Dinner last night was mushroom stroganoff with egg noodles and a side of sauteed fresh spinach. A good combo.
On the federal tax return, I ended up buying a Turbo Tax download because of one tax complication. We neglected to make a required withdrawal from dh's IRA funds, so have to file a form requesting waiver of the tax penalty. Last year I used a free tax software recommended by the IRS. I used Turbo Tax in previous years, so my email address was attached to that former account. I couldn't remember the old password and went through an ordeal establishing my identity. I ended up taking a photo of the front and back of my driver's license and doing face ID before eventually creating a new password. It's good that Turbo Tax is so protective of old tax information, but I did get exasperated.
Surprisingly, Louisiana has user-friendly income tax filing software online, so I use it. Therefore, I'm in for numerous refusals of Turbo Tax's insistence on filing my state return.
When I made turkey meatloaf some years ago, the recipe called for a lot of ground up mushrooms. I would think vegetarian meatloaf would have mushrooms, plus other vegetables like onion and maybe beans and carrots.
Dinner will probably be eggplant dish similar to lasagna.

Minus, I saw a recipe that added nutritional yeast and some grated parmesan to egg salad with dill. I don't know how it would taste but it would add more protein to what you can currently eat. That flu really knocks you about.
Wally, More hugs for you. I've dealt with palliative care for me and hospice for my mom. While both are something everyone wants to avoid they helped with navigating difficult circumstances. I hope that’s the case for you and your DH.
Rhonda, My sister makes a good vegan meatloaf using mushrooms, chickpeas and other things. It has a hoisin sauce and ketchup glaze. I’ll have to ask her for more details.
Carole, I’m disappointed they discontinued the IRS Direct File this year due to lobbying by tax prep firms. When we permanently moved back to the US DH had mixed US/English income, mine was Scottish, and all the tax years began and ended on different dates. An accountant wanted a ridiculous sum to do our taxes so I just told myself I was earning that money for my research work.
Special, It’s great that your DS had a relaxing anniversary trip and that he can do his UVB treatments at home on his schedule. I sympathize with your DD.; vet bills are worse than doctor bills. It’s good that she wasn’t injured. All that genetic testing will help you and your family know what to watch out for. I’ve never had any done but have so many surveillance scans now that I figure they’ll find anything wrong before it gets too bad.
Dinner tonight was moussaka made with ground lamb. There were more pans than usual to wash but it was worth it.

I broke down, still irritated with the lack of room in my kitchen. People IRL and at another chat-site suggested moving the microwave out. I had just the right place for it. Found a microwave cart at Amazon. They had a return for ten dollars less. I bought it, knowing that there would be a risk. Got it today. Opened it up. No directions. A screw in catterwompus and the metal receptacle for the screw torn loose from a piece of wood. A bit of Elmer and a squirt of WD40 took care of that. Assembled, easy-peasy. Microwave on top, silverware on first shelf, and bread machine on the bottom with plenty of room for loading and unloading. Satisfaction.
Then I opened up the other box. Freezer containers. I am sure I ordered what I ordered before. One compartment. No, these were three. Will have to send it back. How do you figure it: a gamble works out, and a sure thing doesn't?
A friend (I think that is him) made the news. Yes, I am about sure it is him, because that is how he does things. Giggling. Will be interesting.

Well, slept decently, in bed too late, need to start scaling back as there are a couple of cancer appointments coming up. I imagine Herceptin will be a longer appointment so may give 4 hours initially between Paratransit. I will need to get a loading dose and wait for an hour or so, I will see what I think. May buy some snacks to have and definitely ask for cheese.
Got laundry started, regular dish cloths first, get those spun out and in dryer then floors, quick sweep mop etc. Put together garbage and take out to my bin just outside til it can go over to the garbage next garbage day. Cat litter garbage also needs to be changed and disposed of as well as kitchen garbage to go out. Recycle is collected in house so that is easy to manage
Not sure about food, ate up all Mcdonalds, not buying anymore skip the dishes food delivery because one meal like a burger meal, breakfast meal or anything else costs about 1/2 of what I spend on groceries which gives me many more meals. I also have the lifeline alert service that I pay for now which is a big chunk out of my bills. Meal may be good but not worth the price.
I am probably going to do something with my frozen beef burger done up yesterday, I used some of it yesterday in a beef and macaroni meal then decided to have a burrito meal with the burger meat. Could also do some air fryer hashbrown and eggs. Realized that I have little egg shapers so that if I preheated the air fryer, can put a cracked egg inside the holder and do a fancy egg mcmuffin type dish or toast the muffins and eggs together in the air fryer, so much in my head. Will post later if something good happens mealwise. If no post, likely will create my own queso type meal out of white rice, chicken or beef and bean, lots of options to consider.

This is actually the first time I've been back for years, and I felt compelled to respond to this because I was stage 3A, also.
I had bilateral breast cancer, 2.5 cm tumor in the right breast, 6.5 cm tumor in the left breast with 9 positive lymph nodes. I was on the dose dense regimen for AC and Taxol. I did 6 1/2 weeks of radiation. I'm still alive 14 years later.
I started knitting when I started chemotherapy, because I needed something to distract me and stop me from obsessing about everything. For me, it was the perfect thing. I could do it for hours if need be. And, I made friends with a woman I saw every time I was in for chemotherapy, and we'd always sit and talk while knitting. Think of something you love doing and do more of it right now. It helps.

CMRE- sorry haven’t been around for awhile but I did all that you did with my lung nodule. My pet scan showed 2.7 and I wanted it biopsy and it was benign lung tissue. I had another ct a year later and nothing changed. So now onco doesn’t want to scan it again but I think I will bring it up again in a year. Hope your biopsy goes well mine was hard but glad I did it.
