Re: I am grateful
Pets are such comfort sometimes. We have a bird feeder right our front window on the ground outside and love to look at it. We live in a bi-level house so we are up a level and almost to the leaves on the tree and look down on it. We have had such a variety this year including these tiny little things we have never seen before. We have suit feeder next to the seed feeder with two perches and we will often have 6 little ones on the suit and 2 larger ones on the seed out there at the same time. It happens a few times a day which we call 'feeding time' for breakfast and afternoon snack and then dinner time. We can see them fly out of the tree down there so get up to look out the window and not spook them. So fun. We call it the wildlife show here. there is also the piggy squirrel that hangs out under the feeder to get what the birds knock out. Not our own pets which is a short haired Aussie and so sweet. Our doggie not only gives us loving but is a lover dog for everyone who may come to visit as well.
Re: I am grateful
For passing my screening this week and got the official notification stable and ok to wait for another year before going again! We were worried when called into the consult room afterward it was not good news. Such a relief though.
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
I swear I posted and see nothing. Nothing from anyone!
We’ve had nice sunny days with cool nights. Pool closing is tomorrow. Even though next week it’s in the 80’s.
A close friends mom passed away today. We’ll have a wake to attend next week, and we leave on Thursday for DC.
On a weird note, today is 40 days since the fire took out the fences (theirs/mine) and the side of my garage. As I was getting dressed to meet a gf for lunch my Ring doorbell went off. I only had a robe on, but doubled it over and thought it would be the postman or Amazon. I peeked out and saw my neighbor who started the fire. Needless to say I didn’t go to the door. I couldn’t imagine at 40 days later it would be an apology, and really couldn’t imagine what else he’d have to say. I finished getting dressed, and left for lunch.
Have a great weekend!

Re: Second time around questions
Bit of a different profile, but I am nine years out from my recurrence and I am just here to tell you hang in there and I am cheering you on. I had had a double mastectomy too, and spent far too much time calculating my risks. I encourage you to go with the treatment that gives you the best chance at the best outcome, but not to spend your time on "what ifs."
Having said that: absolutely, get the second opinion, because being comfortable with your treatment plan and your doctor means everything for your peace of mind. The second opinion may be different than the first (mine was), but air them thoroughly with both doctors and you will know what feels right to you. If they are the same, you have a plan.
All the best to you. You've got this.
Yuuki
