Otter, welcome back—so sorry about that new dx, though given its type and your age it's probably a lot less aggressive than the first one. Fingers crossed.
I'm grateful that on Saturday we have a noon call for a 2pm matinee—the weather will be less problematic and it'll be easier to get a good city garage parking space. The garage will likely fill up as game time nears—and rideshares will be scarcer and surge-priced. Bob will take the L—Red Line to Jackson, walk 3.5 blocks or Brown Line to State/VanBuren, walk 2.5 miles. In the snow, alas. The theater has wi-fi, so people will be watching the game on their phones at intermission, rather than buying drinks. He'll ride home with me after the cast party down the street.

I roasted the chicken thighs in the toaster oven. In addition to s & p, onion and garlic powder, I seasoned them with mild paprika I bought on our Viking river cruise. After I had prepared them to cook, it occurred to me that I use the toaster oven to roast asparagus. I had to heat the big oven, which was ok. It was cool enough last night that we didn't have to use the a/c. Dinner was very tasty. I know I have said multiple times that I love roasted chicken.
I have a hearing test at Costco this afternoon, so I plan to buy a rotisserie chicken to make chicken salad for lunches. I'll also look for the Rao's eggplant.
I need to use ripe avocados, which leads to thoughts of guacamole, which leads to thoughts of fajitas. LOL. We also have colored peppers and onions and a package of thin ribeye. Fajitas for dinner. Easy is a plus.

Sandy - wishing you the best with the show. I believe the showbiz term is ‘break a leg’ but given how your life has been recently I’m a bit reluctant to wish that on you.
Our washer has been making a loud noise during the spin cycle since November so we had a service guy out on Tuesday. It will cost more to repair than to replace. It still works but he suggested replacing it sooner rather than later. So we made a trip to Abt Electronics and purchased a new washer and dryer. The current set is 10 yrs old and I figured if we only replaced the washer then the dryer would break in the next few months. Delivery is end of next week. Fingers crossed the washer hangs on until then.
My weather forecast is the same as Sandy’s. We have plans to see friends in Wisconsin on Saturday evening but that is weather dependent.
Thinking of those who are dealing with health and life challenges.

@irishlove When I lose a post, I quickly hit 'control Z' and it comes back. Does that work for you? I think these posts are ultra-sensitive.
We got a light dusting of snow early this morning, finally. We really need it. There is more on the way for today, then we are dry for a while again. The ski resorts are hurting and the plains are burning so Colorado is having its turn with the weather. My sister had a tornado this morning in Shawnee so it could be worse.

Surgery went well. Only issue was a sore pressure point but am able to adjust the bed and turn my head to remove pressure. Comes out tomorrow. Not sure when to come out of hospital.

Hi ladies it's been a while since I posted here but read along! Agree with @denny123 I truly believe it's like many other things moderation. I also loved all my dark green salads and veggies but now eat moderately because I noticed a difference in my HFS. I also think it's individual so the best thing is to experiment with it and observe how your body reacts. @threetree I wish you a nice long run with Xeloda with minimal if any side effects!

Going to try to get outside today to take down Christmas decor and hopefully walk. I 've had this discomfort in my lower pelvis the last week, hoping it's nothing. Onc visit next Thursday anyhow so hopefully it's gone by then.Been gathering things for my daughter's bridal shower in early March. The theme is love and spring "Love is in Bloom" and my DH is building a flower cart. It will have buckets of flowers so guests will take a bouquet home with them. So need my cancer to cooperate and enjoy happy times ahead, fingers crossed!

I think I typed in everyone's name that has been on this thread lately. Just wanted to acknowledge how difficult it's been for each of you in this never ending fight against this wicked disease. The flu this year has been reported to be the worse in many years. The thinking we struggle to get threw it and the consequences are an even more weakened system, makes sense to me. Since the middle of Oct. I haven't been well. This feeling in my body reminds me of mononucleosis, from those younger days. We are staying home and when we go out, we wear a mask. Frankly I don't have the stamina to shop. A warm pair of slippers and a recliner works for me. Just call me Mrs. Kravitz, as I survey the neighborhood from my window.
@mara51506 Mara, I hope you can feel all the love this group has been sending your way. It would be so wonderful for you to share a receipe again. And to hear what the kitties are doing. I hope your family is keeping you company during this difficult time. Love you to pieces. @goldensrbest So very happy they cut you loose from the hospital. Too many sick people their, makes sense to send you home.
