Re: Ibrance (Palbociclib)
Hi all, I had my Cataract and corrective eye surgery last Wednesday but the blurr that covers your eye thereafter has been quite massive. Mercifully its clearing up nicely. Every morning I wake up and I can see better than yesterday. Today I realised I can read motor vehicle number plates from a distance, something I haven't done since waaay back, I think 1989 when I realised my eyesight was bad. Now I don't have to wait for the Uber to drive right up to me so I can peer inside, squinting like a proper grandma, to ask "Are you here for Rose?" I'm really pleased and praying/looking forward to my new world.
This picture is me in the operating theatre. The Opthamologist, who is my high school alumni and friend to date, gives her patients a cuddly toy to hug during surgery. It helped coz although you cannot see it in the picture, I was hugging the little guy really tight, close to my stomach/chest, underneath the blanket. Especially when I felt the pressure during the procedure.
Now I just have to get round to the knee replacement sltho the knee pain has eased up since I went back to taking the loratadine every night. When I stop the oain returns.
@brutersmom are you still doing Ibrance 2 weeks on/2 weeks off ?? I'm trying 2 weeks on/1week off coz I kept feeling some activity in my armpit and LHS breast (original site of tumour). That got me worried voz I read that the ibrance has a 7 day half life. This is me spending my time worrying right 🥴🤭 .

@bailey.boo Damn, sounds like a crap day for sure 😔😩Tell your hubby to get over it! Like you need to deal with his shit in the middle of yours?! Men can be so selfish and childish. You’re dealing with a life or death illness, major surgeries, scary choices and horrible side effects…. He should just say “whatever you want to do honey, I’ll support you!” 😤 Sorry if that sounds harsh, but we’re dealing with our own crap here and don’t have the energy to worry about how anyone else feels. I think I’m going through the anger stage of grieving right now 😂!
I hope your doctor was just having a bad day and that she is able to get you in sooner for your surgery. Also, it doesn’t hurt to ask around for other recommendations. Maybe there is another doctor out there who would be a better fit? Sending you support and hugs 🥰 🤗

@bailey.boo Wow, what a letdown that surgeon was. I don't like the fact that she's out if something goes wrong. Maybe refer back to the community for their thoughts on her personally? I agree with what @Love4All said, and I'm thankful I don't have a hubby to have to pet while I'm going through this. My sister might be a little pain 😂, but she always puts me first and sees that I get what I need.

Good morning everyone, I'm trying to be grateful that my house is being painted...am sequestered in the downstairs bedroom/bath with the workers having taped plastic over the kitchen cupboards and fridge (so they can paint the ceiling). Am going to have to go out for some tea. I'm such a homebody, I don't like my home all disrupted! But it will be great when done, just want it done NOW.
Still having some diarrhea, my MO thinks it's likely the Ibrance, even though I haven't had this much diarrhea in over three years that I've been on it. Guess it's possible that side effects can change over time? I don't have other symptoms that would concern her. Thank goodness for imodium.
Went to Paris once when I was 18, had no money, stayed in a youth hostel, and remember being impressed that breakfast was a huge mug of hot cocoa, fresh bread and butter with jam.

I never been interested in Paris, I prefer the beach and a tropical drink.

Long day and I've filled this up with memes all day anyway. VP Harris really has it going on — and I just read she definitely stole the Reps/Trump trying to put the border mess on us, right back on them. Wonderful push back and I think since she has just about everyone's attention right now — the more push back on what the other side is saying and doing the better. And who better with a prosecutor's outlook on things that are VERY wrong. Give the other side their load right back in spades. Give it back to the people it belongs too.
People are paying attention — lots of it. I think for now the Reps. still don't quite know what to do. How to make her wrong, incompetent etc. It will come at some point, but I'm thinking and hoping that it will be too late to do all that much damage.
Perhaps, while scaring a bunch of us A LOT, getting something of a fairly late start out of the gate might be just what was needed for the momentum to keep the worst dirt from having a deeply serious impact.
Tomorrow's news about Atlanta and tonight should be delicious and delightful with our morning coffee.
Re: Just diagnosed with ILC mets
ok. After multiple tests I have mets to my bones, liver, stomach and possibly peritoneum. More than I thought at the beginning of this journey. Interestingly enough my bone scan as well as my FDG PET states no bone mets, but my Chest/ Abdomen/Pelvis CT shows mets all over my skeleton. I know with LBC it’s a problem. Starting Letrozole today with Ribociclib in a week or so (upon processing through my insurance and specialty pharmacy).
