Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Betrayal, nice picture of the deer, but seeing the snow confirms I don’t miss it. I’m glad your DB is getting to your painting project. Cat prints could become the new style, you could be ahead of the curve.
Intolight, my niece in upstate NY had her bill for heating/gas & lights more than double in cost. We’re heating an empty house on a budget plan - set amount every month.
Carole, I use the brush/hairdryer and love it. I actually bought a 2nd one on sale because I thought the first one was dying. It hasn’t died, and now I take 2 from NY to FL, and vise versa. I know, I’m boarderline crazy. But you know if I leave it behind, the first one will die.
Petite, I’m happy for you at your NC cabin. I can hear the joy in your words.
Canarycat, another play will keep you busy. I’ll look forward to photos.
Harley, I haven’t watched as much of the Olympics as I’d like. I’ve missed most of the skating.
Wednesdsy I was hanging in the garage catching up on newspapers - comics, and all the different puzzles, when I heard “click click click” …I looked up to see an armadillo walking in my driveway past my open garage door. It dove into my front bushes, and came out on my neighbors driveway. I just looked, I deleted all the pictures. It was still sunny out as it went along my neighbors house, to behind another house - digging up the lawns looking for food/grubs I’d guess. Crazy to see it up so close in daylight.
Wednesday evening we went to a friend’s for sunset viewing on the river, with apps and drinks. Totally enjoyed ourselves, and didn’t get home until the 11pm new was starting.
Tonight we went to Naples for a fund raiser. Delicious food as well as open bar (I drank lemonade), and great desserts too. On our way home we ran into Sam’s club. Well it turns out they locked the doors soon after we got in. We thought open until 9, but it was 8. I think in 10 minutes we spent $50.
Tomorrow we’re picking up my niece and her daughter from the airport. Upstate NY is killing them with horrific temperatures so with the school mid winter recess, they beat feet to get down here for an unplanned thaw out. Should be a fun visit.
I hope you all get a thaw out. Or a hot cup’a something to warm your bones. ❤️

Canarycat - good to ‘see’ you. I’m also watching the Olympics. Piper and Paul had a wonderful skate so I was happy to see them win a medal. I loved Piper’s skating costume. Personally I thought the U.S. should have taken the gold but the French skaters were very artistic and graceful.
betrayal - glad your painting is getting done so you can move onto the next project.
Cindy - I love that you go to the music fests. It’s a bit cold here to do that. It’s in the high 30s and a bit of sun today so I’ll go out for a walk later.
Intolight - the knitted dolls are adorable.
Carole - we are also working on jigsaw puzzles. We’ve completed six small 4”x6” puzzles and are now moving onto a 1000 piece puzzle. The small puzzles are quick but those pieces are so tiny I need to wear my reading glasses.
Taco - thank you for the suggestion of looking into a craft store for crocheting lessons.
Waving ‘hi’ to all.
Re: Calling all TNs
@gailmary, you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time. 💛
It makes sense to start with a DEXA and talk things through with your endocrinologist — especially if bisphosphonates aren’t an option for you. There are other approaches, so hopefully you’ll get some clarity and a plan that feels doable. And give yourself credit for the exercise you’ve managed — especially with everything you’ve been through.
I’m also glad to hear there’s been no progression with your ER+ cancer. That’s really good news. As for TNBC follow-up, it’s definitely worth asking your oncologist what their scanning plan is in your specific situation — practices can vary, and you deserve to feel clear about it.
And @justsnapd8 — pneumonitis and hospital-acquired pneumonia? That’s a lot. I’m really glad you’re on the other side of that now.
Thinking of you All. 💕
