Re: So...whats for dinner?
I used to cut my own hair in my 20's. It was always long so I was only cutting some inches off the end. I also cut hair for my DH and my son. Most of the remaining years I kept it at shoulder length. But now…. other than evening the ends, I haven't cut my hair since Covid so it's down my back well past my bra line. Being lazy, I usually wear it in a pony tail.
Dinner was salmon steak poached in white wine with dill. Served with broccoli and Seeds of Change quinoa & brown rice. To top it off, I used my coupon to pick up my free buntlette from Nothing Bundt Cakes, so I ate 1/2 of that White Chocolate Raspberry delight. I recommend this 'bakery' highly if there's one near you. Or even if you have to drive an hour.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Carole, I'm glad you got a good margarita and the nachos were tasty. Now you know what to order if you have to return there.
Minus, We have a circulator pump on the hot water heater that provides hot water quickly without running the tap. Good idea to start using up what is in your freezer.
Wally, Sorry you are missing fishing season but I’ve found that as you get older things happen that interfere with your plans.
Dinner tonight was meatballs in Rao’s on spaghetti.

WOW congratulations dear @yatcomw ! I am really happy for you and hope many women will get to that point. I am still only 3 years ,
Can you share did you do any special life style or diet? Maybe vitamins or supplements?
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
2/3 of my windows are covered with plastic film which breaks up the scenery into small iridescent shapes. The other day I saw, through Tippy's observation point, a hummingbird hovering, trying to figure if the window was a flower. He decided not, and flew away.
Yesterday I removed a bunch of buttons from Tippy's board, leaving those he uses frequently. He informed me that he was angry, and demonstrated which ones he wanted restored. One was "did" as we had used that in reviews of the day to teach him others, and I think that the other was "hurts."
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Last night's dinner started with chicken thighs in the slow cooker. Added peas. Added corn. Added cooked thick noodles. Deboned the chicken (overcooked) and added Raos alfredo sauce. Served in bowls. Tasted good. Side was chopped salad with iceberg, tomato and cucumber.
Today is our Labor Day potluck meal about 5:30 or 6:00. I bought buns and chips.

canarycat, hope the new AI will be less problematic. I can't remember taking a break when I was switched, but that was awhile ago. Enjoy the weekend. A reunion bbq sounds like fun. Lovely cat.
Sandy, they probably spent more on packing boxes, bubble wrap and wrapping paper than on some of your replacement fixtures. Hopefully with all you pointed out to the contractor's rep, change will be effected to your satisfaction. Why would anyone exhaust a bathroom fan into a wall? Are they looking into a return for mold remediation? Sheesh, they sound more like bumblers than licensed contractors.
Glad you were able to do the hair and mani-pedi to make you feel better. Not sure I could eat at 10:30 at night and then go to sleep. Never been a late night eater and on cruises insist on early dinner for that reason.
Annoyed about the hoops one has to jump through to get the Covid vaccine this fall. I will see my new PCP to get a prescription before it is available but think this is an inconvenience for those who will have to contact their PCP through a portal and the demand on them.
The hummingbird was just hovering outside the bay window. He has been sitting on the Japanese maple for the past few days. Yesterday while I was watering the patio plants, I saw 2 males vying for the feeder. I do enjoy watching them. One is very shy and any movement spooks it. The other seems to take it in stride and ignores us. They will be leaving soon and DH won't be able to manage feeder while I am on cruise. He's back hovering, is he saying goodbye?
Weekend originally had no plans except for DH joining DD and DSIL for an outdoor concert. It's a cover band and not one I am fond of, so I passed. We will be going to the Sedona Tap house for dinner before they go and then DD got tickets for us to go see the Cirque Italia, a water show, tomorrow afternoon in Exton. I want to start planning what to pack now that suitcase is repaired.
cindyny, hoping the firemen will let you use their dumpster. Maybe buy them a round of drinks?
Hope everyone has a great day.
Re: how about drinking?
Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Saturday! I went to see Mom yesterday. She was complaining about all the clothes she had all over her bed that she was trying to get sorted out and hung up. She even took me to the bedroom to show me, and low and behold, her bed is covered with clothes that we had gone over and gotten hung up in the closet last week! The very same clothes, plus a few that had gotten put in the wash last time. Why she felt the need to pull them all out of the closet and off the hangers and lay them out on the bed again I'll never figure out. I know she has trouble sorting things, but until recently that's been mostly involving papers, mail, books and the like. She will go through a pile of papers, start making piles of things to throw away, things to keep, things she needs to look over and think about. After a few minutes she is grumbling about not being able to remember which pile is which, and starts putting papers into piles randomly. Then when she gets finished with the pile, she picks up one of the three piles she has and starts over. Eventually everything ends up in the "ones I need to read over and think about" pile and nothing gets accomplished. It's totally crazy in her filing drawers. She has bank statements from the 1990s, but can't find any recent ones even though I give it to her every months and go over it with her. I found a bunch of nested bowls in the fridge, empty (but at least clean) that she says she put away where they belong. Never seen them there before! She still insists that someone (ok, me) is coming in and moving things around when she's asleep, both at night and during the day. I am hoping a place opens up at the facility she wants to move to soon.
Carole--a margarita with Mexican food sounds just about right!
Reader--wow, you have got a HUGE amount going on! Glad to hear brother's surgery are over and behind him, and he does get to come home soon. I think I'd rather have heart surgery than anything to do with a dentist. How did DH get covered in poison ivy? Was he out rolling around in the garden? He must fell miserable. I think you deserve 2 martinis this weekend!
Minus--I am in the process of getting her doctors' offices to mail things to me, have already set up patient portal access using my email address, and having the offices use my phone number for notifications. She hadn't seen the eye doctor since she stopped driving, so I hadn't gotten to them yet. Got it switched now, I hope, we'll see. It can take a few tries with this hospital system. Mom still likes to open her mail herself, although I've noticed she's not doing that as regularly as a few months ago. I don't want to take away anything that she likes to do, so I'm concentrating on setting up work-arounds. I'm finding piles of unopened mail in the oddest places
Miriandra--GOOD FOR YOU! CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a wonderful thing to be chosen to take part in! You must be so excited.

To answer if I did anything special with diet or supplements…..I would have to say no. I did have an aggressive chemo treatment but if I were to guess….I would say that Femara was my silver bullet. I stayed on it for 15 years. For sure treatments are better today than 20 years ago. I hope we will see the cure in our lifetime.
