as little news as possible. Harris would have to get it, if she wants it. All the Biden/Harris pac money is hers to command. Plus the powerful black women base would rightfully be very mad if she were passed over. Back to 'beach stuff' for me!

Hi all!
I am 2 weeks post surgery. I had a skin sparing double mastectomy with diep flap reconstruction. It was a 10hr surgery with 2 days in ICU then one night on the regular floor prior to discharge. Everything went well and I am on the mend. No issues with pain- being managed with regular Motrin and Tylenol. I am definitely surprised by how little discomfort I am experiencing. I was discharged home with 6 drains- 2 in each “breast” and one on each side of my abdomen. I have used my recliner for sleeping since I don’t trust getting in and out the bed( I have the prop pillows but the leg swing thing hurts like hell with the lower drains). One thing they didn’t tell me… getting to the bathroom in time to pee- it’s a complete no go! So I am wearing the incontinence panties until I can move faster. Because of the diep flap, which was taken from my stomach, walking is hunched over and extremely slow, but no pain. I am straightening up more each day and the speed is improving, but not enough to make a bathroom run. I am in a binder for the next 6 weeks (around the abdomen)- so far not too much of an issue except some rubbing last week on the drains. I had my post op appointment last week and the pathology report found more invasive cells than noted prior to surgery so I am had a sentinel node biopsy this morning to remove nodes to make sure there has been no spread( a mag trace was done at the time of initial surgery in the event the pathology had this result). I had the drains removed today as well. So far, I am satisfied with how the new “breasts” look. Still have to get nips later on when they are healed if I want them(or I can opt for 3d tattoes). Overall, my experience has been better than I could have imagined. I am super grateful to all the responses that I received here in making this decision. Soo much information is thrown at you at once that it seems overly overwhelming. As I sit here 2 weeks post surgery, with no pain, limited mobility but being able to see/feel my body get stronger daily, I am humbled by this experience and thankful I was able to make the best decision that I felt in my gut would be right for me. @Tillyrose, as you take in everything, listen/feel what resonates with you the most as you choose your path. Once you are clear on what YOU want or need at the end of this journey, it becomes easier to make what seems like an impossible choice at times. Friends and family mean well, but I have learned (with help of my therapist) that I was not responsible for making them feel “safe” during this time when what I needed to be doing is making ME feel “safe” again. I pray good health, sending you love, a virtual hand to hold, and a sense of peace during this journey for you.

Starting cycle 100 today! Feeling grateful. My last scan showed something suspicious but the radiologist also referred to a lumpectomy that I never had so I hope she was wrong. Scanning again in a few weeks so I'll find out if there has been progression. In the meantime, working on next Sunday's sermon and working a Journey concert tonight. Life is good.

Cookie, I'm imagining the smell of wet dog in the summer, which is a smell I love. (Wet dog in the winter, not so much, lol)

Sunshine, I hear you about feeling tired of this. It's exhausting. Really hoping your MO appt gives you good options.
I've gone ahead and arranged to have the upstairs of my house, where I do most of my living, repainted. It will require packing up all my books and taking all my artwork off the walls, but I will have help moving/lifting! I'll actually just be directing the helpers, so I can stand around giving instructions and sipping tea like a rich lady, lolol. I'm looking forward to fresh clean blank slate walls that I can start over with.

@gailmary I’m curious about death too. I’m not at all religious and I think our brain shows us what we want or need to ease the transition, which, if true, is very cool. I hope it’s a reunion with all my beloved dogs, then lights out. The ability to hang around a bit or haunt people would be a bonus but I’m not expecting that.

Stage IV since 2015. Just stopping by to add myself, still, as one of those who is 5+.
Done many treatments, but just started Enhertu this week. At 47, I am still working and doing my best to walk 4 miles a day.

Enjoying the memes, but I do not agree that Democratic rhetoric is what put a target on Drumph's back. Steve Bannon, Alex Jones, the proud boys, neo-fascists, white supremacists, X-ian nationalists, and all their ilk have been saber rattling for years - calling for blood and happily waving guns in the air. They have been well documented standing armed outside of polling places. Saying that a second Drumph presidency is a threat to democracy is not a threat for violence. Saying that the next election will be nonviolent if the left "allows it to be" is a threat, especially in light of who has already demonstrated a proclivity toward violence. (Hint: it's not the progressives.)
