Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Wow - that tilt-a-whirl is really something. Great pic.
Petite, so glad you are getting the help you need. Maybe KeyWestern will chime in on some things to do/see.
Not sure I'm going to make my surgery date. Am having lots of problems with my primary and getting a clearance. Not that I'm not fine - they just keep screwing up on the paperwork. I'm going to have to sit at the lab tomorrow until I get in because they didn't write the order when they did the one for the chest X-ray.
Hot, hot, hot here but no rain.
Be safe everyone.
Re: I say YES. YOU say NO....Numero Tre! Enjoy!
I took a break and see nothing wrong with doing so, but I also, totally agree with what everyone said in these posts!
Ex, you state exactly how I feel! I agree, I too feel I am not a pessimist, I am a realist! We all learned from breast cancer that a positive attitude goes a long way, however a “Pollyanna” attitude is better left to the movies.
This election is like no other and it can feel depressing at times. It’s unrealistic to think our founding fathers weren’t afraid, depressed, and doubtful sometimes as they plotted to create our country.
Feeling depressed, afraid, angry over the political climate created by the Republicans does not mean any of us are giving up! We will all vote Blue!
Remember it is all about the Republicans now because of their Convention. There will be a surge for a week or two before the “air clears” a bit. Thankfully the Democratic Convention is yet to come!
I do have concerns because I don’t trust the Republicans (or Russian influence) and I expect them to bring up legal issues and try to prevent the Democrats from allowing Biden to step down and Harris to take his place at the top of the ticket!
They know Trumps violent tendencies rubbed a lot of their party members the wrong way and they will try to push the “Trump really changed from the attempted assassination,” scenario but as they say, a leopard doesn’t change its spots!
On the upside, Harris events are gaining a lot of support from wealthy donors and some events will be sold out soon!
Thank you all for sharing your feelings! This is a great group and I appreciate all of your thoughts!

”We can really pound Trump on his advanced age and potential dementia. Plus, we put thd focus back on project 2025.” -trishyla
Thank you. That’s the most cogent argument I’ve seen for a replacement. I still can’t fathom who that would be.
Re: I say YES. YOU say NO....Numero Tre! Enjoy!
Just imagine the excitement if we Democrats have an open convention. This country hasn't had one of those in over a generation. The buzz over who will be nominated would keep millions of viewers tuned in to every single moment of the convention. They would then hear firsthand (with no filters or "interpretation" by corporate media) the vision Democrats have for this nation.
We could easily set up an online system where Democratic voters tell their delegates who to nominate. The roll call of the states would be exciting as hell! We, the voters, would know our nominee before the end of the convention, but the nominees would likely have a pretty good inkling as to the outcome beforehand.
I was in television advertising for many years. You need to create excitement around your "product". Imagine a commercial with the tagline "Trump/Vance are what America's past looked like. Harris/Buttegieg (or Newsom /Whitmer, or Buttegieg/Pritikan) are what America's future looks like".
That kind of a campaign would bring all those Obama voters back to our party. Plus all those young people who really do want to vote for Democratic ideas, but call Biden "Genocide Joe". Plus, there's the added benefit of a much shorter window for Republicans to attack our nominees. Win/win/win/win!
Re: My Chemotherapy Journey
Since you are interested in cannabis , here is a link to a thread about its use. It’s not a very active thread but contains a lot of good info and personal experiences with cannabis use and treating bc side effects. I don’t know why the link takes you to p.5, but you can scroll back to p.1
Re: I say YES. YOU say NO....Numero Tre! Enjoy!
I'm on my beach vacations so have watched as little news as possible. Harris would have to get it, if she wants it. All the Biden/Harris pac money is hers to command. Plus the powerful black women base would rightfully be very mad if she were passed over. Back to 'beach stuff' for me!
Re: List of what to do/get/pack to prep for Radiation Therapy
I'm halfway through. I go first thing in the am. I use R1 immediately after RAD and then R2 60mg every 3-4 hours. No one told me to apply to my back and I'm badly burnt. So now applyingR2 to back as well as a mix of a queues cream with Betnovate( cortisone). I use Taurine in my water 4 x a day. Radiation depletes the body of Taurine, and this is what results I in fatigue. I work full time and dont suffer from fatigue at al

I live in PA and very familiar with Newsom but I think Illinois Gov. Pritzker might be a better choice.
Re: Psychological reactions to aromatase inhibitors.
This has really helped. I also got little help with my SE.. I will now go and really push for a change to a name brand. I even mentioned that I had to take a name brand Thyroid med. years ago for this same reason. You have told me that there is hope. Thank You.
